AMerryMariAndHerHappyNewTwins · 19/12/2008 19:01

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 19/12/2008 20:05

evening all

margot am loving the image of me being the lovechild of Nigella/Anthea/Supernanny - I can promise you, I am absolutely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thrive on routine, and when I am not in one, things go to pot - Our house is not big, and has crap storage - I like to sit down of an evening without looking at plastic tat (toys!) and therefore have to be quite orderly. I certainly don't have colour co-ordinated airing cupboards! I am a greedy bint, hence why I love cooking and love my food - as I don't have any other vices, good food is my one induldgence (and hencw why I have 3 stone to lose .

Tiger and I went to claridges this afternoon - she was a little sh**!!!!! In the nicest possible way of course! But very, very unsettled....so actually, no Supernanny either!!!!!!!!!! (although they are all asleep now!)

Hana I felt the same with DS2 name - and whilst | stil love the name, he has grown into it and really suits it IYSWIM. It is ahuge responsibility, and does take a while....do you feel he is something else then??????? What does DH say??

Twinkling Can't belive your round of hosptial trips - hope things are good now.....

daisy how was the doctor?! Sexy or what?! Verdict on your booty please

obs you sound in such good spirits. Almost as if you have decided that you are just going to get on with it, come what may. That is so lovely to hear. I tried calling you at the start of the week, but you didn't pick up, I thought perhaps you were under the kosh, seems you were too busy getting a life Good on ya girl.

merimari i am so in awe of you coping with twins, a 3 year old and suffering from your chronic fatigue, you must be made of stern stuff!!

vbab glad yu sound chirper today.

Hi to everyone else...I am home alone as DH on work do. expecting him home twatted later, sprouting rubbish.

anyone watching Jamie?!

tistheCEEBEEtobejolly · 19/12/2008 20:15

Evening all

Thanks for the lovely comments about my boys - I, of course, think they are gorgeous

Choc I echo what Pinky says - I used to put DS1 down asleep most of the time and he still slept through the night so all the stuff about babies who are put down asleep needing you in the middle of the night was certainly not true in my case. He can now settle himself quite happily and has been doing since he was about 1 year - it really is not making a rod for your own back - enjoy the snuggly time whilst you can!!

Hana F will grow into his name you know - I felt so weird saying DS1's name out loud for months (and it is one of the most popular names ever so nothing 'weird' about it!) but it soon becomes normal.

Daisy are you still at A&E??? Really hope everything is ok. DS1 had pyloric stenosis (HM2J bless you for remembering ) which basically means the muscle at the exit of the stomach into the intestines carries on growing and eventually blocks the exit so milk can't go anywhere except back up from where it came from (i.e. vomiting) and usually in a projectile fashion!! They have no idea what causes it but it is more common in first-born boys for some reason - but it is easily fixed by keyhole surgery. However, the first few weeks of DS1's life were quite traumatic as we daren't go anywhere in case he puked, me and DH were constantly on edge waiting for the next puking session etc and having to take him to the theatre for the op was just the worst thing ever to the extent that me and DH seriously thought we wouldn't have another child at the time as we couldn't face going through anything like that again....but, fingers crossed, Sam seems ok now. He hasn't been sick since the early hours of yesterday and has had 1 4oz bottle today and been ok (he seemed to be sick if he drunk a lot of milk).

Twinkling I can completely sympathise with what you have been through these last few days (see above!) - sending your tiny baby for an op really is awful. But it is over with now and you can move on... although sorry that it doesn't seem to have helped him settle!

Am a bit down today as I went to Next to try and get some nice trousers to wear on Christmas day rather than my maternity jeans - the size 18's, whilst they fit on my legs and bum (Which is bad enough!) barely did up around my tummy and gave me the biggest muffin top in the world I really need to seriously diet in the New Year - is the diet club still on???

tistheCEEBEEtobejolly · 19/12/2008 20:18

Dozy x-posts. I too have 3 stone to lose (at least) which, by my reckoning, will take at least 21 weeks (at 2lb a week) It sounds so hard thinking of it in those terms!!!

Also good to know that even GF babies can throw you occasionally

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 19/12/2008 20:31

ceebee tis you and I on the diet for sure then. My problem is the same - it is ALL tummy....aso bought new jeans, really baggy on bottom and thighs, but tight on tummy.....not a good look shall we start a diet thread?????? I can't wait to get the all clear from Dr as getting serious gym withdrawal symtoms......am so unfit now as only did 1 class a weeka dn occasional swim during pG.

misdee · 19/12/2008 20:32

i am not doing any dieting this side of xmas. but first week the kids go back to school i am retsrting slimming world.

