Well done LM! I'm sure Theo was first, but we have gone v sleepy recently!
Dylan has just got over a very nasty sick and poop bug, poor kid was ill for well over a week - and now he has given it to mummy and daddy! we do like to share in our home!!
Hope everyone is ok, would be great to kickstart the thread again around birthday time!

luckymummy74 · 28/04/2009 19:58

here here...let's kick start the thread....

We're just waiting for chiken pox any day now, my niece has had it. No symptoms as yet and it's 3 weeks tomorrow since the girls were in contact with her when she had it.

My little Cerys is one on Thursday!!!

We'll be on holiday for Sophie's birthday but having a big party this weekend for them both.

Where is everyone???

We went to school yesterday for info about Dylan starting nursery in September, can't believe it's school time already! The lucky kids in Wales get a nursery place at 3, just seems too young!
He is going to rotate 2 weeks mornings and then 2 afternoons - the pm i have no probs with cos i work mornings and have regular child care already, but am is going to be a massive problem - the times are 9-12, i start wk at 8.30 and finish at 12.30. My in laws are close, but don't drive and i think it will cost an arm and a leg to get the nursery he is at now to take him and pick him up! DH can't really do much as he might be working in bristol by then and will be leaving early to get to work. Nightmare, any suggestions?

luckymummy74 · 01/05/2009 22:38

Brummie, try contacting the school for a list of local CMs who do drop offs at that school?

Sophie starts in Sept too! She is supposed to start Jan 2010 but the school she got into is only doing one intake in Sept instead of Jan and Sept. I think she is ready to go. I think it will be either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons a week.

Cerys was 1 yesterday...see profile for pics!!

Happy birthday Cerys!
Thanks for the tip LM, i'll give it a go!

Hello everybody
Well done on new thread.
I can't believe it was three years ago when we were all willing our little ones to put in an appearance.
Isla is having a party at a soft play area for her birthday. She is sooo excited! Her first real party. It is the weekend before her birthday, and I have taken the day off work on her real birthday, so we'll have the day together.

What is everyone else planning for birthday celebrations?

She has joined dancing classes like her big sister, and did her first show last weekend. I was so proud - she looked so cute, and yes I admit I shed a tear or two -(soppy mum emotion)

Hi ladies... Thought I'd say hi on the new thread. I have been meaning to post for ages but never think of anything interesting to say!

DS1 is getting a mini scalextric set for his birthday - we bought it ages ago so figured we'd just give it to him for his birthday... He has so much stuff, don't really want to get him anything else! Mean, I know! We are taking him to the cinema on Saturday though which I think he's love. And we're having cake with candles (he thinks candles are very important!) the day before his birthday as DH is working on the day!

He is really cute though - he's known for ages that his birthday is "may 13th" but he doesn't really know what that means. For the past week, he's asked every day "is today my birthday?" I've made him a countdown calendar thingy so he can cross off each day. He really is looking forward to being 3 although I'm not sure why...

He will be going to nursery in September too. We haven't had confirmation of his place yet but he should get it. 5 mornings a week - will be good for him. Brummie good luck with the childminders - is there any way you could get him to go permanant afternoons rather than 2 weeks about?

It's only 3 weeks till I go back to work again. DH and I have both got our part time approved though so we'll each work 3 days a week and have 1 day as a family. Should be good for the boys and us (hopefully!)

Right, after saying that I had nothing to say, I think I've waffled for ages... Promise I'll pop on more often and say less!

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 12/05/2009 21:07

LM, our thread has been crashed!!!

Lovely to hear from you plama and asuwere!

It was Dylan's birthday on the 7th, and this has been the first chance i have had to post since . We had a family party for him and my mom made him a fantastic humpty dumpty cake! I'll upload the photos when i can. When i ask him how old he is now he says 'free' which is quite cute!

Asuwere- i wish we could have Dylan on perm afternoons, but the morning session is longer than the afternoon and they cover different things so the school won't budge on the rotation, bit of a pain!! oh well, i'm sure we will sort something!

Dh has got a new job, hurray! His company was closed down at the end of last year, but he is still working there at the mo as he is the financial controller and is tying everything up. his new job is in bristol which will mean a lot of travelling, but hopefully a little less stressful than his current job, fingers crossed

plama · 21/05/2009 17:39

Happy birthday Isla!
Just finished decorating her birthday cake with Dolly Mixtures and mini marshmallows. Icing has turned out a bit too pink - but she'll love it.
Just got more info home from school today about DD1 moving to Junior school in Sept. It's making me aware of how quickly my girls are growing up. (feeling a bit sad, but need a good slap to tell me not to be so silly )

MrsThePoint · 25/06/2009 16:37

Oooh - this is where you went! I was LFS but name changed. DS finally decided he was happy to give up his nappies 4 days before his 3rd birthday, and has been doing great ever since! Still wears night nappy, but otherwise doing well.

Plama I know what you mean about them growing up - DS is so grown-up now he goes to nursery. I pick him up and ask what he's done and (just like a teenager actually) says 'nothing' - it makes me feel quite sad that I don't know what he does for a large part of his day (well 2 and half hours seems a long time to me)! Hey-ho!

I guess when DC2 arrives I'll not have the time for that. EDD still 11th Aug, so not too long to wait now. DS is quite excited and said to me the other day 'baby is getting quite big now Mummy' looking at my tummy!

asuwere · 03/09/2009 15:19

Hi ladies,

have 5mins peace so thought I'd bump the thread and see if anyone else is about! How is everyone?

