[Guest Speaker BucketsOfDelight]

lol I make myself laugh.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 21/12/2009 22:23

Hmm I do find DH will pretty much go along with anything if there's a bar of chocolate/McMuffin/cup of tea in it for him. Maybe other DHs have more complex minds.

I can't remember, does Charles cook at all? Why not give him a recipe book and challenge him to make dinner every night of the week. That ought to keep him occupied and you can spend the week telling him how macho you find him (and sniggering to us about it).

pertelote · 21/12/2009 22:24

You make all of us laugh TS Buckets' idea sounds rather good though.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 21/12/2009 22:25

Oh oh that crazy woman they made a movie about, force him to watch that then produce the book (apparently it assumes total idiocy). Oh what's her name, funny voice, Meryl Streep plays her.

TwilightSleighing · 21/12/2009 22:27

JULIA CHILDS

PoinsettiaBouquets · 21/12/2009 22:28

Aha Julia Childs! That's the one. If I were American I think I would turn into her whenever I got drunk.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 21/12/2009 22:29

I bet she puked in a few bushes in her time.

TwilightSleighing · 21/12/2009 22:47

Buckets she is sooooo more like you than you could ever imagine. I heard a reporter say that she and her husband were like RABBITS...that they had the most amazing sex life.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 21/12/2009 22:48

LOL. This is me when drunk btw.

TwilightSleighing · 21/12/2009 22:56

LOL! Buckets when you're drunk you give people "little offenders"?????

TwilightSleighing · 21/12/2009 23:53

HELP! I KILLED THE THREAD!!!!

lwfhthevampireslayer · 21/12/2009 23:53

hello,

some photos here

is this a yawn emoticon.

lwfhthevampireslayer · 21/12/2009 23:54

otherwise all well.

lwfhthevampireslayer · 21/12/2009 23:56

apart from DS refusing to go in the immensely expensive imported from England fits in the lift double buggy.

I have been carrying him in a sling, which is a touch on the heavy side ...

LentilsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2009 00:04

Oh that's good news lwfh. Many, many congratulations. she is so gorgeous and ds is lovely too.

DH is a stern critic of other people's new babies but thinks she is beautiful and has a nice name. .

Dizzy - sorry to hear you feel so low. You have had an unbelievably hectic few months. Please be kind to yourself (and DH if you have any goodwill left over).

TS - you make me laugh. at the image of your DH's face as you gave your ultimatum about travelling.

It's a disastrous time of year to be heading about if you don't have to ...

Sympathies to everyone with tricky family situations.

Buckets if you could mail out some of that energy and enthusiasm I'd take a bag of it .

Ds was supposed to be in school tomorrow morning but it's cancelled so lots of lovely hanging out with friends time planned instead. All the santy presents are packed and just cooking to think of now.

What is everyone having for Christmas dinner?
Night all.

Buckets

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 22/12/2009 00:07

quickly on to say LWFH - she is beautiful

LentilsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2009 00:08

Ouch lwfh - are you okay physically with carrying him?

We need a small-gapper on with some ideas about coaxing him into the pushchair. Could dh take him out in it and race him at ridiculously high speeds in the park so that it starts to seem glamorous and cool?

That is obviously a scraping the bottom of the barrel suggestion.

TwilightSleighing · 22/12/2009 01:42

LWFH if he were a cat I'd say rub some fresh catnip on the pushchair and he'll settle right in. Since he's not....maybe putting cookies in his seat while it's parked in your living room (not in use) and watch him become interested in it.

All will be happy to hear that DH has (at the moment) dropped the travel talk and is now on to an old Christmas idea, the treadmill. I told him a month ago if he thought he'd use it that I'd figure out a way to purchase it.

Glad to see I didn't kill the thread. LWFH good save. AND EXCELLENT PICTURES! I find myself suddenly broody. Reality? Where are you?

