Kveta... Give it a week, if it's no better at all, I would say it's not the right time.

My DS wasn't potty trained until 3.3, my DD was 2.0...

They all get there!

DS has been telling us when he is peeing or pooing in his nappy recently, his friend is potty trained and DS talks about this, but he just doesn't care if he is wet un his pants at all!

And if we suggest potty usage, he has a tantrum. Sigh. Will give it another day or two then maybe leave it a couple of weeks rather than forcing the issue.

I tried about 6 weeks ago and had great success for the first day, then he suddenly decided he didn't like the potty and I caved Blush. It means he can do it though so am determined to sort it this week. Let's face it it's not going to get any easier for me is it Grin

DS (3 in Sep) took it upon himself to remove nappy 2 weekends ago, and we've done grand! 1-2 minor accidents (drips), and for first 2 days poo'd in pants but niw he's giving us plenty of warnings. He's moved to toilet as more comfortable than potty, and he sees that as being like Mummy and Daddy Smile, we've even managed 3-4 reasonable length car journeys. Spain in 2 weeks may be a test but have bought a travel potty so as to not get caught short!

DS is also 3 in september. started asking to use the potty in january, then refused to have anything to do with it ~march -june (when DD was born) and has started asking about it again recently.

we have just found that a chocolate button is not enough bribery, but a mini reeces peanut butter cup is, so maybe we'll get him trained before finishing the bag of them my friend brought back from the USA for us!!

I'm not sure what counts as success though - 2 wettings in a day is good or bad? he says he needs the potty, but then doesn't produce anything once there.

poos - he has always been erratic with them, can go 2-3 days between, so none have fallen on training days yet. should be today.

he has stopped drinking as much since potty training started Hmm so we are offering him a drink every hour or so - he's mainly refusing.

I think he's ready, but is so bloody minded and also thrown by DD's arrival that he is caught between wanting to move out of nappies and wanting to still be our baby. time will tell I guess?!

I wouldn't be in such a hurry but want it all sorted well before baby arrives. Good luck everyone Smile

In the same position here, 20 weeks pg so want to potty train dd (2.6) this summer. We started on Friday, so day 4 today and it seems to be going as expected, some accidents but progress I think.

Re the temperature, I'd see how he goes. If he is really poorly then you should probably stop, if it's just a cold, or too much sun then keep going.

Hmmm....

I am tempted...

DD2 just turned 2 last month. She tells me when she's been to the toilet and often says 'I need a wee'.

She also keeps taking her nappy off and is a pain to wipe after a dirty nappy, so life may be easier if she's out of nappies.

She took her nappy off this morning so I left it off as we were playing in the garden and took the potty out - told her to wee in the potty if she needed one. She weed three times in the garden (none on the potty) then I put her nappy back on in the afternoon as we went out.

At bathtime I asked her if she wanted to go on the potty and she said no, then DD1 asked her if she wanted to go on the toilet and she said yes. Promptly got on and did a wee in the toilet! First time she's done anything.

I'm now wondering if I should jsut go for it this week as we have no plans and the weather is nice...We're going away to my parents in a fortnight so thought it might be a pain to do it before then - but I guess I could just put a pull up on for the journey (she only wears nappies so I think we could get away with calling them special pants). At least with DH off and my parents around I won't have the hell of 'marking' her through the early weeks of going out nappy free alone.

FIsharefriends - ooh, that's a tricky one :( Does he seem ill? Could it just be the hot weather that pushed his temp up?

could have been worse here, he had 2 accidents (one very minor) and one pant wetting on purpose because 'it funny mummy' Hmm but several potty usages and lots of chocs for him, plus he drank a lot more today.

thankfully good weather meant he could pootle around the garden all day in just pants, and I got loads of washing done. fingers crossed for tomorrow!

He is proving to have a camel like bladder today, no action on any front since taking off pull up about 7.30. He pooed in pull up last night too.

In plus side temp seems ok today whereas I feel rotten and very faint.

Hang in there K it's a trying time Smile

I could use some advice. Ds is normally an at least 2 poos a day child and has spent all yesterday and this morning saying he needs a poo but nothing happening.

Poor child is holding his bum, then sitting on potty for aagggeeeeesssss but nothing happening. Think he just is frightened to let it out iyswim.. Any tips?

He is sat on potty eating raisins drinking a smoothie at the moment Smile
