My heavily PG mum was still working behind the bar of her pub. Dad put his arms around the tiny waist of the young barmaid and said ' Ohh, it is nice to be able to get my arms around someone again'
Mum to this day, 30+ years later has never forgiven him.

DH told me he didn't want to feel my parasite

And that he'd got me a Christmas present that would last longer than a Rubik's cube (baby due Jan 14th)

When I was 8 months pg with ds1, dp expected me to hire a van, drive to his parents' house 150 miles away, pick up a washing machine and drive it back to London. By myself, on my day off. His day off would be spent drinking with his mate as he "needed time to relax". He would probably have had me unloading and installing the damned thing too had his mum not bllcked him soundly and organised a friend to deliver it to us.

When pg with ds2 I was working full time and had a round trip of 50 miles with ds1 in tow. He got home from work 30 mins before us, but would go straight to the pub, so ds1 and I would come home at 7pm on cold winter nights to an empty house with no lights or heating on, as he refused to set the timer to come on before we got home ("waste of money"). He also refused to do anything other than watch TV and play PS games, claiming that he was "too tired" after being at work to do any household stuff.

Fortunately his ideas have now changed somewhat, as have mine as I wouldn't put up with that cr*p anymore.

intergalacticwalrus · 11/10/2005 01:36

NightHowl · 11/10/2005 01:42

intergalacticwalrus · 11/10/2005 01:43

"Where can I find mop heads for the more 'endowed' lady?"

NightHowl · 11/10/2005 02:25

its late, i think lack of sleep is turning me silly...(like i wasnt already). night!

Carlk · 11/10/2005 08:48

Ok this could be interesting

I think the most unsupportive thing I did was to miss a crucial scan after a worrying blood test cos my m/bike chain key got lost at a work conference at the Villa ground, called breakdown assist out they broke bolt croppers and then took 1/2hr to cut the lock with cutting tools.
BTW the bike (my daily transport) almost certainly wouldnt have been there on my return if I had left it.

The scan was fine but DW still thinks I had my priorities askew. she may be right and I hate myself for not being there.

It's a difficult one for us simple bears bike...baby....bike....baby.....bike....baby...

I will ask DW to look at this thread and put what she thinks was the worst.

Bugsy2 · 11/10/2005 13:37

When I was expecting my 2nd, I was due to be induced. Ex-H was late home from work to drive me to hospital and first thing he said was had I been to the toilet (and he meant for a poo) because he didn't want to be embarrassed if I crapped myself when I pushed.
Given I was in a state of absolute terror, having had such a bad time delivering first, I don't honestly think I could have hated him more.

gravity · 11/10/2005 13:42

CarlK! your funny! your dw will be in tears rolling around on the floor!!!!

you are a brave man coming online and admitting this

actually you are a brave man coming online here full stop.

good on you!

triceratops · 11/10/2005 13:50

Talking about work non stop and making me listen to his work stress constantly while not allowing me to mention babies even casually. I asked him to put the cot up as we will need it in six days time and he said "You're obsessed with babies - can't you think about anything else" Erm - no.

weesaidie · 11/10/2005 13:52

dump me?

dillydally · 11/10/2005 13:54

accuse me of having the baby in secret and not contacting him about the birth (presumably whilst breastfeeding in private)- this was because I had the audacity to not give birth on or before the due date.