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 22/12/2009 08:48

LWFH she is beautiful

Hope you are all OK. There is some nasty weather out there. We would be fine to get out and about as all the roads are clear except the residential side streets. Unfortunately that is where I live and my road is like an ice rink 50 metres from safe driving so instead we are going to to town on the bus like plebs in the old days [fgrrr]

dizzycringles · 22/12/2009 08:54

oh longway she is just utterly perfct, well done to you all - I just wish this stupid laptop was scratch and sniff

all fine up here, tis snowing and cold but other than that fine

I have blocked ears which is making everything very loud/echoey and I'm in a bad mood with the kids already this could be a long few days [meep]

dizzycringles · 22/12/2009 09:05

am trying to upload a video of DD1's panto debut onto facebook but unfortunately I am inept I wanted you all to see it so when we're walking down the red carpet at her first premier we could say we were all there at the beginning

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/12/2009 09:07

Rant time and I would like your honest honest opinions please. DH moaning about me not bringing in any income and I've been thinking. It was me who got DS1 diagnosed, it was me who organised his disability allowance, it was me who organised the extra child tax credits that entitles you to (not widely publicised, you find out by hanging on Mumsnet) and me who organised getting Carer's Allowance. Now the first two bring in £6000 a year together for the joint account. The CA is about £45 a week which is same as I was earning when doing my Sunday job and before that, was what DH used to 'pay' me for pocket money when I first went SAHM. Do you think I am entitled to call all this my contribution? It certainly wouldn't have happened if I were any less on the ball or out working fulltime (unless I was a benefits adviser LOL).

Longway Gorgeous gorgeous girl! Erm, why don't you sling the new baby and pushing DS in the regular pushchair?

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 22/12/2009 09:10

Hello hello Hello Hello Dizzy dizzy dizzy Dizzy

Well that was a crap night sleep. We got home at 11pm after going to dinner, dinner being interupted by a call from the boys in blue about office alarms going off and suspected break in, cue us rushing out mid dinner getting to sale room finding no polis but apparently they were ontheir way. DH want to go in I say no, we look for signs of break in nada, I say to DH 'that's not burglar alarm that's fire alarm, phone polis they say yes we realised it's not for us fire brigade on the way, 20mins later no firemen DH opens office nada - opens door to units next door finds fire control box and resets it, still no firemen . We phone them no not coming don't know anything about it, is there any sin of fire, we say No. okay they say will send someone later . We are now too late for dinner and are near 24hr tesco so popped in and got a few last things. on the way home get a call from ILs DD awake and calling for 'mummy' where are we? We get home - DD up and dancing and has been for over an hour. DD back to bed, shopping packed away. DH makes Bucks fizz to be festive, I have 2 sips and go to bed, DH finishes his and eats too may festive white choc covered oreos. Comes to bed at 2, he wakes at 3.30 feeling sick (unsurprisingly) goes of to do what he needs to and wakes DD, DD back to bed, DH back to bed, DD awake at 5 spend 20mins putting her back down she sleeps until 7 when we get up and DH sleeps on and is STILL sleeping.

HP enjoy town, I'm not sure I would use our busses today I just watched one go past sideways around the corner.

DH is taking DD out for Daddy DD coffee and buns this morning and I am back to bed. We have 1 NCT friend coming around today for tea later so need to tidy too.

back after my nap

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 22/12/2009 09:13

Sorry a novel from me again

PB - that is a whole load more money than a little weekend job would bring in, surely as you are getting your CA your job is being a carer for DS? isn't that what the allowance is about?

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/12/2009 09:15

Or am I rather sickly abusing my DS1's condition to avoid getting a job?

Public service announcement, as heard on radio yesterday: Did you know that if you break down on the motorway hard shoulder you MUST NOT stay in the car? Even in rain and snow you should climb right beyond the crash barrier. The RAC will see your car, you don't need to keep a watch for them. So keep warm and waterproof stuff in your boot ladies, eg I now have a couple of Ikea bags and the picnic rug. And never ever stop for a kiddy's pee stop on the hard shoulder.
