Evening all

Have had a skim through and tried to catch up, but brain retained little!

Oooggs, just wanted to add my views re the parents' evening. It seems very early to have had one, and I am sure ds is just over-excited. I tend to read between the lines tbh. Hope you are ok.xx

POTC, glad the party went well. I bet you are glad it's all over!

JS, house move eh? How exciting! B has asked if we can move to my parents house. When I asked her what she liked about their house, she told me "the bunk beds"!!

Caz, good luck with the testing

Luce, congrats to your dh. When is the move happening?

Pesha, you sound rushed off your feet. What a pita re the childminder. Really hope you can get something sorted. When do you start your job? I can't remember

Dippy, you poor lamb. Any word from the docs yet?

SPB, how is T now?

Octo, lovely to see you.

Brain definitely now emptied, so apologies to those I have missed.

Santander was fab, but exhausting. Very little sleep and lots of visiting the sights and late nights eating and drinking. I have to say Santander is lovely. Fabulous beach, and great shops/cafes/bars. I wold like to go back.

Now back to reality!

Hope you lovely lot are all well.

geordieminx · 22/09/2008 20:00

Oooggs - come and get the car and visit us!!!

oooggs · 22/09/2008 20:02

I would love too

dh suggested us all going up on the train and driving back......... is he mad??????? 3 children, 3 car seats, double buggy

I won't fly when pregnant

may ring them tomorrow and see if they will get it to Hull for me (maybe there for half term) but I doubt it

StealthPolarBear · 22/09/2008 20:32

hi everyone
Glad you had a good holiday SOL!
T is fine thanks, bit grumpy but not sure why, teething probably, nothing major

CaptainDippy · 22/09/2008 20:51

StealthPolarBear · 22/09/2008 21:07

glad to hear it How was the afternoon with your friend's DD?

CaptainDippy · 22/09/2008 21:11

It was fine, we went to the mini railway and they all played so nicely together Apart from DD2 poo-ing herself , it was all good

elkiedee · 22/09/2008 21:11

Welcome home SOL.

Pesha, what a shame that you seemed to have found the right CM and now it doesn't sound like it will work so well.

Sexonlegs · 22/09/2008 21:18

Evening

Dippy, glad you are feeling better. Sorry about the poo incident though

Hi Elkie, how are you doing?

CaptainDippy · 22/09/2008 21:23

Poo is wrong!!

NorthernLurker · 22/09/2008 21:30

hi all

Eek to poo Dippy! Glad you are feeling a bit better though

oooggs - you are so organised knowing when you go back to work in 2010!!!

SOL - glad you had a nice weekend

Pesha - at least the CM was nice - maybe you just need to go with what works for now and see how everything shakes down?

Caz - i thought it was you testing as well!

Luce - brilliant news. You aren't moving anywhere near me are you? I can give you all the low down....

errmm.... hello to everyone else

All ok here but it's freezing here and I feel rather tired. Off to bed soon I think.

CaptainDippy · 22/09/2008 21:36

Hello NL Off to bed myself now I think .... night all!

NorthernLurker · 22/09/2008 21:39

StealthPolarBear · 23/09/2008 08:05

Glad you had a good time apart from the poo incident Dippy
How are you feeling in general - any less yukky?

cazboldy · 23/09/2008 09:28

Morning all

horrible Mummy alert!!!

Poor Molly has cut her littlr finger, she was holding a mug and she banged it on the wall (i know...) and it cut a little piece off her knuckle To make things worse I was just wiping her hands, and I forgot

Caitlin, Charlie and dh are all full of cold...

Have got a pile of ironing that is about 4 feet high, so better get on....

StealthPolarBear · 23/09/2008 09:37

poor M

CaptainDippy · 23/09/2008 10:20

Not horrible mummy! I forgot DD2 was in the boot of the car yesterday when we got to the mini railway and shut the boot on her leg SEE we've all done similar stuff. xx

Feeling better today, as long as I keep taking the drugs!!

Bramshott · 23/09/2008 10:20

Just popping on before going off to do some work.

At the risk of echoing everyone else Oooggs - I really, really wouldn't read anything into the teacher's comments about J beyond the fact that he is maybe taking a little time to settle into the mode of unquestioning obedience preferred by school! I would just have a little chat with him about always doing what his teacher asks straight away as she has a lot of children to look after. From everything you've posted on here, J sounds like a really lovely boy, and it made me very to think that you were worried about him on the basis of what someone who has taught him for about 2 weeks said.

Pesha - How is N doing at school now?

And of course, Dippy - today's the day for K isn't it!!! I hope you're both doing okay!

DH and I have just been away for the weekend, which was so lovely (SOL - it must be the weekend for it!!). We were in Somerset and we went shopping at the Clark's village, walked up Glastonbury Tor, had a lovely meal, and then mooched round Wells. The weather was lovely!! It's amazing how quickly all the crap of day to day life comes rushing back in though!

