sweetkitty · 10/09/2008 13:15

hello all

Feeling a bit down and weepy today don't know why probably hormones, I seem to spend every minute rushing about doing something and then always have mroe to do and the house never looks clean or tidy, also feel like a crap mum too I have to leave them to their own devices to get things done which is fine or I'm shouting at them.

Snot city here today even wee B is snuffling

Rumpel - no thats not my friend am trying to wrack my brains thinking who you mean now. My friend is moving back home from Aberdeen. I agree I think the whole place isn't what it used to be, at least I will have someone nice to visit when we visit.

Opps was going to write longer message but need to go again will try and catch up alter x

mummy2bsoon · 10/09/2008 13:48

another question,

  • leah sleeps with her body flat on her back ( before use to sleep completely on her side) her head turned to the side? is this ok? looks painful *
TJuice · 10/09/2008 14:04

hi m2b - i move elodie's head from side to side because it was getting a bit flat. one of elodie's kidneys isn't functioning that well, so its being monitored. what's up with Leah? Its bad that they didn't have a place to bf!

I found a nursery I really liked today so I feel much much better. Now I have to apply online to Copenhagen municipality for when she is 12months old. The staff were good, it was clean and cosy, there was a little playground, the food was 95%organic and smelt fab and its on the way to work. And there is one standard fee of 270 pounds a month for nursery here.

libra - the Bill amberg was naive first-time parents foolish buy #1 while I was newly pregnant. Dh and I got all excited and bought one on ebay. Its an arse to get her in and out of and its looks like kinky bondage gear but you know ;).

mummy2bsoon · 10/09/2008 14:08

hiya
they dnt knw if she has a kidney, goota go bk for test in nov... then may operate...

anti biotics given her thursh...

wats up with elodie?

TJuice · 10/09/2008 14:17

well, she had ultrasounds and other tests that showed that one works well and the other not quite as good. She will have more tests but she's thriving, pooing, peeing and gaining weight. As is Leah right?

I was really worried but have spoken to lots of specialists and it seems that these kidney issues are more common then you think and are often undiagnosed until much later in life. And of course, people can function well with one kidney.

but its still scary . . .

min912 · 10/09/2008 14:22

Hope you feel better soon SK... if it helps I am in awe of you!! I sometimes think 'I can't cope with two how the hell do people manage with three' (we are vaguely debating it) and then I think 'well Sweetkitty seems to manage perfectly well'!

I would also say that every relationship needs time out - it's impossible to be with anyone 24/7, and that goes for the under-fives as well.

I am bad mummy too then because every time DS seems to be pre-occupied I think 'I'll just check MN/if it's my go on Wordscraper quickly...' and then he's tugging at my leg and grunting (his version of 'give me attention NOW!!!'). So I'm not even doing anything constructive!!

mummy2bsoon · 10/09/2008 15:17

yeh she is fine, except thrush due to anti biotics...

still scary stuff tho...
bets of luck t-juice, yeh my nephews had sum problems with kidney, so i knw its common...scary wen its ur own tho. shud b grateful, i suppsoe her problems are small in comparison.

JODIEhadababy · 10/09/2008 15:53

Hi all, just back from Soft Play and I;m knackered! Luckily my fiend brought her mum along and she looked after Sam so DS1 had my full attention, he really enjoyed it. Is in bed now!

Rumpel DS1 LOVED Socatots, we aren't keen on Football in this house either, but he can't start playing mini-rugby until he's 7 and he's quite good at football (so people keep telling me, he's left footed and that's supposed to be a good thing.) We've bought him a mini table and chairs and some play dough and some other little bits, he also got an easel thing from Ikea and a Trunkie from his GP's. He'll have a really good day at Thomasland too (I hope) How's the diet coming? I lst 2 lbs this week woohoo!

SK Good luck this weekend with the potty training, it's quite a daunting thing isn't it.

Disney Will be thinking of you on the 15th (In fact I think of you and Sam most days anyway!)

Trespass Are you there????

Can't remember what anyone else said, so sorry but hope you are all OK..

