Here we go again!

I'd do another delightful intro, alas I've lost count which thread this is now and we all know our LO's names anyway 😁

So instead I will just say, Merry First Christmas together to you and your LOs! 🎄❤🎁

May the sleep regression pass as soon as they see Santa later this week...

...May they love weaning and may our kitchens survive...

...May 2022 be full of blessings for them and for us ❤❤❤

Oldcomers and newcomers welcome, as always! 🥰

Grin It's all about the ass, isn't it @RandomCatGenerator!

Girls, here for a moan - my period is back. Started bleeding yesterday and passed on a small clot (which is normal for me). Fooled myself that maybe it's not AF, but today I am sure it is 😔 And I had my vaccine booster and feel a bit weak today with the two things combined. It also suddenly feels like Leo's birth was a long time ago now my periods are back and things are coming back to 'normal' in that department.

I also have two friends who had kids when I was going through MC and they're both now trying for no2 and it made me feel sad we're not ready yet and won't be for a while. 😔

I don't know what I want, I'm clearly hormonal and oversensitive today! xx

@RandomCatGenerator no rolling here, don't worry :) he looks like he's trying but hasn't got there yet.

@PurplePansy05 sending a virtual hug Thanks

We've only had one single roll from front to back and I think he did it by accident as he was a bit cross. Grabbing feet is a great milestone! We haven't had that yet. IME if the baby doesn't like tummy time they don't have much incentive to roll into that position, and might not bother for ages.

Daffodil21 · 08/01/2022 17:37

@BertieBotts ah that's good to know. We've had lots of feet grabbing and playing with hands etc. He LOVES being held in a standing position too. I'm not overly bothered about milestones but it's good to know he is at least hitting some 😂

Magik01 · 08/01/2022 18:12

@RandomCatGenerator Isaac does that too, he loves holding his feet and falling to one side, it’s very cute. He’s rolled once and never again so I don’t think he really meant to do it. 😂 I find the feet thing very sweet though.

Oh no @PurplePansy05! Hope your okay. Flowers

I know this is a very personal question ladies, but has everyone’s sex lives gone back to (their) normal? I’m still so tired still with the really poor sleep and my priority is sleep over most things at the minute much time DH dismay.

BertieBotts · 08/01/2022 18:16

I've had absolutely zero sex drive since birth, only just starting to come back a little bit now and I'm not really bothered (but reassured that it is on its way...)

I do always think if you're too tired for sex and your DH is not then that's something he needs to look hard at before pestering for sex though.

PurplePansy05 · 08/01/2022 18:20

@Magik01 Leo is exactly the same, still only one random roll over at 3 mo, none since, and loves playing with his feet now. He can now pull his socks off with his hands 😂 So cute.

Today I gave him some pureed apple and he loved it! Held his little silicone spoon like a pro and put it in his mouth. PFB moment, for sure!

I'll be alright. Just a bit emotional now, I'm not great before and on my period. Thank you.

Re sex, it's improved but I can still count on both hands since Leo's arrival...so I wouldn't say it's flourished! It would be non-existent with two children though, I'm sure of that. xx

@Magik01 we're having sex, but less than before baby, maybe once or twice a week. I'm finding my sex drive is lower, but once we get going I'm enjoying it just as much as before which is nice, as the first few times were quite painful! The handy thing about having it less often is that DH is quicker so I don't miss out on too much sleep 😂 also, I do actually sleep better after having sex

@PurplePansy05 hope you're feeling ok xxx I also had my booster yesterday and I'm feeling rough as anything, exhausted and really achy all over. I'm hoping it passes as DH is away again tomorrow and I don't fancy solo parenting how I feel at the moment!

Smurf123 · 08/01/2022 19:56

@biscuitcat I had my booster 2 days ago and felt incredibly achy yesterday but feel a lot better today so fingers crossed it passes quickly for you!

Smurf123 · 08/01/2022 19:59

I'm fairly sure dd is over off the oldest on here and rolling only happened yesterday for the first time now she won't stop 😂 only from back onto her tummy though she hates lying on her back atm I think it is maybe the reflux.

Ready2020 · 08/01/2022 20:08

DD rolled over on the 27 December for the first time and it seems to have stuck. It's a bit of a pain though! She rolls all the time but can't do anything once there so is constantly moaning. I've been at my wits end the last few days as I've no idea how to please her. How can I entertain her when she is on her tummy without having to be down at her level all the time? I feel like she constantly needs me in front of her face just now.

We've had a bad bed time here with DD screaming the place down. It's not like her but she did a huge poop so I'm guessing that was bothering her. She still screamed at bit after and only settled when put into her cot. She has nights like this sometimes where she just wants to put herself to sleep in the cot. I guess she's just becoming a bit more independent on that front.

