Ha ha ha! That made me chuckle Myjob! I think that a cartoon poo is fine now she's eating food. DS once did a poo on a plate when he was nappyless, obviously he was mobile at the time, we didn't tuck a plate under his bottom.

I have lost some weight but I seem to put on loads when pregnant. I eat everything that didn't move out of the way fast enough when I was pregnant with DS so it was no wonder I got so fat. But with dd, I was really good and still put on the same amount of weight. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now, it needs to come off!

Oh and for me it's more than

Marthasmama · 21/03/2009 14:51

Ate not eat, opps!

Honeymoonmummy · 21/03/2009 16:51

MM, I thought you meant you used paper plates under DS until I read on, not a bad idea really!

I hate hate hate that I can't do any exercise to lose some weight. I'm still at least half a stone heavier than pre-pregnancy weight.

Just been for long walk with grandparents, they can't get hang of pram/ carseat so i can't let them go alone and my knee is really aching now, really needed to stay at home and do some housework. DH is working from home all weekend...again. Managed to get the nursery cleared out this morning by staying up from 6 when Pops (and DH) went back to sleep till 10.30

Honeymoonmummy · 21/03/2009 16:52

But I did get my bath first thing!

Marthasmama · 21/03/2009 18:47

Hmm - I got up at 6.30 with the kids this morning while DH slept as all he did was moan about M waking up so much. Tell me about it! He's been away all week, in a nice hotel room, sleeping all night with no crying baby. I, on the other hand have been getting up more often in the night than when M was newborn! Plus he sleeps while I feed and get her back to sleep. Men really don't know they're born do they? Sounds like you had a worse morning than I did though, I hope DH lets you sleep in on Mother's Day, and brings you breakfast in bed.

Pistachio - Throat infections are an excellent way to lose a few pounds aren't they! I had quinsy when I was 17 and I lost a stone, but I looked terrible as I'd only been 7 stone to start with. They best thing I had for weight loss was salpingitis. It was agony but I lost two stone in three weeks as I couldn't keep anything down, not even water! I don't think it was really worth it though. I know what you mean about feeling guilty about cutting down, but I figure that I have more than enough fat for us both to live off for a good few years!

M has our grown her 0-6 Grobags I can't believe I'm going to have to buy more. At least the next size lasts a year. Had a lovely trip to Bluewater today as DS needs summer clothes. He still had some 3-4 clothes in his cupboard and he's 6 this year!

pepperrabbit · 21/03/2009 19:25

Evening all,
MM - I was just about to send DH up into the attic to get the next grobags out - DDs little toes look a bit curled up!
We had another terrible night where DD has a cold after her chicken pox and just couldn't breathe. I'm beginning to feel like I've got jetlag - but without the lovely holiday first! I gace up at 5.30 and kicked DH awake - so he looks rough as he's been up since 5.30, and I look rough cos I was up till then!
Kids had 2 parties to go to today, so they've happily eaten junk party food all day.
I suspect when DDs better I'll need to start on the baby rice as she's giving me that look after her bottles. To be fair tho, she does have a sort of routine where she has a bottle at 8am/12noon/4ish then after bathtime so 7.30ish so it's not all bad
Sorry, I'm just waffling on about me all the time at the mo. Will be less insular soon - I promise!

pepperrabbit · 21/03/2009 19:27

Oh, yes, happy half a birthday Naomi!

star6 · 21/03/2009 19:32

Well, Q still fits in his 0-6 growbags. I think he's going to be short. I hope he grows more but DH and I are both quite little so there's not much hope for our little man... I've always had such a complex about my height (I'm 5ft 2 now, so not that short anymore, but at age 13 I was still 4ft and didn't reach my full height until 18. late bloomer).

Loving the purees! I love making them!

Marthasmama · 21/03/2009 20:02

Star - Ds is quite little, I'm 5ft 3 and dh is 5ft 9 so we're no giants either. Ds is one of the smallest in the class but all his good mates are only within an inch of him/each other. I used to stress, but don't worry now. I think dd is going to be taller.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2009 21:46

Ds has been in 6-18 month grobags for ages!

Pistachio . I didn't say that there was anything wrong with purees - just that I was surprised that that was your choice. Ds' motor skills aren't up to feeding himself peas yet, so I figured a quick whizz would just make life easier. I am helping ds a bit with his blw .

He did very well with his food today. I gave him some roast chicken for lunch, and he loved it! I gave him a lump, helped him get it to his mouth and left him holding it there whilst I pottered about the kitchen making lunch for everyone else, and when I went back to him I was expecting to find it in his lap, but it had all gone! So we carried on and he ate a load more of it too .

