Melon? Have been living off it. Sally Magnusson swears by peanuts. Would lay off the pork and pickle pies though....

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 07/10/2005 11:11

lol

I am stopping those

trouble is fruit makes me hurl apart from very crispy juicy apples. maybe melon would be ok. Thought you were supposed to avoid peanuts in pg - i like them but they are very fattening

LadyMarinaofSarfLondon · 07/10/2005 11:18

Well, at the risk of making you feel even more blech, it dawned on me after I posted that porridge looks pre "digestively-loved" even at the best of times Sorry about that

LadyCodofCodford · 07/10/2005 11:18

no 6lbs, finally faced the scales this an

am not snacking or having seconds

I'm the same only 21 weeks. I bought donuts last night - and I NEVER eat donuts!!!

LadyCodofCodford · 07/10/2005 11:20

or lower fat crackers maybe?
try drinking instead

MrsDoolittle · 07/10/2005 11:22

Oatcakes and philly - that sounds nice, haven't tried that. I'm hungry now.

What shall I have?

Bewitched · 07/10/2005 11:27

Pilchards in tomato sauce on wholemeal toast - good for baby's brain development and yummy and filling for you!

I had this whilst preg. Just go with what you want to eat. I put on over 30 kilos whilst preg. ds born last week. Lost 15 kilos just from this.

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 07/10/2005 12:06

at the risk of being shot down in flames, eat what you want when you want, and throw the scales in the bin

why? i shall tell you

in my first pregnancy, i had a chart, and religiously weighed myself and ate so healthily it was boring - i swam everyday too - at 20 weeks, i had put on 28 pounds and was so depressed as the "books" told me I should put on no more than 25 pounds for the whole pregnancy - i obsessed over it so much that i was completely depressed - i was my prepregancy weight exactly 9 months after giving birth

in my second pregnancy, i refused to weigh myself, and ate what i want, when i wanted, by just listening to what my body was telling me - i put on LESS weight than the first pregnancy, was not obsessed about it, and actually enjoyed the experience, which was a bit of a shock to me

my SIL has had 4 pregnancies - the first she was careful, the second she pigged out on cream buns, the third she walked everyday, the fourth she did nothing - she put on EXACTLY the same amount of weight in all of them

the moral of the story - relax and let your body tell you what it needs

(ps. and put the scales in the bin or in the attic)

koalabear · 07/10/2005 12:08

ooops - i meant "i was my PRE pregancy weight exactly 9 months after birth" (meaning lost all the weight)

compo · 07/10/2005 12:10

what about philadelphia and celery or ryvita

Wills · 07/10/2005 13:18

Hi Enid,

Am having similar problems heading and am 7+5. Have a strong desire for really really strong flavours at the mo and a) concerned with weight gain and b) concerned that throughout the day my intake is not exactly balanced. (At the moment my favourite food is a ham, cheese, mustard and gherkin sandwich - pure heaven). The idea of fruit or veg makes my stomach turn. At the same time have put on 6 pounds (so heading for 10 at 10 like you). I'm trying to think low cal soup, but have yet to find meaty soups that involve mustard or horseradish. .

Dophus · 07/10/2005 13:24

I put on loasa of weight 35 lb. Enjoy the stodge guilt free. Breastfeed and exercise afterwards.

As Koala says your body tells you. Mine told me stodge stodge stodge during the first trimester (or barf). It went away for the second trim (fancied healthy things). The third was wine and chocolate time...

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 07/10/2005 13:27

lol wills

yes strong flavours the problem

have just had cup of miso soup which I love but I can understand the idea repulsing most other people. also bought a tub of chili and garlic seeds at health food shop that I am snacking on. oatcakes with light philly and mango chutney also a good one.

pies and veg tonight courtesy of dh
