Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

miamla eek! second cyteen's suggestion of a tour. You're welcome to join Seb and I in our historic town for a day visit the cathedral and the various Dickens themed cafes
LOTI I think black is OK - accessorize with a colourful scarf/beads/handbag etc. (NB I am NOT by any stretch of the imagination a style guru)
Seb woke at 4 this morning. Got him back to sleep just before 5. Hoping the croup is easing off. He's not sounding quite as bad today as he has been.

MrsMiamla · 29/04/2010 13:11

DS has just come back from the hall wearing his wellies and waving his spade at me! i suspect he had so much fun 'gardening' yesterday that he's now wanting to go back out now! only problem is that he hasn't got any trousers or a top on! He's a funny little thing!

qod so pleased to hear Seb not sounding as bad

redL I found a bag of your orange cousins in my cupboard earlier and thought of you! and yet again, you are speaking sense!

loti in that case i'd say what you've chosen sounds perfect!

luckoftheirish · 29/04/2010 13:17

having a bit of a wibble about it now so have ordered another dress from next pinky/red.. will be delivered tomorrow so will try both and try and make a decision ..

miamla.. more than welcome to take a drive up to brum and pop in on your way to cyteen

RedLentil · 29/04/2010 13:19

I can't spell or type. It is weeks since I got 5 hours of sleep in a row. Too much work and too little time off. DH is snowed under too. Things should ease off in about a fortnight, but work on our extension starts on June 1st. I'll need to order a truckload of 'meeps.'

We got our planning permission through yesterday which is fantastic news of course. If the weather is good, it should be a just about manageable summer of chaos.

I really need to spend a bit of time weaning dd2 off her night-time feed but she says 'ankyou Mom' in such an adorable way and I am too tired to break the cycle.

Two of my sisters are coming to stay tomorrow night which is lovely. Ifonly there was time to shop, no index to finish preparing and no cleaning/ironing to do. Oh and the children might need some wholesome interaction ... I'm writing the shopping list now and I'll email it to dh I think.

Reading this back, all my moans are about good things. I'll stop!

Dd2 was really quite brave at music group today which was very cheering. She is still about the weight of a packet of cornflakes, so hoiking her around isn't too arduous. And she woke me this morning by patting me on the head and saying 'great girl'.

I'm still rofling at the 'four sides' thing Oops. She sounds like DS's soulmate.

RedLentil · 29/04/2010 13:21

Toddlers feel underdressed without wellies on don't they?

Oops, I forgot to vote for Katya (Kitty). Lovely names, and very exciting to see which one will fit.

RedLentil · 29/04/2010 13:22

Me? Avoiding work? How very dare you!

cyteen · 29/04/2010 13:29

Red my DS won't countenance the idea of wellies A friend passed on a super yellow pair that her DS loved, but J goes wild if they even come near his feet.

Rather of your cornflake girl. DS weighs a hearty 2st; carrying him around is like hoisting a sack of bowling balls.

QueenofDreams · 29/04/2010 13:34

S doesn't have wellies, but he frequently brings his skater shoes for me to put on him. He then stumps round the house stark naked but for his shoes
cyteen S is just over 1.5 stone and he feels heavy enough!

Miamla I have a spare room you and T can stay in if you fancy Southampton. Shopping, Fabric Warehouse, Ikea, oldywoldy bits and of course Crafty Coffee club on Fruday mornings...

LOTI I'm wearing a little black Grecian dress to my Greek wedding, under a kingfisher blue wrappy-cardi and have found a matching fascinator. Will be a redhead by then too. Trinny & Susanna say black and pink together is tarty although I have worn black and pale pink to a wedding before.
And don't buy his clothes for him, he won't appreciate it and will find something to dislike/moan about. Let him make his own mistakes and just make sure everyone knows they are his.

RedLentil · 29/04/2010 13:54

Your ds can be our exception, Cyteen. DS has a mortal fear of being stickered, and always had still does have a little freakout if doctors or dentists try to reward him for being good.

DD1's sticker obsession seems to have worked as a kind of aversion therapy, but he still hyperventilates at the idea of being face-painted.

Job sounds great Sazzles, and glad to hear things are settling with the car fallout.

Got be at school in six minutes. ARGH!!!

GladioliBuckets · 29/04/2010 13:59

Oh me too Red, have always hated stickers and badges too, makes my skin crawl but now have had to get a grip to make sure I don't pass it on to the kids! Also raglan-sleeved tops and polo necks for some reason (must have known as a child I would be big busted).

GreenGardenia · 29/04/2010 15:19

Wow there is so much catch-up I'm not sure where to start ... so will jump right in and probably leave everyone out, apols.

Redser GREAT NEWS on planning permission and yes the building will be a nuisance but you will then have transformed house (timeline?) in which to float on new cloud of roominess and order. You have been working way too hard if you have not had 5 hrs sleep together in a vv long time so you'd better knock that one on the head laydee or you'll be good for nothing. Yay for sisters, love 'em!

ds2 is another wellie refusenik, with all the mucky dogwalks we do he's not fitting in that well! However as my mum always says, the great thing about skin is it washes, and I don't mind changing socks etc.

I have a dear friend Kitty so like the name vv much, have also always had soft spot for Clem but was roundly vetoed by dp in pre-ds2 discussions.

I was praying no-one would notice dp had worn jeans to yr wedding Miamla, from the waist up he was ok in shirt & jacket but he left his trousers at home, the old fool dear. Hey - fancy getting your backside over to Dublin for a spot of PIL avoidance spring sunshine?

Sazz can't imagine anyone getting anything past you on the job front hope it looks good & is convenient & pays squillions.

cyteen · 29/04/2010 16:25

Sazz I notice you are staying well out of the whole flounce/meet-up car crash situation in Chat

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/04/2010 16:38

I do think there has been a massive overreaction. Generally, and by one person.

My reaction has been through the cackling stage and now progressed to facepalm.

Yes, I'm still here mildly contracting but they are not painful at the moment. I need to figure out how to get this creature out soon or stop contracting as it is affecting my sleep.

I read that thread too and thought at all the fuss.

cyteen · 29/04/2010 17:00

What would Jesus do?

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/04/2010 17:05

Not sure he can help get the baby out Cyteen although am willing to ask

hotterpotter · 29/04/2010 17:09

Have been watching the tears and recriminations too feel like a voyeur, well I guess that is another name for a lurker

Oops you must be getting mightily fed up now. If you really want her out I would suggest sitting with knees wiiiiiide apart on a gym ball and bouncing bouncing bouncing bouncing ALL evening as am convinced that is what finally persuaded DS to put in an appearance
