Hey all! I'm in the car on the way home so thought I'd catch up on the crackberry... We decided to go to a working farm instead of the butterfly farm, hatton farm village, it was ace, definitely recommend it for our next meet-up!

It was lovely to meet those who went yesterday and finally put a voice to a name and face!! I was worried this morning that poppy had caught the sun too but think it's just slightly red on the crown of her head.

Jenwa, I was going to say the same thing as csws; if I hadn't known about your hearing impairment I would not have realised from yesterday.

See, now it just looks like I am saying the same as everyone else, but I forgot to add this to my post....

Jenwa - I totally forgot about your hearing problem until we were going back to the hotel and certainly nothing reminded me on the day! There is no way anyone would be able to tell without you telling them. I still can't believe how tall your lovely girls are! Wow!

Star - DS is the one in the navy pirate shirt and blonde messy hair. He is just 6 and going into year 2 in September. He got lost at one point, he followed a man he thought was DH over a bridge. Luckily he was sensible enough to sit down on a wall and wait to be found, which he was, by some staff. Bless him, he was very sheepish when he was brought back. He was a bit scared but mainly embarrassed!

oh poor little guy!!! 50ft I'm hoping for a bluewater meet up sometime

I'm losing weight quite drastically at the moment. I know it sounds "nice" but it's not. All my trousers are falling down and I feel really dizzy a LOT. I'm eating ben and Jerry's at the moment, though . This persistent anaemia... will it end when I stop bf, I wonder?

I also have this horrible cramp on the left side on my lower abdomen. It hurts most when I slow down/sit down.

Sorry for the moan... just feeling really weak. But a good day with a lovely class of children

I've worked out who you are MamaG (the 10 mutual friends were a clue!), so you're in!

Go to the GP Star. You're so tiny anyway that you can't afford to lose weight! You will start finding it hard to concentrate and you won't be able to work, when I was super skinny I found it hard to finish reading stories for DS at bed time. You need to find out why you're losing weight and get your anaemia sorted out once & for all.

star6 · 24/08/2009 20:43

That's just it... I've been to GP repeatedly. I get a blood test every week. And more "advice" on how to up my iron level. I can DEFINITELY afford to lose 15 lbs, but in a healthy way... not like this.

50ftQueenie · 24/08/2009 20:43

MamaG -you almost have the same name as my MIL. That freaked me right out!

Report
50ftQueenie · 24/08/2009 21:00

Star!!!! Doesn't that take you down to below 7 stone or under 98lbs in your language? That is way too skinny for an adult of our height! I was 86lb when I was 17 and my friend cried because she thought I was going to die because I was so skinny! You need your GP to take you seriously. You can't carry on with iron levels as low as they are. Have you been taking iron tablets? If you have and they're not working you need a second opinion. You can't afford to lose weight, believe me you'll feel terrible. You'll get chilblains in the winter, you shiver all the time, you'll start getting hairy as your body struggles to keep warm, your hair will get dry and brittle as will your nails, you're skin will get dry and spotty, you'll catch every illness going round..... Being that thin is not healthy. Where's Ronshar when you need her, she'd give you a good telling off! Don't feel like I'm bullying you, I'm just worried about you.

Hee hee! Look at this! There is my lovely M in her tiger stripe Bitti D'lish! Oh and DH is in it too. I will post a link for voting purposes once the website is up-dated. There were LOADS of people having photos so we are very pleased that M is one of the three she chose to use! Woohoo!

God I HATE MN on blackberry. It's just taken me 20 mins to get to this page again! Nightmare journey but nearly home now, pops just wouldn't settle, kept stopping at services to feed her.

Those of you with BB, how do u get to this page quickly??

Grr! I'm so frazzled! When poppy is crying like that I can usually escape to another room while DH has a turn.

2 mins to home anyway.

I'm with MM star - you really shouldn't lose any more weight. And you do need to get your iron problem sorted somehow. Have you ever had a thread on here specifically about this?

The hugs thing is really just about us being the antithesis to fluffy netmums and similar.

I want to see hmm's photos now too .

Oh thank god I'm home! [HMM gets on hands and knees and kisses the ground reverently in a pope-stylee]

What a frickin nightmare journey! We stopped at a lovely pub 1.5 hours from home just outside Solihull, asked for some mash with cheese and peas for Pops, it came out without the peas, then when she'd eaten loads I realised it was INSTANT mash!!!! Cue "discussion" with the manager about the level of salt in his crappy processed mash! Turned out to be 0.6mg salt in 100g, I reckon Pops only had 100g so should be ok. Then she just wouldn't settle on the way home, kept trying to feed her but she'd keep coming off, no wind coming up etc etc. She eventually settled feeding at Stafford services and went to sleep and didn't even wake up when I changed her nappy and got her dressed for bed just now!

Anyway, I'm supposed to be on the computer to upload the piccies, so better do that...

Oh and Star, I don't want to seem to be "ganging up" on you but I also agree with MM/ CSWS hon, you need to ask to see a specialist and maybe do a thread. Would it be a haematologist (sp) for iron levels? Without sounding like a total celebrity whore, didn't Posh have the same prob with weight loss after her first baby?

Hmm - When DH gave M pasta filled with cheese and parma ham I made him call NHS direct just to check. They said to cause damage the baby would have to consistently consume high levels of salt. A one off, as long as it's not poisonously high, will not cause long term damage.

Star - You might want to get yourself checked out for a food allergy. They can start in adulthood especially after pregnancy. I know wheat allergies cause anaemia and weight loss. It is something to consider alongside going to the GP.

Honeymoonmummy · 24/08/2009 22:44

Thanks MM, I was considering calling NHS direct until the guy said 0.6, they can have 1g salt a day until 1 can't they?

We have taken over 400 photos in the last 2 days!!

The FSA say less than 1g a day up until 12 months. Why the Financial Services Authority are commenting on child nutrition is a mystery to me.....

I used to audit an indep financial adviser actually. Just a normal audit with a couple of extra hoops to jump thro.

I have to say I always get a bit confused when they discuss the FSA on the radio and it's not the financial one. [simple]

Star, this mentions Victoria Beckham's weight loss. It was called post-pregnancy metabolism, which might just be another name for post-pregnancy liposuction and bulimia...