AMerryMariAndHerHappyNewTwins · 19/12/2008 20:36

ceebee, i have given up on clothes! my target is 2.5 yrs to get back into size 12 jeans. at the moment i am living in elasticated waists. i think leggings and long tops/dresses are most flattering as my calves ain't too bad.

dozy, i love the TASTE of food, but am too darn lazy to cook it. that is why you are nigella! i have a cold, can't taste a thing, had one last xmas too and it made me utterly miserable. the whole point of xmas is food you don't get to eat thye rest of the year. santa had better bring me taste buds for xmas!!

btw, i am not really coping with twins and a 3 yr old. my dh has been off since they were born PLUS my parents come 3days per week, and i haven't been out except to other people's houses/ supermarket since they were born! the thought of claridges petrifies me!

daisy, we're all dying to know about the doc! seriously tho', do hope you're ok.

i'm going to bed now. tomorrow going to parents for xmas period, but will no doubt be back on here before long (from their place )...

take care

vbab78 · 19/12/2008 20:41

obs - hope things gets sorted for max and you have a quick recovery. Also i think your +ve attitude is fantastic. Can it be bought from a shop? I could do with one right now.

merry - congrats on the sleep through. A woke at 5.30 again , had a tiny feed and fell back asleep. Tried keeping her awake more today and "trying" to wake her for feeds but no can do.

daisy - OUCH again. I misjudged my friend's bottom stairs yesterday whilst carrying DS and slammed him into the opposite way . He's ok though but I felt so bad especially as he broke my very nasty fall.

twinkling - Hope things settle with DS soon.

DS woke at 5am (remember he had a strop at bedtime like the day before) and I think he is poorly. Maybe the reason behind his 2 days of bad behaviour at going to bed time. DH fetched him into our bed and DS just kept saying "downstairs". I really dont believe in letting DS in our bed or us getting in his (I did it once) no matter what time it is. DH is such a lazy arse. By DH fetching DS into our bed he must of known DS would just disturb me and he could of been why A started waking whilst DH went back to sleep (can sleep through anything).

Mum has got DS tonight and she's having DS and A tomorrow night so DH can take me out as part of my xmas box.

Currently just me and A at home as DH out at the pub after a couple of hours sleep this afternoon . A has been in moses basket upstairs since 8pm but keeps whinging. Im cleaning my oven as DH cremated some of our tea in it before going out and it is a mess and also my house stinks of burnt stuff . Also eating microwave reheated scampi. YUM YUM . I feel such a cow but hate the fact DH had 2 hours sleep this afternoon and has gone out for the 2nd time this week. He deserves both of them but when can I get that!!! Is it just my DH that thinks/acts like he is the only one that gets tired, stressed and fed up? Also is it just us women that when we have had a night out (i've had 2 xmas nights also) but hardly drink anything or stop out late as we have kids to take care of in the middle of the night and day after but the blokes just dont care?

SORRY FOR RANT cant help myself.

vbab78 · 19/12/2008 20:47

SPELLING not way i meant wall! DUH.

tistheCEEBEEtobejolly · 19/12/2008 20:54

Vbab men are just have different priorities to us - I often wonder if I should 'think like a man' sometimes!! Hope your DS gets over whatever is bothering him soon - I know what it is like to have an ill toddler and a newborn

Merry I also live in elasticated waists whilst at home but am too proud to go out in my trackie bottoms/maternity 'big' pants in public!!

Am going to start the diet on Monday 5th Jan - who is with me then?

Misdee have always done WW before but I think I may be more suited to SW but have just checked out my local classes and they are all in the evening which is no use to me as DH works away so much!! Can you do it on line without attending classes?

Dozy am so with you on the gym withdrawal symptoms!! I am finding it so hard not being able to go (particularly as DH is still going 2 or 3 times a week!) I was doing aerobics upto the end of September and I really want to start doing that class again but I know that is not going to happen until Feb time - until then, I am going to go and walk on the treadmill and exercise bikes. During the week, as I can't get to the gym if DH is away, I am going to do exercise DVD's (I got the Strictly Come Dancing one last Christmas and never used it so time to dig it out I think). I much prefer exercising and being able to eat a bit more as I LOVE my food!!

vbab78 · 19/12/2008 21:00

ceebee - when I hear the new beyonce (spelling?) song "if i were a boy" it hits a nerve.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 19/12/2008 21:01

evening

didn't get back from A&E until nearly 7 then had to get kids fed and in bed and then have some food oursleves.

I have pulled the ligament that runs up the inside of your leg, but it isn't torn, so no lasting damage although it might be sore for a while. My hip is similarly fine and doc said it;s just deep tissue bruising; no mechanical damage. He couldn't say why my leg keeps giving way but thinks it's to do with the SPD. I've to go to the GP if knee gets worse or pelvis doesn't get better with physio.

