Aaron is 8.6kgs (19lbs), dinky compared to my other two at this age! He's in anything from 6-9m to 2-3y clothes (big cloth bum )
He's given up crawling in favour of walking on hands and feet... everyone who sees him is convinced he's going to walk early [ekk][hides under desk singing 'lalalalalalalala']
Bumps and STW (and any other of ye with worries about allergies), i was speaking to a dietician about A yesterday and she said some interesting things.
She is of the opinion that slowly introducing risky foods while the baby is still bf-ing alot is the best course of action where possible, she says the protective agents in breastmilk can actually help a baby adjust to the new foods, especially if their own body is likely to react.
She's pretty much convinced me that the best course of action is to very slowly and carefully introduce milk, eggs and gluten into his diet. We've started with a tiny bit of milk since yesterday and will give it a week and then introduce gluten but not wheat, then another week or so and eggs, and finally wheat.
The reason i'm taking her advice is that the first thing she said was 'There are two schools of thought on allergy weaning and i'm on the fence as to which one is best' but once she'd spoken to me and heard about A's personal circumstances she was fairly certain that weaning gradually with small amounts of possible allergans while he's still bf-ing as much is best, especially if i eat the same food at the same time as him so he gets the best effects of my milk.
Sorry, i can't remember if either of ye are still bf-ing but if ye are, or even if ye're not it might be worth talking to a dietician and seeing what they recommend for you LO's