DS1 started nursery last week - he was so happy to go and just left DH at the door! It is good for him to be so settled but a bit when he said "I don't need Mummy and Daddy anymore because I'm a big boy now!"

Took him on a trip on Thomas (tank engine) at the weekend which he loved although he enjoyed seeing Thomas more than actually going on him! I enjoyed it though!

Not much else going on here though. DS3 is walking about now - he's getting very cheeky! Am expecting DC4 in February which is exciting!

Hope everyone else is well. Mrsthepoint/LFS - did DC2 arrive safely? Any sibling rivalry?

luckymummy74 · 05/09/2009 09:07

I'm still here!!!

All well here, DD1 starts nursery school in Nov. She's at playgroup now 4 afternoons a week.

DD2 is 16 months now and a little gem. Gets cuter by the day.

My sister got married last Saturday and we were all bridesmaids which was lovely....they looked so cute (some pics on my profile).

asuwere no 4???!!!! Congratulations and lots of respect to you!!! 2 enough for me, DH getting 'snipped' next week!!

asuwere · 17/09/2009 18:29

lucky glad someone else is still around

Your girls do look very cute - and clean!! Any time I dress up the boys nicely, by the time the camera comes out, they always have some mess somewhere! Boys!

I've had quite a few comments about being mad but DH and I both agreed on 4 when having DS1 so I haven't felt the family was complete until this one arrives It'll be fun!! (she says trying to convince herself!)

luckymummy74 · 19/09/2009 15:32

My neighbour has 4 boys.....aged between 3 and 12. I am in awe of her.

Keep in touch....I hope some of the others turn up again....Hockey???

Congrats on expecting no.4 asuwere - we had our DD on 8 Aug (a couple of days early) so she's 6 weeks now. DS loves her to bits and so lovely to her, but is a bit of a pain to me sometimes - he just wants my attention. To be expected! I'm just glad he likes nursery! Hope all is well with everyone!

luckymummy74 · 22/09/2009 21:01

Mrs congrats on birth of your DD, welcome to the challenging but rewarding world of two littlies!!!!

asuwere · 25/10/2009 14:23

Congrats MrsThePoint (just got your name as I typed it! made me ) Good to hear that DS loves DD - always the worrying point in case they don't get on...

I really don't think DS3 will like DC4 but he'll just have to cope!

Nothing much new to report here. DS1 is still loving nursery, he spends his weekends asking when he gets to go back! Although when we pick him up and ask him what he's done, we still get "can't remember" or "nothing!" It's like a fun mysterious world he goes to for 2.5hrs a day!

Hope all are well

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 15/11/2009 08:50

Hi All, great to catch up on little ones and tons of pregnancies, congrats to all!! Think i'm the only one with one now!
Having a bit of a rough time in the brummiemom household at he mo - dh went into hosp on thurs to have his gall bladder out in the bupa hosp cos i've got company health insurance. Well lets just say that a nicked artery and a transfer to the university hospital hasn't been the result we were expecting and wanted and the poor bloke is having his 3rd general anaesthetic in 4 days today to having packing removed from where his gall bladder was. I am one very upset and stressed girly at the mo - and being a nurse too makes me the one all the family memebers ask as to what everything means and what is happening, which is understandable but i just want to look after and get my husband better
Dylan has been with my mom and dad this weekend and knows his mummy is looking after daddy in hospital, but i miss him so much and feel so guilty for leaving him. Will try and keep his routine for next week to keep him normal, so school in the afternoon around visiting hours! Fingers crossed all will be well soon!

MrsThePoint · 15/11/2009 22:46

OMG Brummie, your poor DH! I think DS will be totally ok, but this maternal guilt sucks! Take care, and love to your family!

We're all well, DD now 14 weeks old, where does the time go? DS loving nursery still, and now getting prep for Christmas.

You guys?

luckymummy74 · 18/11/2009 17:27

Hi all,

Bit of a quiet thread now hey?!

brummie I hope your DH is OK now? Poor thing.

Sophie started 'nursery school' a couple of weeks ago and loves it! She goes every afternoon. It's a bit of a pain cos we can't do much else the rest of the day but hey ho!

Cerys is now 18 months and v v cute, but also v annoying!! INTO everything!!!

I'm trying to sort out a new job, to go from NHS to private physio....fingers crossed!

brummie hope your DH gets better soon. Remember to try and get a rest yourself when you can too! Easier said than done I know but try as can be very tiring running back and forward to hospital, dealing with in laws and looking after Dylan.

LM good luck with the new job!

DS1 managed to get a wristband at nursery last week - kids get them if they've been good and followed the rules all week. DS1 has always said that he doesn't want one but now that he's had one, he's very impressed and can't wait to try and get another! V cute!

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 21/12/2009 18:27

Just a quickie, DH is much better now, thanks for the well wishes! His scar measures a huge 10 inches across his tummy but the main thing is he is getting better every day and he is home with us!!
Attempting to get ready for xmas, bit behind this year because of DH!!

Merry Christmas all of you.

asuwere · 04/02/2010 10:28

all quiet in here again... you'd think we all were busy with children and work or something!

DD was born on Friday so DS1 is now loving being a big brother again! He is very cute - his nursery teacher is constantly getting updated with what his sister is doing! Very cute!

Not a lot else going on though.

Brummie - glad to hear that your DH is recovering. Hope all is back to normal now.

Hope everything is good with everyone else.

Oh, and Happy New Year!!
