Yes - i had bleeding at 4 weeks after 2 previous miscarriages and went on to have baby girl now 8 months. Pregnant again (yes totally mad!) and had bleeding at 16 weeks which they could find no cause for. Good luck x

I had a bleed at 7 weeks, saw a heartbeat. Then another at 14 weeks, saw a baby! Still going at 16+2.

MigGril · 14/08/2010 20:23

I had heavy bleeding at 12 week's with DD who's now 3years, and a bleed at 5 week's with PG no2 I'm now 30 week's PG with no other problems so far.

merlin8878 · 14/08/2010 20:27

I had a big bleed at 6 weeks, ended up in A & E and pretty much thought thats it.

A scan then confirmed everything was in the right place. Had to wait another 2 weeks until they could see a heartbeat.

Am now 34+5.

Really hope everything works out for you.

onimolap · 14/08/2010 20:38

I'd had a bleed at 8 weeks in my 4th pg, which was when I'd miscarried the 3rd and was about to sink into gloom. But the scan showed a heartbeat, and she grew to be DD. They did say at that scan that there was some other stuff ( can't remember scientific term), and it was possible - but we'll never know for sure, that there had been a non-viable twin.

If they can see a heartbeat, it's good news.

Fatcakes · 14/08/2010 20:50

I had significant bleeding in all four pregnancies. I went on to have Three beautiful babies and am currently 19 weeks pregnant with a boy!
Had a proper "show" at 14 weeks with my second and all turned out well in the end.
Good luck and take it easy. Xx

ReshapeWhileDamp · 14/08/2010 21:38

I had a bleed (some brownish discharge, followed by pretty reddish blood, and then brown again) at 6 weeks. A scan at 7 weeks showed a heartbeat. Baby is currently kicking me in the groin at 20 weeks! Grin

I hope things work out for you - I know how nerve-wracking any bleeding is, particularly if you've had previous MCs. Sometimes they just don't know why we bleed in pregnancy, but it really isn't always the end.

DetectivePotato · 14/08/2010 21:58

It is thought that many more twins are conceived than we realise and one is lost early on. Could account for the fact that many women bleed with no explanation.

My friend has twins and has researched it thoroughly.

I had spotting at 5-8 weeks with DS1, massive red bleed with cramping at 8 weeks and spotting from 8-10.5 weeks. DS1 was fine! And I had bleeding at 4 weeks with DS2 but he was fine too. Good Luck!

frenchfries22 · 14/08/2010 22:16

I had a very heavy bleed at 10 weeks (previous miscarriage at 7 weeks) confirmed as a threatened miscarriage however heart beat still there and after a weeks bed rest and some hormone tablets baby seemed to be fine- now 23 weeks and can feel her rolling and kicking as we speak.

frenchfries22 · 14/08/2010 22:18

Sorry - forgot to say good luck and try to be positive - reading all these types of stories really helped me to stay calm.

OnEdge · 14/08/2010 22:20

I have bled with all 3 of mine, I now see its normal. Usually when 1st period would have been. Bright red. Always think it is period coming but suddenley stops unlike a period.

girlsyearapart · 15/08/2010 07:54

forgot to say my sister also had bleeding in her 2nd pregnancy which turned out to be a loss of a twin. healthy baby girl at the end of it all though.

saoirse86 · 15/08/2010 10:20

I had gynae problems before being pregnant which meant I was used to bleeding every day (and had been for 2 and a half years), so thought nothing of bleeding for the first 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks, then bit more bleeding at about 11 weeks and another 5 days of bleeding at 15 weeks. 15 weeks was the last bleed I had and I'm now 34+2. Everything seems fine so far, baby's heartbeat is always strong etc so I assume the bleeding has had no effect.

LaBellaSantaCatarinadiSienna · 15/08/2010 14:05

Thank you all! feel more calm now. Apologies for tmi, but I passed a clot yesterday and bleeding now seems to have stopped, so I'm guessing tomorrow's blood test will clear things up one way or another, but these have all helped me keep positive.

I had some brown discharge at 4 weeks...on the day I found out I was pregnant. I had had a previous MMC and was convinced it was happening again. But it stuck! I then had a bleed at 7 weeks, 8 weeks,9 weeks,10 weeks ,11 weeks and 12 weeks!!! All bright red blood....all the books say that bright red blood is bad news, I also had period pains up to about 16 weeks... but im now 29 weeks pregnant and watching my tummy bounce around as our baby girl is kicking happily about in there! I ended up spending hundreds of pounds on private scans as NHS were not interested, and everytime I had bled I was convinced we had miscarried again, and everytime, we saw our little one getting bigger. They never did tell me for sure where the bleeding came from but they suspect from the cervix, which can bleed due to the increase in hormones. I also have a friend who has 4 kids and she bled with every single one...as did my midwife! The moral of the story is that not all bleeding is bad...in fact, it seems pretty common. Good luck for tomorrow.

DinahRod · 15/08/2010 19:18

Yes, particularly with my last, at 6-7 weeks (with bleeding, painful cramping) and also 11 weeks. I had an early scan with the first bout and the standard 12 week scan after the second, and on both occasions dh & I were emotional and surprised to see a heartbeat. He is now 4 weeks old and asleep at my side.

Can I also add how good the GP was with the referral to the EPU /supply of pain-relief and also the EPU staff too.

DinahRod · 15/08/2010 19:24

Missed your update there, LaBellaSantaCatarinadiSienna, will be keeping fingers crossed for you.

Mine looked like 'textbook' m/c (bright red blood/cramping/small clots) but scans and swabs showed an infection/possible cervical bleed which antibiotics sorted.

Astralabe · 15/08/2010 19:25

I had a bleed at 4,8 and 12 weeks when I would have had a period. The first time I just thought I wasn't pregnant that month and would keep trying - but b/c it was 'browner' than normal I did a test and was positive... second time was quite scary as I was havign a bath and just started bleeding. There seemed quite a lot, it lasted an hour and I really thought I'd lost the baby - went for a scan and all was fine. The last time I was semi-expecting it, since there seemed to be a pattern, although it was less by then. After that it stopped in the second trimester.
Always best to get cheacked out - by the third time I didn't bother but was told off for it by my midwife when I told her at the next appointment!

Am now 25 weeks - good luck xxx

LaBellaSantaCatarinadiSienna · 16/08/2010 13:43

Thanks for all your support, but the levels have dropped, so it was an early m/c. I'm absolutely gutted, but appreciate all your comments
