Struggling to load pages these days and saw we were over the 900 so took the liberty of starting a new thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Update - NO OFFER - she doesn't want the house now - how weird is that? So, back to square one, spent the day at the lovely spa baths to cheer us up, now tidying for another viewing tomorrow morning so no time to catch up, see you tomorrow

neenz · 27/10/2009 22:11

Aw Deb that is so disappointing . But these things tend to happen for a reason and work themselves out in the end - maybe it will give Nigel a bit longer to get used to the idea. Good luck for the weekend viewing.

Hey Sponge. How's M sleeping? Hope you're OK - is your DH off work?

bitofadramaqueen · 27/10/2009 22:18

Have had a more productive evening, yay!

LOL at Neenz and the new found outrage about PMT. I don't find the coil stops my PMT particularly. But my issues with the coil are well documented! I've come across so many mixed views on the mirena coil I think you can only give it a go and see if it works for you.

Deb how odd and deflating re: the offer.

Am off to hang some nappies to dry and off to bed. Night all!

Rolf · 27/10/2009 23:35

Shame about the offer Deb. Neenz I get terrible PMT. I hate it. I don't like artificial hormones either, though. If I am v careful about my diet and exercise it tends to improve but when I get onto a slippery slope of PMT/tiredness/anxiety/comfort eating then I am not very nice to live with . DH went through a spell of stage-whispering to the boys "Momma's got the craaaaamps" but stopped when DS1 repeated it at school!

PumpkinProject · 28/10/2009 00:16

Oh dear, just looking at this page and I see that Sponge is making me look bad by keeping up more than me! I think it may have been you that suggested no potty training until summer. Well in NZ it's summer now and I'm not going to try it yet, so looks like a years time for Ry. Coming up to 2 and 1/2 seems reasonable to me. (Altho recent nappies have been complete stinkers, so if they get any worse I may change my mind.) Anyone else get freaked out by raisins and dried apricots in nappies, man, dehydrated fruit gets big!!!

Deb - I've been keeping up enough to know that you must be feeling mightily p'd off right now. I am sorry, that offer sounded so good for you all.

I'd claim that I don't get PMT and never have....don't know if DH agrees.

BDQ - Glad you've had a productive eve.

Spider - I remember you mentioned P had stopped daytime naps, Ry did this a few weeks ago, then went back to normal. However we have now had a few nap free days, how about you?

Oh for goodness sake, it's quarter past twelve! I was just considering going back a few more pages, but sorry, it's not going to happen. Good night y'all!

abdnhiker · 28/10/2009 07:13

oh Deb, hugs! That must be an emotional rollercoaster for you. We had an offer fall through for our place and it was really hard - and we weren't planning anywhere near the change you are!

spongebrainbigpants · 28/10/2009 08:16

Deb, so sorry to hear about the offer - how gutting when it all looked so good. Very frustrating for you both.

Neenz, M is sleeping ok for a newborn - last night he fed at 11pm, 1am, 4am and again at 5am. Then woke up at 7.30am. He settles straight back to sleep as soon as he feeds which is wonderful and he sleeps sooo quietly it's quite unnerving! Thank god for my sleep monitor cos otherwise I'd spend the night with my hand on his chest checking he was breathing .

Dh is back at work today sadly - with my prolonged hospital stay and mastitis it hasn't exactly been the best paternity leave . On the plus side, I'm being eased back in gently to life on my own as A is in nursery today so once M decides it's sleep time again I'm going back to bed!

SpiderWilliam · 28/10/2009 08:56

Deb, that is crap.

PP - we had 3 days over a week of no sleep, but recently he has been sleeping more than normal (i.e. more than 35 mins). About an hour and a quarter yesterday. However this could be because P has decided not to bother with GMT, and is waking up v early. 4.30 am this morning, a new record by 10 mins. Of course it could be a vicious circle where the more he sleeps in the day the less he sleeps at night. Or, it might be a phase...

bitofadramaqueen · 28/10/2009 09:10

Hope today goes well Sponge. I remember feeling terrified when DH went back to work last year!

Am off again today - studying all day :-(. Abdn, the reward idea is a good one. I might give that a try!

systemsaddict · 28/10/2009 09:38

Glad I'm not the only one being woken up at 4.30. I am SO pissed off by this clock change as she had JUST got the hang of sleeping through the night - 3 nights in a row, unheard of - and now we are back to 4.30 wakings, and I am back to feeling like death again. GRRRR I cannot wait until she is in her own room and I can ignore her! I sound like a terrible mother but I know it would only take a couple of nights and she would be fine - but it doesn't work when she's next to the bed. Going slightly bonkers here!!

Deb so sorry about the offer. I hope something better comes along really soon.

systemsaddict · 28/10/2009 09:38

and sponge glad to hear A is in nursery, it saved my life when C was little!!

