6 month old twins and I can't cope anymore. I went to the Drs yesterday and I have therapy in 2 weeks. I just can't do this anymore, I'm exhausted, I feel trapped, I'm sick of all the advice people try and give when they don't have to live it so it's so easy to dish all the advice out. I never get a minutes peace from the minute they wake up to the minute they're asleep I'm constantly holding a baby! Just needed to vent :(

I do think that’s normal (for me, as a mum of one who isn’t also dealing with grief), feeling like bad bits are overwhelming. Great that you got to the buggyfit session and really great that the girls let you join in.

Hope tomorrow feels helpful.

Oh good, sometimes I think I'm just crazy!! Thanks again for checking in, I will update how tomorrow goes. Hoping it is useful x

Oh for goodness sake!! Did they say why?

I’d try TAMBA or Family Lives (tel:08088002222) in the meantime to tide you over, as it can be such a help to actually talk to someone.

mummyoftwincesses · 03/07/2018 16:48

Thanks verbena. They just said they woman who normally does it couldn't make it. Sad

Confused it’s so tough when you’ve been aiming towards something and then the rug gets pulled from under your feet. Don’t be afraid to ring back and ask what alternatives they can put in place for you until then - post natal well-being is so bloody undervalued and it’s such a shame because happy mums = happy babies = better health all round. Sending strong calm thoughts Flowers

My twins are teenagers now, but I had a Homestart volunteer once a fortnight, just for a couple of hours. She would take them out and I would sleep or clean or bake it whatever seemed most important. My friend had one of their volunteers three times a week to help with feeding and take her twins out. I don't know if they are in all areas but they are so helpful.

mummyoftwincesses · 03/07/2018 19:37

Yeah exactly verbena, I feel unless you are suicidal it's not really a priority.
User, i have a volunteer who comes 2 hours a week which is great, although she isn't allowed to be with the girls alone so I just get jobs done while she's here

How’s it going @mummyofwincesses ?

Hope you’re all managing and not melting in this heat. Brew

mummyoftwincesses · 10/07/2018 08:40

Pretty much the same here really, although I've got a telephone appointment on Monday with a counsellor so wel see how that goes. But yeah it is sooo warm!! Lovely when you can go and sit in it, not so much when you have 2 grumpy girls and a grumpy mum!

Ah glad you’ve got a phone appointment - better than nothing!

Yes it’s blooming boiling. We’re attempting our first camping trip with 10mo this weekend and it’s forecast to rain - Sod’s law or what?! Still, the garden will appreciate it.

mummyoftwincesses · 10/07/2018 14:56

Aww that's typical!! I hope the weather stays nice for you! Although not too hot as that could be a nightmare too lol

Hi there mummyoftwincesses sorry to hear it's been so tough. Just wanted to say I went through a tough time when I had my son who is now two and a half - I had postpartum anxiety but managed to overcome it. I have created a video on it which may help if you can relate to any of what I say, if not feel free to ignore. Either way I ended up seeing a gp and getting help so I'm glad to hear you're making that a priority. I went on a stress and anxiety course via the NHS which then led me to mindfulness. Anyway the video is mainly about my experience of postpartum anxiety so perhaps you'll find it useful. Warm wishes and best of luck xx www.facebook.com/bathmindfulness/videos/230516664413369/

Hi bath, thank you, I will have a watch of that Smile. Nice to hear you sound so positive now after you also had a rough time x

Yes I turned a corner about a year ago when I reached out for help, best thing I did as there is more support out there than you realise and with the NHS the support i received was free x

mummyoftwincesses · 11/07/2018 15:20
