Mother of a 8 month old girl whom I love dearly. Dealt with pre natal and post natal anxiety due to drinking in the first 7 weeks of pregnancy. I’ve been told her eyes are not abnormally small however this is all I can see. Please share your thoughts?

She is developing well, surpassing and even ahead of milestones.
thank you

What lovely eyes she has, looks completely normal to me! Flowers

bloodywitchescat · 04/11/2022 00:17

She's beautiful and her eyes look to be a completely normal size to me.

Missni · 04/11/2022 00:19

Thank you so much. I’ve been dealing with this anxiety since her birth. I just cannot shake it. Currently in post natal therapy.
been told by GP and hospital peds that they do seem to think so, I’m trying my best to rid of this guilt.

Many of us drank and even smoked before we knew that we were pregnant. Unless ypu continued to drink heavily throughout the pregnancy it is highly unlikely to have affected the baby. Her eyes are absolutely fine x

catandcoffee · 04/11/2022 00:28

Perfectly normal eyes.

Frezia · 04/11/2022 00:28

A beautiful baby Flowers you don't need to worry about her eyes.
She's at an age when she'll probably start to lose a bit of baby chub in her face soon which will make her eyes look even bigger.

TowerStork · 04/11/2022 00:30

All I see is a pair of beautiful eyes. Please don't feel guilty. Many people drink without knowing their are pregnant

underneaththeash · 04/11/2022 01:08

Looks normal to me too. (Optometrist) Nice even corneal reflexes as well.
if there was anything very abnormal your baby wouldn’t meet their milestones. Try and relax.

ofwarren · 04/11/2022 01:16

She looks perfectly normal and gorgeous.

TBOM · 04/11/2022 01:21

She is gorgeous with really lovely eyes

HelterSkelter224 · 05/01/2023 15:44

Lots of us drank before knowing we were pregnant, don't worry. Your daughter's eyes are bright and beautiful and she will grow up happy and healthy. I suffered badly with postnatal anxiety too, so I know how hard it is, even rushing my newborn to a&e in the middle of the night for what I thought was a cold sore (was eczema). I'm glad you're getting the help you need x

RodiganReed · 05/01/2023 15:46

Abnormally beautiful! Congratulations OP, she's gorgeous.

Itschristmastimeinthecity · 05/01/2023 15:46

Beautiful eyes, I don't see anything to worry about x

caramac04 · 05/01/2023 15:50

CrikeySusan · 05/01/2023 16:56

A GP and a paediatrician told you that your baby had small eyes???

Missni · 05/01/2023 21:12

No, they don’t believe so

Hi, did you mean to put “abnormally”?

OP posts:
Mycatispretty · 05/01/2023 21:14

She is absolutely beautiful

Branleuse · 05/01/2023 21:15

I couldnt tell if her eyes were on the small side of normal, because they look fine to me.
What would they even do about it? Surely some people do have smaller eyes than others? What are they concerned about

JustMerkinYourChain · 05/01/2023 21:16

Missni · 05/01/2023 21:13

Hi, did you mean to put “abnormally”?

She just meant they are very beautiful not very small - using abnormally in that sense to reassure you they’re fine.

boboshmobo · 05/01/2023 21:22

Her eyes look normal . I have experience of genetic conditions and alcohol foetal syndrome and she isn't displaying any Visual signs in her eyes .

Quitelikeit · 05/01/2023 21:25

What is the issue? The baby looks normal?

a history of alcohol use during pregnancy?

CrikeySusan · 05/01/2023 21:37

Missni · 05/01/2023 21:12

No, they don’t believe so

If a GP and a paediatrician told you that she did have something wrong with her, then you would believe that because they are doctors.

But a GP and a paediatrician have told you that there is nothing wrong with your daughter and you think that they are wrong.

Missni · 05/01/2023 21:57

Hello all,