Bramshott · 23/09/2008 10:23

Glad the CM was nice Pesha. TBH, I'd go with her for now as a lot could change between now and next Sept - she might not get the job; she might decide she prefers the flexibility of childminding etc. Is there a nursery where D could go in term time next Sept (given that he'll be nearly 2.5 then!) and then to the CM with the others in the holidays?

Eddas - how was the CM you went to see?

CaptainDippy · 23/09/2008 11:27

Hey Bramshott! yesterday was the day for cutie K and she loved it

JellySnakes · 23/09/2008 13:08

Hi all. CD, lovely to hear that K enjoyed her time in school yesterday

Oooggs, that is why I haven't really looked yet as I know I would fall in love with something, just got an idea of prices for the type of house I would want. I have tried to get hold of my financial advisor this morning, but he is obviously out and about!
I think our Australia idea has been shelved, for now at least, dh not so overly keen any more and the more I think about it the more I wonder if I could really do it iykwim. Leaving all my friends and family behind would be very tough I think.

Must go and sort out dinner for later, the time between school drop off and pick up seems to go so fast!

Bramshott · 23/09/2008 13:38

Glad she had a good time Dippy!

Pesha · 23/09/2008 13:54

My baby boy, 2.5 surely not

Thats a good idea though Bramshott re nursery in term time and CM in hols, shouldn't be anymore confusing for him than playschool or the like I guess and if he always does it it will just be normal for him. Will talk to CM about it. Have to admit I am starting to have reservations about someone else spending so much time with my baby but trying not to think about it! I'm sure I'll be fine with it once we all get used to it. You should have said you were coming to Somerset! I could have given you directions to the Egg stone on the side of the tor, much more mystical and significnt than the tower apparently, it sits under a hawthorn tree and everyone who visits ties a little trinket of some sort onto the tree and leaves a wish with it! But big secret so the plebs don't discover it and ruin it!! So shhhh don't tell anyone! New job is in Clarks village too, at the HQ there, have a feeling my wages may get spent quite quickly!

Dippy - glad you're feeling much better and lovely that K enjoyed her first day

SOL - glad you had a lovely holiday, sounds fab!

JS - you're much stronger than me, I would have to look!

Caz - poor M but not bad mummy at all, just life!

N is still crying every night about going to school and bit stroppy about it in the mornings but has been ok when he gets there and no more nasty teacher incidents so am just leaving it for now. Waiting on next lot of tests to see if there is anything medical or its all just school before I do anything else I think. He is very excited about starting football today which is good.

Right have to phone some nurseries now as will need to do visits this week. Catch you all later

Eddas · 23/09/2008 15:28

Hello!

Pesha, childcare is a nightmare! hope you manage to get it sorted asap. How's d's winky?

bramshott, the CM I saw was lovely but a bit too far and in the wrong direction. I'm still waiting fr the one that lives near me to call back(she said a week or so last monday so am hoping she'll call this week somtime) have kinda got my hopes up for her! She has no mindees atm and lives close. I'll just have to wait and see if she can help and if we like her.

CD, glad you're feeling a bit better. Lovely to hear that K liked school

Caz, we all have those guilt feelings when dc hurt themselves. We all try our best not to let them get hurt, but they always find something to hurt themselves on. Hope m's ok now

Gm, how's c's ear now?

Luce, really pleased for you and your dh that he's got a new job My dh goes through spells where he hates his job But he never looks around for anything else so he must be ok really!

oooggs, hope you're ok

Hi to SOL/NL and anyone else i've missed. IMO, quite a good catch up post by me

My news, well someone tried to syphon the fuel from our car last night but we have an anti-syphon thing so they didn't get very far Gits! We thought we lived in a nice area but i'm starting to wonder now a one off is one thing but that's twice in a couple of months that someones tried(and suceeded) to nick stuff from our car

I've also managed to tick off a few jobs on my list, although not enough! But some is a start I suppose

I have to go to a meeting this evening about the church hall they want to talk about it's future and because the pre-school's there and I seem to be the treasurer now I ought to go.

DD woke at 5.30 this morning and ds' around 6.30 and they're both whingy now Roll on 6 when they can go to bed!

Pesha · 23/09/2008 16:19

Well just been looking at Ofsted reports for nurserys an the one I thought was my best bet and wanted to get him into had a report done in Sept last year and were found to be inadequate on lots of things Have rather swiftly changed my mind! Can't believe it have always had good impression of them and their website looks good!! But report really is quite worrying. There is another one that was good which is sort of on my way to work so waiting for a call back from then and one thats a bit out of my way but not too far that is outstanding apparently so going to ring them now.