You sound pretty down at the moment hmm. Remember that PND can still kick in at this stage.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 21/03/2009 21:49

Yeah, that thought had occurred to me too CSWS.

BTW, does chewing the corner of my novel count as BLW???

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/03/2009 22:18

As long as you didn't pressurise him to finish a chapter .

I'd have a chat with your hv or GP then hmm. Can't do any harm.

Morning ladies, I've been away for a bit, so a lot to catch up on. Went to my parents for a night and then we've had relatives staying.

Sorry to hear about colds and shocking sleep. We've had some terrible nights over the last week too. (At 4 o'clock in the morning I swore I was off to get baby rice the next day, but I'm glad I didn't, as talking to my relatives about various allergies means I know I need to wait for a bit longer) last night much better (only fed ds 3 times), but I've got a HUGE lump in my boob and it hurts. It runs all the way from my chest to my nipple and is so tender. Boo.

Sorry to hear about your ovary MM. Does it necessarily mean that you wouldn't be able to add to your family if you wanted to? A friend of mine had her ovary removed and managed to pop two children out afterwards. Of course your situation may be different.

I hope you all got nice mothers day treats. I've got a relaxing day ahead, hopefully. And "ds" has booked me a pampering manicure in a very chi-chi looking new salon that we saw the other day. I've never had a manicure before, so I'm quite excited.

star6 · 22/03/2009 10:01

DH "thought" I wanted to celebrate the american mother's day (in May) and not this one I think he just forgot to be honest. He's now doing some work on his laptop. I spent the entire morning cleaning. I'm waiting for Q to wake up then I think I'll take him somewhere with me to have a special day together just the two of us. DH loves holidays - he even created a fantastic irish feast for st. patricks day... so I don't get it. Maybe he just doesn't think I deserve a mother's day. I'm so disappointed. Sorry for the whinge. i didn't even want anything. I'm not materialistic. All I wanted was for him to say happy mother's day. That's it. He hasn't done it.
When I brought it up yesterday, he said, oh I thought you wanted to do the american one. I said, when do we ever do anything american?? then he said, I'll think of something to do for you tomorrow, so I said don't bother.

star6 · 22/03/2009 10:13

I just want to whinge a bit more... everyone keeps sending me texts/emails asking how my "first mother's day" is going and it's just making me want to cry! DH still hasn't said a WORD! I just KNOW that he thinks I'm not a very good mom.

aubergenie · 22/03/2009 10:25

Oh Star, that's awful. I'm sure he doesn't think you're a bad mum. Do you think he took you at your word yesterday when you said don't bother? I know that men can be a bit literal sometimes.

pepperrabbit · 22/03/2009 10:58

star DH did this on our first Mother's Day. He thinks it's materialistic crap and had refused to get anything.
That is until I burst into tears and stormed out of the house (without DS1..). Luckily I had the presence of mind to take my coat, keys and purse. He was most contrite after that and has always made a real effort since - he just genuinely hadn't realised how much it meant to me. I expect your DH is the same. Tell him!

This year I have a mini greenhouse - DH is building it now while simultaneously cooking a roast lunch and doing riot control over the DS's .
I am swanning about.

Honeymoonmummy · 22/03/2009 12:52

Star I'm sure that your DH doesn't think that at all! Maybe he wanted to use the US date so you didn't feel so sad about your mum? And how lovely to get happy mothers day messages from your friends!

Well, I have my proof re DF - Poppy has been sick loads today, it could only be from the lactose in the lactulose. It made me realise how much she actually has improved in recent weeks.

I got breakfast in bed with a bunch of flowers, 2 new books and a home-made card from Poppy which has her photo on the front. I had no idea Poppy was so creative

Yay MM re crawling BTW, sorry to hear you're poorly Myjob.

Marthasmama · 22/03/2009 13:33

That's better than yesterday then hmm! Sounds like a lovely card. I got a gorgeous homemade one from DS. Dh took the kids out to see his mum (which meant I did have to, yay!) so I had to express as M had been out for so long. I got 7oz out of one side and 11 in total !

Star - He's a man, unless you give them specific instructions, they always get something wrong. And even then they don't always get it right. You're a fabulous mum and Q tells you that every day, every time he smiles. Dh doesn't think you're a terrible mum, he's just not thought about the significance of your first mother's day as a mummy. Dh had better make a stupendous effort on the American Mother's Day.

I was sorting out M's 6-9 month clothes. The Next ones are massive! I can't believe that M will ever be that big . I getting my hair cut on Tuesday! Yay! I'm going short as my face is a bit thinner now I've lost a tiny bit of weight.