JODIEhadababy · 10/09/2008 16:01

Someone mentioned (sorry can't remember who) starting another thread for those of us who want to lose weight..

what do you think?

disneystar · 10/09/2008 17:03

sams operation is on the 15 th october incase i just said 15 th the other day

thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts for samuel xxxx

hes just woke up for a feed always when im just about to put the dinner on the plates good timing!!!!

sweetkitty · 10/09/2008 17:10

min912 - what a lovely thing to say thank you, FWIW I felt like I couldn't cope with two at the start either, when things started to get better I go and have another one.

Jodie - well done on the weight loss I take it you and Rumpel are talking about 2nd birthdays? Can't be first (I can't remember whose DC are what age). For her second birthday DD2 got a car playmat thing and some cars, she loves cars

mummy2b and Tjuice - sorry to hear about your LOs kidney problems, you get upset when they have their forst cold or are sick I cannot imagine having to face something more serious.

Re: breastfeeding programme agree the S American woman was weird although it may have been mroe of a language issue (tries to think of the best). Was thinking of my own thoughts on B having someone elses milk and to save her life then definitely but I would prefer it out a bottle than from source, why I don't know, it starts a whole load of questions doesn't it. Instead of a programme about "weird BFing" how about one about the poor BFing rates in this country and how women are failed by poor advice etc sorry rant over.

Still a bit down today feel the entire day is just a series of tasks and I'm not talking about additional ones just the basics like washing, dinners etc keep thinking it's meant to be like this and I'll get through it.

sweetkitty · 10/09/2008 17:12

Will be thinking of him on the 15th October disney - how's his feeding going did you get a pump to express for him? Nevermind me I'm in awe of you 7DC and little Sam to worry about, you are truly a supermum

disneystar · 10/09/2008 19:40

sk even though i have 7 dc i only have 5 at home now

sam is being tube fed but im expressing my breastmilk as well which has dwindled a lot since im still offering for him to feed of me but hes not that interested now ,i really am thinking of some supplements to take to give me a bit of a boost someone suggested fenugreek?

mummy2b and tjuice samuel only has 1 kidney and seems ok but i know what the worries are like never ends does it
thing is with any children we worry always no matter how old they are or whats wrong
the bond is never broken

isaidno · 10/09/2008 19:50

ds - eating oats (ie porridge) is supposed to be good for boosting milk supply.

RUMPEL · 10/09/2008 19:52

Sorry you are feeling blue SWEETKITTY - sending hugs and + vibes to you, to cheer you up and make you smile - even if only for a little while. One of the best things, that works for me, is a big piece of cake and a cup of tea

JODIE - just been looking at your profile on FB (quickly) and noticed you liked Carter USM - our first boys name choice was Carter but Dhs colleagues son is called that. I saw Carter USM when I was a student at Glasgow Polytechnic - just before they went to the States when they had their long ponytails - was a fbaulous gig

Also saw the Ramones live before Joey died. Skunk Anansie too and Placebo and The Damned and Siouxsie and the Banshees and Alice Cooper was AMAZING.

Put some new photos on facebook of my wee man.
off for a Lush comforter bath as have- a cold, my period and an upset tum now too!!! Not a good day diet wise - 5 biccies today Have lost 2 lbs since Monday though.

Nite allxxxx

pigleychez · 10/09/2008 20:55

Blimey so much to catch up on!

Breast feeding programme last night was interesting. Personally dont think id be comfortable with someone else feeding my baby, though think id be more comfortable giving EBM. Definately made me think though.

Libra- Hope A's been ok with his jabs today.

Poledra - Def agree that Dads seem to have the burping cracked. Think it must be those strong man hands!

SK- about your colds and feeling down today.

Tjuice and M2b - Sorry to hear about the kidney worries.

Rumpel- Love the photos

Abigail has been rather grumpy today which has been rather tiresome. Plus she refused to burp after her feed at 3am and just cried, throwing herself around with the wind so i tired anyway today.

Been invited out on Sat night for a meal and bowling for a friends birthday. Be nice to get dressed up and go out but already had tears this evening as part of me feels that i shouldnt leave her yet.. that im a bad mummy somehow.
I know DH will cope admirally so thats not an issue but cant help but feel im doing something wrong if i go.

