OOPS I LOVE THOSE BOOTS!! They remind me of Wonder Woman's boots. I want a pair of those too.

TwilightSurfer · 12/01/2009 23:00

Wonder Woman Boots NOW THAT WOULD KEEP DH IN THE OFF THE STREETS!!

Thanks everyone.
ataraxis the problem is that DP won't lay down the law at work about things like that. As far as he's concerned that's just how the working culture in this country is, and 'you have to make choices'.
Don't know what I'm going to do about going back to work. Need a trainee style job, but all of those are in London. Can't work in London. But I didn't spend 3 years and a lot of money getting a degree just to end up in the kind of jobs I was in pre-uni. Frustrating.

Sorry had to post and run there, DS being a total arse after about 15 wake ups last night. Feeling a bit myself, also

You are not the thread loser, this is Ryanair's fault, not yours. No one will think you didn't make the effort, you got up before 5am ffs. There'll just have to be another meetup, that's all. Sounds like oops won't make it today due to her sicky DH, and No1 had been trying to arrange to go for ages but thwarted at the last minute by her back, so I'm sure there'll be the appetite for another.

(Who's the voice of reason?)

rotterpotter · 13/01/2009 09:30

VG you sound really fed up. Is there anything you could do today to take your mind off it a bit?, Go for lunch, have a swim, get mindless drunk?

Haven't caught up with everyone yet, but was surprised to see you here this morning VG and saw why. and x 3 for you. That's basically what happened to DH when he came down to see us for a day before Christmas and Ryanair responded in a really similar way. We reckon that it's their response to tough times - rather than put prices up just be really ruthless in keeping to their small print and forcing people to book their tickets again. Doesn't make it any better for you though. DH was so hacked off with them he spent virtually the same as they wanted from him but spent double the length of time on the train as he refused to make it work for them.

Yes VG but only because she gives out blowjobs to the captain and co-pilot , or is that

Really sorry about your thwarted trip VG, Ryanair are fucking great big tosspots .

Dh got home last night and fiddled with the wire to the boiler - which then frigging starts working again! He promptly cancelled the gasman, got the fire working, and then re-erected the curtain pole. What a hero. Gasman arrived 45 mins after we had cancelled him . ho hum.

Am thinking of going hard core on O's night wake-ups and not feed him but just get him back to sleep. Hopefully this will deter him from waking and will encourage him to take formula from a bottle. It's what I ended up doing with ds1. Just got to pick a date. Some time soon .

pertelote · 13/01/2009 11:04

Aw VG what a bloody nightmare! for you. Do come to London instead if you can!

Wow CC I like the sound of your DH! What a useful chap to have around

cyteen · 13/01/2009 11:10

OMG! I always knew Ryanair were thieving bastards but never knew just how mercenary they really are So angry for you VG and so glad you didn't give them any more money, even though it meant disappointment. Missing out on something you've been looking forward to so much is the pits - I remember missing out on a weekend trip to Amsterdam with about 30 of my mates because of shitty logistical issues, I was so gutted I cried for the whole weekend. My flatmate gave me a Valium, I was that upset!

Thanks all for cot tips, Joe absolutely loves it! Think I had very much underestimated just how cramped he was in his basket...he spent all night kipping with his arms stretched out and a look of peace on his face

poppysocks · 13/01/2009 11:15

Hope you have a lovely lunch with DP VG.

How's your back today No1? Hope it's better today, but not so much better that you think you could have made it to Bristol (iyswim!).

Hope your DH is now recovered and you made it to Bristol oops. It's me in this household who eats the out of date stuff. It's usually fine...

How did the first night in the cot go, cyteen? If he isn't in a grobag yet, I would massively recommend them as it makes going away so much easier as you just take it with you and hey presto they feel like they're at home.

Sorry to hear about your HV woes ALBS. I think we should start a MN campaign to encourage people not to listen to HVs. So many of us have been upset by their 'advice' in the last 6 months, whether our babies are at the top or bottom of the charts. I hate to think what state I'd be in without the voices of reason on here (you know who you are!).

Hope things are better with DP this morning ann. As usual the voices of reason have said everything, but I hope that you are able to sit down at some stage and have a chat and maybe get some time just the two of you to get out and have some fun together.

Lots of lovely boots on here last night and spectacular bargains too. What a pain in the whatsit that your size was the only one left sazzles. I never go back during sales to places where I bought things at full-price. Just tooooo painful. I'm contemplating what I'll be wearing tomorrow for my work day. Thinking the boots will be broken out. Either that or I might wear something v. bf (and pg) unfriendly that hasn't had use for a year now .

I'm so impressed by those of you who have the energy to make an effort and put on make-up . I'm afraid that I live in jeans, converse boots and top that hide the muffin top. No make-up ever. Am thinking it's time to tackle the mop that calls itself my hair though...

Right.... SO must be off now. Poor DD1 has been drawing for AGES now while I catch up and DD2 is bound to wake up soon so better do something educational and stimulating before that happens.
