Morning. Blimey, are you lot all having lie in's or summat!!

Hope you are well and have had good nights.

All ok here. Both girls in top form so far - B is normally dreadful in the morning - really ratty like a teenager!

Nowt planned today at all. Need to start thinking about packing. We are off to the Isle of Wight on Saturday for a week. B is counting down the number of sleeps bfore she goes on the "fairy boat" (ferry boat to us adults!!) xx

octoandflash · 23/08/2007 08:26

Morning all

We have weigh in, jabs, playgroup play and stay and a physio appointment today ...

I need to pack too Maybe sat am!

Have a nice day.

I'm nearly gone!

Katy44 · 23/08/2007 08:30

Morning packers!
off out to lunch with people at work today. Other than that doing very little.

bumble75 · 23/08/2007 09:03

Morning all,

Octo - you're leaving us but wish you and yours all the very best and hope you pop in from time to time.

TC - congrats on the job!!!!

CD - so scary, am so glad you and the girls are ok!

DH tried giving L ebm again last night from a bottle - she screamed and screamed so I tried. More screaming and then she laughed. And played with the teat for a while... and then screamed and then scoffed the lot and slept all night. I had two very large glasses of wine to recover. Lord knows what she'll do tonight.

So good luck and hang in there to everyone introducing bottles! My plan is to get her taking bottles of ebm regularly and then introduce formula over the next few months. I'm glad I stuck with bf but am ready to phase it out now, although Luce I know what you mean - when L was screaming last night I just wanted to pull my top up and latch her on!

Thank you for all the lovely comments about L! CD - she has about 7 chins and her chubby legs are quite spectactular (and tricky to dry after bath time)!

Right, better go shower before she wakes up.

xxx

I've added my favourite recent picture of T to my profile, it's the top one. He looks so cute I just had to show it off!

Aww bless, Katy, T is such a cutie.

Right I'm busy with laundry so I can pack for the weekend (off to the Lakes to see my family). Erin had her jabs this am and is fast asleep!

normabutty · 23/08/2007 10:05

Oh Luce sorry about the toes problem, hope the doc helps!

Katy44 · 23/08/2007 10:08

Did they go ok norma? T screamed and seemed in so much pain
Luce, hope you work out what's causing S's sore toes, I didn't know babies could have ingrowing toenails either! Sounds painful, poor boy

Katy44 · 23/08/2007 10:09

norma, so you're another packer! Hope you have fun x

AngeG · 23/08/2007 10:09

Morning all

Haven't caught up properly yet, but noticed that Octo said she is leaving us, so wanted to say, it won't be the same on here without you but understand. Take Care xx

Bramshott · 23/08/2007 10:20

Hi there. Stupid question about formula feeding as I haven't done it before: So I've boiled the kettle, left it to stand, sterlised the bottle, put the right amount of water in the bottle, NOW, do I really need to now store it in the fridge?? Or can I just leave it out at room temp? This is just the water, no powder added. What's going to happen to it if I don't put it in the fridge?!?

normabutty · 23/08/2007 10:20

Yes I think they went fine. Dh took her while I tidied and hoovered the living room and she was fast asleep when he got back . He said she's been ok.

normabutty · 23/08/2007 10:22

Bramshott - the official guidelines are to boil fresh water in the kettle each time, allow to cool, pour into bottle, add formula, cool to suitable temp for baby and give it to them immediately, discard after 1 hour.

I and many others on here (it was Oooggs who told me about it), sterilise all our bottles, boil kettle and put appropriate amount of water into bottles, leave on worktop and add formula when required (therefore milk always at room temp.)

That should say allow to cool for 15-30 mins.

btw when Erin decides she's hungry she wants it right away so the 'official' option isn't really good for us

normabutty · 23/08/2007 10:25

It makes no difference how you store the water because it's the formula that isn't sterile. Technically you need to add the formula to water above 70 degrees c to sterilise the formula. The water is already sterile because it has been boiled.
