I'm on mat leave (baby almost 6 mo) and currently on lockdown with everyone else in England.
Still in my pj's as not sure what the point is of getting dressed? Can't go anywhere!
Anyone else?

@flissity It would be so nice, wouldn't it? My brother lives quite near but he's autistic so can't help.
Would you be able to form a support bubble with your sister?

I won’t as the risk of self isolating (the hassle of it) is too high. There’d be too many people in the bubble! As i also co-parent. So the 2 parenting households (mine and children’s dad) and my sisters would be something like 15 people. It would be inconvenient for us all to self isolate if one of us ended up having too. Does that make sense 🤣 it’s not fair on everyone trying to go to work/school

@flissity Yes I totally get where you are coming from. If I'd have known how pants this mat leave was going to be I think I'd have probably held off ttc! A risk at 39 (now 40) but it's how I feel.

I feel you! I’m 37, didn’t want to leave it any longer. I’m glad she’s a summer baby though. We can do a lovely garden 1st birthday family thing next year. I was looking forward to this, my last time not at work etc’ !
We are starting back swimming lessons next week so that’s something! And my eldest have their sports clubs and things. I do feel slightly sad for the grandparents not being able to cuddle and spend proper time with DD. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Life is more normal by Easter. I really hope it is!

Nicknamegoeshere · 28/11/2020 01:00

@flissity Me too, although I'll probably be back at work by Easter! I'm a primary teacher. Are you planning on returning to work? Smile

I willl be going back, things have changed in our office! Lots of home working and flexible hours. (Finance) so it’ll fit in well! I’m taking a year so will go back in May/June.

Nicknamegoeshere · 28/11/2020 01:06

@flissity Ah that sounds like it will work well for you. I love my job but it's not exactly flexible re hours and I can't work from home!
I hope you get a bit of "normal" time with your little one before you return Smile

You definitely can’t work from home!

I hope so. At least you’ll get summer holidays to look forward to.
I am now attempting to get DD to sleep for the 3rd time in an hour 😴😴 shes full of energy. I am definitely not!

I'd love to get out more and exercise and understand this would be better for my mental health, but with a 9 week old and barely getting any sleep I feel like it's better to get sleep for my mental health than get ready and go out. It's hard to strike the balance

I have to for the school run, as soon as I get in in the morning I put my pjs on, then I get dressed again to pick my ds up in the afternoon, then after that I am back in pjs again (I don’t stay in my clothes as my jeans fit when I stand but are a little tight when I sit down)
