Cor, I missed a bit last night didn't I? Ladybee got all hot and bothered it seems

Mol up half the night again - slept beautifully til 4.30 then awake and crying on and off for 2 hours - tried leaving her a bit, tried cuddling, tried giving a drink. Nothing. Til 6.45 when I finally plonked her in bed with us and then she slept for a whole half hour!

And now she is perfectly happy and destroying my lounge while I am a wreck.

What got me last night was that she lay there crying 'ma ma mama mama' and then I couldn't leave her! And when I got her into bed she gave a happy little sigh and went 'mamama' in a contented way. Manipulation, that's what it is.

EllieG · 24/02/2009 09:35

And cos I have been ignoring her she's contented herself with taking all the nappies and nappy bags out of the change bag and they are now strewn across the room. Oh dear. And she's just about to take all my cards out of my wallet.

Should probably go.

EllieG · 24/02/2009 11:52

How come you lot are never around when I am? I think is a conspiracy. Am off to try and find some people to talk to, since even DD has got bored of me and gone to sleep.

TheShipsCat · 24/02/2009 12:51

Hi Ellie - I'm here, but you've probably gone now...possibly looking for your bank card if dd got hold of your wallet.

It's a bit slow at work at the moment, so I've been trying to fit on my summer clothes for our holiday...and it's not as bad as I dreaded, which is a relief. It's not good, either, but luckily the Caribbean South Americans all have decent tums and bums, so I should fit in quite nicely, just a very pale version. Going to book in for a haircut and wax when I go on a business trip to Thailand next week in the hotel spa.

I've been looking for a toy for dd2 - small and all-absorbing which will occupy her for the flight. Nothing I've seen fits the bill so far - does anyone have any ideas?

Peachy · 24/02/2009 13:32

Smalltoys- um,ds4 likes those thats not my books, he will look atthose for hors

other faves non plane-able:maisie soft ball, xylophone and pullalong ducks LOL

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/02/2009 13:55

Mimi likes a cube she has, one side has a turny mirror, others have beads, twirly bits, etc.

Booking dh's flights today and i am so that i dont think im going to let him go anymore . its only 5 weeks away...[eek]

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/02/2009 13:56

pullalong ducks sound great! mimi has a dog

TheShipsCat · 24/02/2009 14:43

Lol at ball, xylophone and pullalong ducks on flight! That would make me popular! We've got lots of those 'That's not my...' books, which are great, and I'll take. Cube sounds good too - is it soft and smallish?

Scorpio - how long is DH going for?

VictorianSqualor · 24/02/2009 14:47

Alex's favourite is a little toy mobile phone. It's the top one here.

DS1 has learnt a song today at school. Apparently it goes..."Who built the ark? No-one, no-one"

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/02/2009 14:50

2 weeks

TheShipsCat · 24/02/2009 14:55

scorpio - That's longish, but it'll be gone before you know it.... Can you plan any babysitters so you can go on a couple of girls' nights out?

VS, father christmas gave A one of those, and it's great! But its a little overplayed with here, iykwim. I want to take toys she hasn't seen before for the new toy wow factor!

chipmonkey · 24/02/2009 16:30

TSC, We got this playgym for ds4 and although we never use the gym, it came with loads of little toys that he likes.

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/02/2009 16:32

yep, i plan on going on some nights out, and some day trip things with kiddies to pass the time

TheShipsCat · 24/02/2009 16:36

CM - that looks great.

chipmonkey · 24/02/2009 18:09

LOL TSC! Would it make you feel any better if I told you that one is just one example of how I am taken in by marketing? The toys are good but the thing itself is a disaster! It won't stay up and the "tummy time" cushion burst afeter ds3 walked on it!

EllieG · 24/02/2009 19:14

Mol likes musical instruments at moment, but I guess you wouldn't be too popular with them either!

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/02/2009 20:16

Ellie

SalLikesCoffee · 24/02/2009 21:14

Hello hello hello everybody. This is just about the most awake you'll see me in weeks, as I'm giving up Coke (as in the teeth-eating-beverage, not the drug, even if probably just as bad) for Lent. Am all caffienne-ed up.

What oh what has happened to us - one day all dodgy child-marrying practices, Ladybee wanting to hide the fact that she's chatting me up, and I come back to toys? (Cool ones btw, am interested in plane suitable ones myself.)

Ok, maybe a bit heavy on the smileys there - off to eat pancakes and will chat again when I'm all back to general tiredness. Bye bye.

LadyBee · 24/02/2009 21:34

Ellie babybee is obsessed with taking things out of things too! - nappies out of the basket we keep them in, wipes out of the packet, cards out of my wallet. I keep meaning to rearrange our kitchen a bit to put our plastics in a lower cupboard so he can thrill himself with a door (2nd favourite thing) and taking the plastics out!
TSC - i was going to suggest the mobile phone toy too. maybe you could find something similar in terms of buttons, lights and sounds - camera?

SalLikesCoffee · 24/02/2009 23:33

Helloooo, where are everybody?

Quiet evening here. R was already asleep when I got home, so that was a bit rubbish. He had a little cry earlier, and it was nice cuddling the poor thing.

VictorianSqualor · 25/02/2009 11:11

I've just changed DS1's name by need poll.

Do you think a middle name is massively important?
I changed DDs name to DPs surname a while ago but didn't do DS1's as you need to go more in depth if someone else has parental responsibility, but anyway, just did DS1's and his middle names were dickhead XP's forenames.
DS has been saying for ages he wants to be called Rupert (a name which both DP and I adore) and I don't think XP deserves to have DS1 named after him, so I have changed it by deed poll to Bobby Rupert DP'ssurname.
What do you think??

Peachy · 25/02/2009 11:29

vs why not if he likes it? might have left one meself but I have No Backbone

I think in anopther dimension I might havemarriedaRupert- dh's identical twin at work (same hair, personality, everything) but dhasked me out first pmsl (we found out later fil'sreal mum had same are surname as rupert; very odd, they'd even weat matching outfits tomeetings by chance).

Anyoneelseslo given up happy bathing? Bas hastaken to screaming if I take him near it. There's a pic on my profile of how much he loved it just a few weeks back . We dont havea shower.

LOL at thesong vs. It's theschool eisteddfodd Fridayand ds2's song goes ''

am going to look into basic welsh classes, I keep getting notes home saying 'please reinforce usage of.....' and ??????

Peachy · 25/02/2009 11:30

oh scorpio hate it if dh goesaway

TheShipsCat · 25/02/2009 12:12

VS - that sounds just right, if that's what DS1 wants. It's nice he got to choose. Stuff xp.

CM - yes, that does make me feel less inadequate! I sometimes wish I was more influenced by marketing, then the kids would get better stuff rather than broken, already-vomited on crap from charity shops and ebay!

Sal - well done for giving up something for Lent. Maybe I'll give up coke too, nice easy one for me as I don't drink it. Now coffee would be tougher...

I am off to look for a camera/phone, small, quiet but totally absorbing toy. Where's Woolworth's when you need it...

TheShipsCat · 25/02/2009 12:50

CM - I've been thinking about your burst cushion. We have one of those blow-up rubber ring play things, which was 2nd hand for dd1 and used to deflate every couple of days. When I dragged it out of the cupboard for dd2, the hole was much bigger and she would end up lying down after just a few minutes. I wrote to Galt Toys, and they sent me another inner tube just for £5 incl P&P. It might be worth a shot for a new cushion for you?