DebInAustria · 28/10/2009 10:31

Yep it's crap, as Spider says but we've just had another viewing and he might come back again tomorrow . I am not getting my hopes up again until someone actually signs for the house. It did all seem too good to be true really. We have told the agents though that we cannot move out now before the winter season as we have our 1st guests on 10th December and it would be very difficult to tie everything up and move out before then. So this means that we're settled here over the winter (yippee - laundry, snow clearing, toilets) and the boys are really happy to be having another Christmas and their Birthdays in this house. So now we need to try and get as many bookings as possible and make it a bumper year - anyone fancy skiing? Lots of availability in the small apartment, not so much in the big!

ktpie · 28/10/2009 10:46

Debs - rubbish about the offer, what a disappointment. Hope the viewing goes well today.

Sponge - hope you have a good day. Sleep sounds good.

Thanks for all the sympathy. BP and everything was fine last week when I had my MW appointment. Migraines started when I was on the pill which is the reason I came off it, had vision etc checked then and it was put down to hormones. I only had one when I was pregnant with J, MW didn't seem too concerned then. Also had dizzy spells last time and similarly MW not concerned. I will mention the recent episodes next appointment. I think I am just a bit rubbish at being pregnant.
DH had a good idea last night, he suggested putting reins on J when we go out, then if I start to feel dizzy I can just put him down and only have to cling on to the reins rather than fighting to hold his hand. I think I'll have to give it a go.
Right will stop moaning now because things could be worse!

pleasechange · 28/10/2009 11:21

deb - just wanted to add to everyone else's sympathies about the house, what a bummer. Sounds like at least now you know where you'll be the whole winter, so some certainty at least for a short while

ktpie - sorry to hear you've not been feeling so good. How many weeks are you now?

essie - how are you feeling today?

have just posted a trivial post on AIBU (am v bored!)

SpiderWilliam · 28/10/2009 12:24

PP Stop Press just saw the elusive stacking cups in M&S. Assume you are all sorted with them now, but happy to buy you a set if you are still hankering after them

pleasechange · 28/10/2009 13:23

are these a particular sort of stacking cups?

DebInAustria · 28/10/2009 13:51

The days getting so much better -not! Nigel has either food poisoning or a stomach bug - really not nice, he was very sick just before the viewing this morning and is not much better now, I have now got stomach ache too

sorry for the me me me posts atm, hello everyone, hope you're all OK

Essie3 · 28/10/2009 14:06

OMG, Deb, you're really having a bad time of it. Hope you don't come down with the bug too. And I fancy skiing, but how would we manage with Iestyn?

Allnew thanks for asking! I'm ok, but having a minor - hell no, it's major - crisis about my job at the moment. I'm having to prepare a course I'm not familiar with (English Legal History and I'm a Welsh legal historian, but the dept think that's within my comfort zone and teaching stuff I don't like will be modern English law. But no, this is also out of my comfort zone and I'm really panicky...)

Bet you regret asking now, Allnew.

Love to everyone else! Ktpie good idea on the reins, and great news on the sleeping, Sponge. I have totally forgotten to post the babygros. Is Michael always naked or are you managing?

spongebrainbigpants · 28/10/2009 14:07

Aw deb, it never rains but it pours .

Allnew, these are the gold standard of stacking cups - PP, Spider and I went searching for them last time we met up, but our search was in vain!

Right, had two hours sleep this morning so off to get some fresh air and make the most of this amazing weather.

spongebrainbigpants · 28/10/2009 14:09

x-psoted Essie! Don't worry about the babygros, we've had loads of parcels of tiny clothes turning up so have enough to get by - M is packing on the weight anyway so I'm sure he'll be in his normal size clothes soon enough .

Sorry to hear about the work stress.

Oh, and I'm with you on the skiing - well, not the skiiing, but certainly the holiday, but don't think I could manage with the boys!

pleasechange · 28/10/2009 14:18

debs that's not good. How are the boys?

essie - understand the panic. Sounds like you're in quite a difficult situation workwise in a number of ways

sponge - I see, will have to have a look for these great cups!

spongebrainbigpants · 28/10/2009 14:20

Lol! They're cheap, which always makes something great in my book .

neenz · 28/10/2009 15:18

Exactly how good can stacking cups be? We have two sets - the DTs don't seem too bothered with them (although they get them out every day and spread them across the floor - meaning I have to pick them all up again at end of the day )

Debs, hope you are feeling OK and not getting Nigel's bug

bitofadramaqueen · 28/10/2009 15:40

Have just been Reading past examiner reports for one of my exams. Pass rate regularly less than 50% of people pass. I'd forgotten quite how evil he was. Feel a bit sick

ktpie · 28/10/2009 15:47

I too am intrigued by the stacking cups, are they these ones?

Debs - hope Nigel gets better quick and you don't come down with it too, just what you need!

Essie - sounds stressful. Hope it turns out OK.

Allnew - I'm 26 weeks now.

It's been lovely and sunny here all day, got a load of washing out (so it will probably rain).
