Well done Louise - sounds like you are underway! Are you bouncing on your birthing ball and waddling around? Let us know how the day progresses.

Feeling really periody here today. My body is definately getting ready to go into labour, but I'm not sure that it will happen today or even this week. DD#1 birthday today, she is 12. I feel old. Off to make birthday lasagne ready for dinner in a minute (her choice not ours!). Feel a bit like baking too. Might make some kind of cake. And clean out the freezer which has stray peas in every drawer.

In other news (TMI alert) subsequent doses of raspberry leaf tea have not prompted (ooh can't type, uncomfortable contractions...) a further episode in the loo. So it may have been a genuine 'clear out'. The contractions have been like this for about two weeks on and off, so no need to get over-excited Grin.

I am going to be excited anyway SamB! You're going to have a baby.

Not long until my 20 week scan now, it's first thing Monday morning. Eeeep!

And this weekend I am off to meet my new nephew, born 8 weeks early. I can't wait to see him. I have seen a photo and he is tiny but has a full head of blonde hair. And so cute.

SamanthaB123 · 07/10/2010 11:39

Muser - so are you!!! I don't think I'm having my baby today. Not long 'til Monday, hope it goes well.

SamB sounds like you are definitely getting ready for baby arrival too!! Gosh it's very exciting on this thread at the moment!

Tigerbear - welcome! This is a really great thread and the girls are a fountain of knowledge and assurance.

TFLS Congratulations!!

Loopsy hope you are feeling a bit better

xx

HappyGirl1 · 07/10/2010 15:59

Had a bit of a 'surprise' / 'shock' myself today. At lunchtime was walking out to the bathroom and all of a sudden got a huge contraction lasting 30 seconds. My whole body tensed and eyes watered. Was crazy. Any BH I've had so far have been 3 or 4 seconds and at nighttime and just like grand but this was crazy. I'm only 31 weeks but a few people have told me I've dropped this week but I don't think baby could possibly come at this stage! I don't mind though once baby is well it can come when it likes but I'd prefer for it to get more time inside me before making it's appearance hopefully Smile.

Unbuffy · 07/10/2010 16:23

Hello all

So it's all go with SamB and Louise! Ooooh, it's getting exciting... and FAR too short a list above me...

Hope everyone's well, I'm very pleased that BabyB is the right way around as you can imagine, and just waiting for all the rest now! funnily enough some more BH would be reassuring at this stage - having not done the labour Thang I'd like to know my body CAN IYSWIM. Don't really feel 'ready', just very very exhausted and heavy, and can't wait to get to the next bit... in some ways...

Whatever happened to nesting anyway? I could do with some tidying energy, if for no other reason than MIL is coming for the day on Saturday. I just want to eat and sleep atm.

Want to say big congrats to Banana, too. Relax, take it gently, and see what happens x

banana87 · 07/10/2010 19:38

Just popping on quickly to say Thanks for all your kind words. I am not getting anywhere near excited, as I am still classifying what I saw yesterday and a blob of cells that may or may not turn into a baby. Saying that, I have relaxed and allowed MS to set in, yikes!

Also good luck hairytriangle for your scan tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Will catch up with everyone else when I am not dead with tiredness!

Loopy Hope your spotting has subsided. Try not to worry, many people have spotting and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. I know that you have been here before, but even then every pregnancy is new, afresh and different, so it doesn't necessarily follow that this will be the same as before.

Still here Grin. Nothing much to report, may have lost a part of mucas plug this morning. Or may have just had a dillusional moment Blush. Difficult to tell. Still niggling as yesterday but nothing significant. I think that in two weeks time I will still be posting in the same way, beside myself that I've gone overdue. And you will all be praying that the baby will turn up just to keep me quiet! Blush.

Hope everyone has a good day, SB x

Loopy got everything crossed for you.

Looking forward to some more news from the top Grin

northerngoldilocks · 08/10/2010 09:35

Sam - post away, its what we're all here for.

Muser good luck for Monday - I don't get my 20 week scan until 22 weeks so feels like ages to wait at the moment. Am trying to pay attention to see if I can feel any movements in the meantime.

Banana glad your scan went well - fingers crossed for you

Loopy I can't believe that today is anything other than a coincidence for you - statistically it seems unlikely to be anything else. Will be looking out for good news after Wed scan for you.

