Does anyone know what is the lowest risk ration one can get?

I was 1 in 90 with my latest (3rd) pregnancy, but then again I am 40.

Kelly - our first pg we decided no to have the triple blood test as we were not going to go for the amnio. Second time the nuchal was offered as well so seemed more of an accurate test, plus we had DD alredy to take into consideration.

I think it is quite common for people to not have the blood test if not going to go for the amnio. Was 22 first time though, so obviously had age on our side, 25 this time.

My combined bloods and age result was 1 in 50,000. I'm 30 years old, the MW said it was just about the lowest risk ratio they give out.

proseccogirl · 07/08/2010 20:42

1 in 174. We had an amnio which was all clear.

I am 35, I got "less than 1:50,000"

OnNaturesCourse · 04/06/2017 21:58

Sorry to drag this up.

I got 1:13000. Neck fold 2.3 and I'm 28 at EDD.

I'm a bit worried even though I'm "low risk"

What are the measurement triggers in the neck fold etc?

cuirderussie · 04/06/2017 22:09

1 in 28 after a nuchal fold scan and blood test at 12 weeks. I was 37. The increased risk was mainly from something a bit abnormal in the blood test, the baby looked fine. Very scary. I had a CVS test and got the all-clear a week later but they monitored the pregnancy closely and it was quite stressful. He's a fine healthy boy, no issues at all. I really sympathise with anyone going through that kind of stress, it's awful.

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2017 09:13

Oh, that is scary!

I'm not sure what I expected of the numbers but perhaps higher than 13000, I've seen people with 1:50000+ 😑

They didn't say anything individually about bloods / fold, only read that the fold was 2.3 so I'm wondering if that's normal or higher?

tuxie11 · 05/06/2017 10:01

My letter didn't mention the fold at all, but I saw on the scan it measured 1.1mm at 12+2. My risk is 1:24000 and I'm 26 + will be 27 at EDD
I fretted to start with googling it all but in all honesty - everyone I told like MIL, my mum, and friends with babies said it was great. I've read the way they calculate is not accurate so if your NT fold is less than 3.5mm I believe that's positive

Oysterbabe · 05/06/2017 10:25

Onnaturescourse you really don't need to worry with those results, you are very very low risk. There are no absolute guarantees however. Maybe you should pay for the harmony test if you're still worried.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 05/06/2017 10:30

1:39,000 with DS @ 38
1:208 with DD @40
1:2509 with this baby aged 42

cuirderussie · 05/06/2017 10:32

Yes, the tests are great on one hand but can cause a lot of unnecessary worry. I think your numbers sound just fine OnNature Flowers

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2017 10:57

I wish I could afford further tests, unfortunately I can't. 😑

Just need to wait and see I guess!

Lolly2803 · 05/06/2017 10:58

I had just turned 30 and mine was 1:9,100 and that was with twins.
I had the Serenity test before that which just came back "no aneuploidies" detected.
Sounds like your results are low risk too!

Joffmognum · 05/06/2017 11:21

1 in 8000 for me at 19

LittleGreenPear · 05/06/2017 11:24

1 in 350 ish at aged 35. I didn't give it much thought after that, I thought the odds were excellent

AncientOva · 05/06/2017 11:39

My risk, aged 40, was 1:1700.

2.3 for NT is absolutely fine. They start worrying at anything over 3.5mm I think.

My most recent pregnancy had an NT measurement of 4.2mm and that was way over what they were comfortable with and I was fast tracked for invasive testing (and sure enough my baby had serious unsurvivable issues). I am 43 though. My combined risk was 1:3 for Downs and 1:2 for Edwards and Patau - my bloods were as bad as the NT measurement.

Your measurements are fine, please try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy - easier said than done I know!

OnNaturesCourse · 05/06/2017 12:06

Thank you all.

It's comforting to hear of others and their results xx