Libra1975 · 10/09/2008 21:19

Pigley - NONSENSE. you are not a bad mother for wanting (needing) some time out. I am going to Andrew Lloyds Webbers birthday concert on Sunday and leaving A with his father AND I CAN'T WAIT. Go, Go ,GO.

Rumpel - ohh lush. Love there bath bombs, but not the ones with bits in which means the bath needs to be cleaned. Also I love Carter USM as well

DS - whilst I am in awe of coping with 7 children I am truly astounded by you going thru pregnancy SEVEN times. Bonkers . Also you are right about the bond, I am 32 and my mother still worries about me!

SK - sorry to hear you are feeling down, any chance your DH can look after the kids and you can have some you time this weekend?

Football is evil. along with cats.

A was fine after his jabs - the power of calpol We are starting a bedtime routine today, after 8 weeks of spending the evening handing A back and forth we have implemented a routine and he was in bed by 7. AND HE IS STILL ASLEEP. Will wake him to feed at 10 and then just cross fingers, not sure whether to follow Tracey Hogg and do dreamfeed or do Gina Ford and wake him up properly.

JODIEhadababy · 10/09/2008 21:21

AH PIgley go go go, you'll be nervous and you'll probably call home about a thousand times, but you'll really enjoy yourself, I think it's really important to have your own life too, It's great to be a mummy, such a special gift, but it's also important to be yourself once in a while (not 'Abbie's Mummy' IYKWIM)

Tjuice and M2B I send you big hugs, sorry I didn't before, forgot, had a busy tiring day but sending you all good vibes

SK Chin up me duck (As they say round these parts) Hope you feel better now, and if not, maybe tomorrow

Rumpel I went to see Carter USM in Birmingham, and I still listen to them now! My big love from way back when is The Wonder Stuff and we were going to call Sam 'Miles' after Miles Hunt, the lead singer, but he didn't look like a Miles when he came out. Also love Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Crowes, The Lemonheads, Also 2 'local' bands Neds Atomic Dustbin and Pop Will Eat Itself

Libra You ae NOT a bad mummy for leaving your baby in the creche, I would! I felt guilty about keeping DS in Nursery while I'm not working, but it's for his own good as well as my sanity

DS1 was being so cute this afternoon, kept picking up his tea saying 'this nice, yum' adnd then after asking for 'cuggles' I love him when he's like that, it's just te tantrums I can't stand. Maybe the Soft Play did him good!

sweetkitty · 10/09/2008 21:31

libra1975 - was just asking DP if he could remember when the other 2 started going down at 8, we play pass the baby at night too although sometimes it's nice to get some B time. We are starting potty training DD2 this weekend may get an hour alone though. DP was lovely when he came in (think it's because he is having a rare night out tonight) he bathed the older 2 got them ready etc

pigley - you go on your night out know what you mean about feeling guilty though, it's a mother thing

rumpel - thanks I think I saw Carter USM at the QMU Glasgow uni I was very drunk, your little man is lovely shall we betroth him and B since they share the same birthday

right off to bed in a bit with my book and B

CilC · 10/09/2008 21:52

Rumpel thanks sooooo much! My little package arrived 2day! Will keep you posted

Jodie - my little girl always asks for huggles.

Must go DS has been sick all over my eft arm...waittin g for DH to get me a muslin....arghhhhhhh got to lov it!

min912 · 10/09/2008 21:53

I saw Carter USM at Reading Uni! Carter is a great name.

Watched the bf prog tonight (10pm is too late for me so taped it) and although I'm not expressing yet (so much less bothered about bfing in public this time around)I am very tempted to look into donating EBM as there is a milk bank here at the JR hospital.

Pass the baby very resonant here too... think we got the sleeping through the night (i.e. our bedtime until our waking time) thing sorted first and then started bringing his bedtime back with DS.

Rumpel well done on 2lb since monday!! I am steadily losing 1lb per week so heading in the right direction but keen to up the ante...