I am achey sore all over and feel like I have been hit by a bus.

will catch up tomorrow, but am in full empathy over festive season dressing woes. I have the most impressive muffin top in all my trousers (well the ones I can do up the button on anyway). I have bought a dress for Christmas Day, empire line so it drapes over my saggy baggy bits (well that's the theory anyway).

Fin really unsettled this afternoon/evening so gotta go.

vbab78 · 20/12/2008 06:16

how can i get my 5am/5.30am waking baby to last until between 6 and 7am? I would say that A's routine () is quite good and losely GF just the very early AM wake.

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 20/12/2008 08:21

morning vbab, what do you do at 5/530am?? when did a feed before this???

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 20/12/2008 08:42

had a good read now daisy nothing to serious, how is the burising and pain today???? Hope you are going to be thoroughly looked after!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR DRESS sounds lovely, where did you get it from as I need to get something myself!

ceebee can we please start the diet on the 6th? I find it very depressing starting on a monday...pretty please I have jsut had a look at closerdiets.com as a friend lsot a shed load of weight that way..have a look and tell me what you think? I am also happy to do WW as worked for me years ago and I think i still have the bumpf somewhere......am very pissed off at my soubld muffin top

mum2becks · 20/12/2008 09:08

morning everyone, sorry I havent been on here for a long time am finding it very difficult managing a toddler and a baby and although I do try and keep up I never get chance to post anything

I think I could really do with your help dozy as I was in a great routine with DD and she thrived on routine and still does BUT I just cant get into one with DS and I think I would cope a lot better if I can sort this!!

The problem is DS doesnt seem to feed at set times he can be very hungry and wants feeding again within an hour but then can go 4 hours + without wanting to feed so routine just doesnt work!!!!! Is it harder to get into routine when BFing as you dont know how much they have had? I had moved onto FF by the time I put DD into a routine and it was easy!!! Any advice really appreciated

Sorry about me post but cant possibly reply to everything I have read since my last post other than to say hope everyone is doing ok even with all the problems and are looking forward to a great xmas!!

mum2becks · 20/12/2008 09:11

oh forgot to add, can I join in the dieting in the new year please!! I would love to get back into the clothes that I havent fitted in since before I had DD 2.5 years ago!!!!

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 20/12/2008 09:37

Hi mumtobecks I will do my best!! Firstly, let me assure you that I successfully breasfed both DS's for near on a year and they were both in routines. Please persevere on that one, as you are doing a great job and as long as DS is having lots ot wet/pooey nappies, and putting on weight, you are doing a great job!

So tell me about a typical day? Also, how old is DS??

Sorry ladies, computer appears to be buggered. Won't let me type for more than few secs at a time before freezing up.

Xmas hugs to all!

mum2becks · 20/12/2008 10:34

thanks dozy firstly I do want to continue bfing as it has been so much easier than all the problems I had when tried to bf DD!! so hope you can help!!

DS is 5 weeks today, dont really have a typical day with DS but suppose it does follow a sort of pattern as DD is in a routine so looks something like this -

DD gets up about 7am so I start my day then but DS is usually fast asleep at this time depending on what time he has fed in the night. He wakes usually before 8am and I feed, wind then feed again, he does fall asleep usually when feeding so put him down but then he will wake within 30 mins and want feeding again. This seems to happen through the morning (which isnt easy when need to do dd breakfast, get us washed, dressed etc) But usually by lunchtime he will then sleep solidly and I quite often have to wake him after 4 hours to feed him as I dont want him to nnot sleep at night!! We then have awake time and will want a further feed before DD goes to bed at 7pm. The evenings then vary he will either feed on and off and not sleep until about 8.30/9pm or he will fall asleep while putting DD to bed. The nights again vary, he will wake anywhere between 10-12 o'clock then between 2-3 and then sometimes at about 5am but not always. He doesnt sleep well between night feeds as he falls asleep feeding but then wakes when being put into crib so it can take a while!!

Sorry its a bit long but hope you can help

ISaurus3shipscomesailingin · 20/12/2008 10:51

Blimey, what a time you have all been having. Realised I have not posted for 10 pages so sorry for lack of personal messages. DH and Fin are upstairs asleep so that's the only reason I have time to post. DH not doing owt round house and I don't even have my Xmas tree yet (sob).

Mum2becks mine sleeps all morning and so does the baby. But then not so good at night this week, dunno. Know what you mean about nor going back down again at night, last night took 3 hours and then he was hingry again. Arrgh.

On the whole, though, apart from the collapsing state of my marriage, all is good here and Fin is lovely. Smiles a lot now and is 11lb 11oz as of yesterday, bless him. I need to go and get wrist supports to carry him and my back is killing! But so glad he is happy and healthy, if heavy.

Sorry if sounded like boasting, I am a bit sleep deprived.

Love to all with hypos and bruises and reflux, I will try to keep up better in future.

PS have solved computer rpoblem, bloody wireless keyboard batteries were running out!

Dur.