Re sex.... I've no sex drive at all! Which isn't like me. We've not had sex in months Blush

Magik01 · 08/01/2022 20:40

Ah thanks ladies, it’s good to know I’m not alone in terms of sex (or lack of!)

@PurplePansy05 did you make the apple purée yourself?

I’ve brought a veg steamer today in preparation for weaning! I really want some of them bamboo fancy plates that are different shapes but I can’t justify £15 on a plate on maternity pay. 😂

Ready2020 · 08/01/2022 20:51

We're having a real issue with DD rolling in her cot. She can only go from back to front but rolls when half awake. She fell asleep on her side tonight with dummy in. We've just left her like that with monitor on for now but it's freaking us out a bit.

Think we're going to try a bit of baby porridge tomorrow!

Ready2020 · 08/01/2022 20:55

This is her.

PurplePansy05 · 08/01/2022 21:02

@biscuitcat Did you have AZ before and a different jab now? DH did and he was really poorly after the Moderna booster.

I had 3 doses of Pfizer and apart from a sore arm it never bothered me too much luckily. Think it's my period that's making me feel weak, the heaviness of it is crazy.

@Magik01 Yes, I did. Pureed soft apple with a bit of water in a food processor. I am going to move to pureed, mashed and finger-shape cut veg now because I've noticed he has a preference for fruit so far which are sweeter. That's probably normal, I just would like him to explore a variety of flavours. I'll try broccoli and potatoes next week, and maybe back to carrots for a second attempt! xx

@Ready2020 Leo slept like this for the first two months of his life (he always rolled from his back to his side) and we couldn't do anything about it. I think it's fine as long as she doesn't roll onto her tummy? But once she can roll over both ways I think it's fine to just leave them even on their tummy?

Also I saw your earlier message re OH. It's not all rosey here either, just so you know you're not alone. I would say intimacy helps though, it's not a solution, but it makes us kinder, gentler and more connected. xx

@Magik01 I have the Bamboo Bamboo plates, my girlfriends kindly bought them for Leo. Have you checked on Marketplace? I saw some really great looking ones 2 for £10 the other day, they do come up every now and then xx

@PurplePansy05 yes, two AZs and then a Pfizer booster, so that could well be it!

@Smurf123 fingers crossed - paracetamol has taken the edge off so hopefully all be better tomorrow

Ready2020 · 08/01/2022 22:42

@purplepansey she just rolled on her front and woke up. Let's hope she learns to roll the other way soon. I think it'll help her sleep if she can roll about.

sarah13xx · 08/01/2022 23:03

@RandomCatGenerator no rolling here yet either, very much obsessed with his feet though! He did roll from front to back a while ago but it was while I was rolling him over and I kind of let him go earlier than I should have and he just sort of wobbled then rolled back so really don’t think I can count that 😂 Still a bit paranoid I don’t give him enough tummy time, mainly due to the dogs - can’t have him on the floor unless we’re in another room from them. Also the fact the dog hair is everywhere so really not hygienic to have him on the floor either, even if I hoover 2 seconds before 🙈 now we’ve moved (into our temporary home til we get to our new home) I have his playmat in our room so I’m going to make a conscious effort to put him down on that, then when we eventually get to the house I’ve decided I’m getting a nice playmat in grey or something rather than a living room rug so the hair comes off it easily, the joys!

@Ready2020 oh no, I’m actually dreading him starting that! We don’t have wifi in the new flat til it’s transferred over next week so the camera doesn’t work and I’m on edge having to leave him in the bedroom while we watch tv without being able to see him 🙄

sarah13xx · 08/01/2022 23:09

@Magik01 definitely not on your own there, would definitely be counting ours on one hand rather than two 😳😂 when it does happen it’s as if it’s just the same as it used to be but then some nights it’s just easier to go to sleep instead. I can’t even blame the baby for making me tired, he sleeps so so well but I’m up late most nights either doing orders or just because I’m a night owl 🙈 so there’s been quite a few nights he’s been in bed and asleep by the time I’ve got to bed. Also don’t feel like a baby making the odd noise in the background really helps the mood any 😂 telling myself when we move to our new house, have our new room and he has his own room we’ll get back to the way we were 🙈

Daffodil21 · 08/01/2022 23:21

I feel like DS lulled me in nicely being a fairly easy baby - but he's starting to be a bit of a pain 😂 he's started this annoying squealing thing which sometimes sounds a little distressed which I think it's his teeth, and sometimes sounds like he's ok but getting over excited. The all day train journey on Monday with a squealing baby should be fun...

Ready2020 · 09/01/2022 00:00

Well I didn't think my nights could get any worse but that's the third wake up with DD crying because she rolled on her front. If this carries on I might just bring her in the bed with me. Not what I wanted really but she needs her sleep!