Good luck to Hairy for today - am assuming that you'll be 'lurking' on here as I did for ages before I posted.

hairytriangle · 08/10/2010 11:41

Hug to Loopy

Hello all. I had my scan at 5 plus 6 (today) and they saw a pregnancy sac and a yolk sac, but not confirmed a heart beat. They said from what they could see, I look about five weeks pregnant.

They said that they saw something that could be but it was really hard to tell, and it's probably too early - plus the baby is attached to the far wall of the womb.

So I'm booked in for another one in two weeks, when I'll be 7 plus 6 so hopefully much clearer.

Not too alarmed, but would have loved to have seen a heartbeat today!

northerngoldilocks · 08/10/2010 11:46

Hairy,if you are 5 weeks rather than 5+6 I think it would be too early to see a heartbeat (actually 5+6 might still be too early). On the bright side, it does seem like this one is in the right place!

Its horrible waiting isn't it - I held out until 8 weeks just to avoid the bit where it was inconclusive (but know that your situation is different from mine as previously I had MMC rather than suspected ectopic so no reason to scan early other than reassurance). Hoping that waiting 2 more weeks passes as quickly as possible and that next time theres a heartbeat to see too.

Muser · 08/10/2010 12:07

I had exactly the same with my first scan hairy. I was just under 6 weeks and no sign of the baby. Went back at 8 weeks, and there Bob was with heartbeat zooming away.

I'm sure you'll get to see that in a few weeks too. And in the meantime, wonderful news that all is where it should be!

hairytriangle · 08/10/2010 13:22

Thank you both :) I'm not overly worried, it just would have been so nice to have had that extra re-assurance! The sonographer says 5 weeks, but dates are 5+6 so I don't know if she was just leaving out the +6 bit LOL.

Have googled and found that many don't see the heartbeat til later. I so can't wait to see my little emby in there - fingers firmly crossed!!!!

Muser · 08/10/2010 13:38

I think even at 6 weeks it's a bit hit and miss on seeing the heartbeat. Might not be there one day, and suddenly appear the next.

Hopefully · 08/10/2010 13:55

I had a scan at something like 6+3, and sonographer said it was about 50/50 that she'd see the heartbeat at that stage (and our EPU has v good new equipment), so don't think it's at all odd not to have seen it at under 6 weeks. Good news that everything else appears to be where it's meant to.

Northern I haven't even worked out when my 20 week scan is. It's the end of November, and I'm almost 15 weeks now, so I guess I'll be more like 22 weeks too

Loopy I had spotting the day after my scan at 6+3. I was so terrified I didn't mention it to DP, don't think I even mentioned it on here, just couldn't bear the possibility that anything might have happened, especially the day after seeing a heartbeat. All was fine though, and I think it is just so common to have spotting. Try not to get to anxioous (easier said than done!)

I am starving at all times at the moment. I ate a bag of sour skittles today, and had to really restrain myself not to go straight and buy another bag (this was about 8 minutes after lunch). luckily the amazing appetite seems to be offset by periods where I'm so bloated that I literally can't eat dinner, so I figure it's all evening out.

banana87 · 08/10/2010 16:52

Good news that everything was where it was supposed to be Hairy. Agree that its early to see the heartbeat. Most places don't like to scan til 7 weeks for that exact reason.

How is the spotting today Loopy? Hope you are ok.

Been feeling ok all day and just when I got home the nausea has hit and I am gagging as I eat a banana. I welcome it though, would rather have sickness than nothing at all :)

Fingers crossed Loopy, hope you manage to have a relaxing weekend of sorts.

Hairy keep thinking positive thoughts

I intend to do a lot of sleeping as I am exhausted- do have a reason though- the 'slight anaemia' I have developed despite taking multivits with iron all the way through. ... Hmm.

Have a good weekend all :)

louisesh · 09/10/2010 11:25

Hi all STILL here!!!! Had 24 hours of false labour from thurs about 4am to fri am , the same time.Absolutely knackered....contractions every 5 mins, only lasting up to 30 seconds, rung delivery suite they wanted contractions to last up to 1 minute.Lost mucus plug at 5 am on fri am,slight bit of green discharge rung again was informed wear a pad for 1 hr ring us back.Did and discharge changed to brown!!!!
