Hi

Just getting into the shopping part of having a baby (this will be my first) - am just looking and picking out items as Im not sure if 19 weeks is a little too early to get started?

I dont know what I am having so am going neutral but want a Disney theme but without being restricted to Winnie the Pooh! I like pooh bear but want other disney characters.

Will only get the basic essentials until baby is born and we know what we are having.

But would love to know what theme you are all going for? Also anyone else manged a Disney them without Winnie?

Am starting to consider doing some small canvas paintings mself rather than have tigger and piglet staring at me.

Blardy internet decided to cut off last night for no reason so could't reply Angry

Just wanted to add that I did'nt mean to sound as though I was being a misery guts, I meant (in a nice way) that sometimes we go all out on things like nurseries/clothing etc when we don't know what we are having then loook back and wish we had gone for something more gender based if that makes sense.

And FWIW if it was not for the fact that we were living in a spare room in my mums house until we got our own place again I would have gone all out on the nursery as I had BIG ideas :o

You will probably find in the last few weeks of pregnancy that you will be REALLY fed up so maybe leave the canvas' to then so you have something to concentrate on and fill your time. You could do the whole woodland theme and have different Disney woodland creatures randomly dotted around. Also if you can find nice wallpaper in homebase/B&Q etc you can take a strip for a tester (free) and put it over a canvas as a background for a character or if you find themed paper even better for canvassing!

Ooh ooh Bambi, fox & the hound (sob!) and Chip & Dale spring to mind for woodland and I have a Chip teddy you can have for free if you like, I bought it before DS was born and he has never touched it LOL.

I think that whatever you choose, even if your baby can't notice it, they will appreciate the fact that you took so much care, time and effort to give them a nice room when they look back at photos when they're older. Its your first baby, bloody enjoy every minute of it. If it makes you happy, do it. I am very much enjoying planning my baby boy's room and my DH is really getting into it and feels like this is something he can actively do.
Good for you. if you're 'crafty' why not choose a colour that goes with WTP (e.g. red and yellow?) and base the soft furnishings around that?
