Hello! Thanks for the thread!
Starting to get into a routine a bit now and DH did the night feeds last night so I got the first decent amount of sleep since I went into labour on 11th June!
How's everyone getting on?

Napssavelives · 13/07/2019 12:00

We are still alive! Baby is 3 weeks on Monday which has gone scarily fast. Finding it hard to juggle everything as baby wants to be held constantly, also finding my eldest boy challenging atm. Feel like all I do is tell him off. Exhausting.

Greggers2017 · 13/07/2019 14:27

Yay!!! Hope everybody is well. My little one was born on her due date and is now 3 weeks old. Finally on my 3rd baby it seems as if I've cracked breast feeding 🤱
We've had a busy 3 weeks as lots going on with the older children at school. DD and DSD finish primary school on Friday so I'm feeling quite emotional about that.
My DS has been quite challenging, he has ASD and ADHD and has been the youngest for 10 years. He has been displaying attention seeking behaviour.

2countries1bump · 13/07/2019 17:02

One calendar month for us today!! We have not cracked breast feeding but also haven't quit yet so that's a start. Still 5% off birth weight so feeding very much top of the agenda. Hopefully flying home in 4 weeks time (if weight picks up) so starting to think about logistics for that. Ok otherwise. Would like night sweats to be over - anyone got any tips for those?

Hi!! DS was 5 weeks yesterday. It's going pretty well so far, I think I earned an easy(ish) baby after my horrific pregnancy...

Napssavelives · 14/07/2019 08:39

I feel like I really need to start doing my pelvic floor exercises, anyone else keep forgetting to do them?!

hexagon01 · 15/07/2019 02:59

Hello! Nearly 5 weeks here and I think slowly (very slowly) improving with sleep but still only getting one hour chunks in the cot at a time 😴 I have to admit I do not love the newborn period and am wishing the time away.

I’ve done no pelvic floor stuff!! I think because I’ve had 2 c sections it’s not something I ever think about even though I know I should...

2countries1bump · 15/07/2019 05:15

No pelvic exercises here either- mean to but so much else happens to get in the way and I never know if what I'm doing works!

Also not sure about this phase @hexagon01. By the time I've fed then pumped there's little time for sleep even though DD usually goes down fine. Maybe I'll be able to relax more when she's gaining weight better.

Hey everyone! So glad we have a thread here as I don't have Facebook. DD is 7 weeks old now, time flies! Nighttime sleep is pretty good, daytime not so much. Currently fighting to get her down for a nap like I do every nap time every single bloody day Grin

2countries1bump · 16/07/2019 13:12

Woo! We just made it back past birth weight and got discharged by midwife - huge relief! She put on 20x the amount of weight this week that she did last week. Seems a crazy variation.

Hi everyone! Great to see a new thread! 5 weeks tomorrow for my little guy. He's generally really good but has had a tongue tie and now an umbilical hernia. Poor little thing, he's struggling a lot with wind at the moment and we had a terrible night last night so hoping for better today.
Anyone else look at the wonder weeks app thing? It seems there's a developmental milestone at 5 weeks so hoping that this may be the cause of last night's horrific sleep and that it should be better in the next couple of days!

Blondcat · 17/07/2019 09:39

Hi all. I am mainly on Facebook now but like to keep up with everyone (nosey!) so thought I would pop my head in here.
7 weeks tomorrow for us and dd is certainly growing. She feeds like her dad always wanting food 😂. She suffers a bit from trapped wind too so that makes it a little challenging sometimes as she gets very upset with it. We started a baby massage course this week which was lovely as she really seemed to enjoy it and we are meeting other mums and babies. Looking forward to next week.

Ksjourney · 17/07/2019 09:41

Glad to see new thread! Things are settling down in the journey household breastfeeding going well and birth recovery well underway. So so so glad to not be pregnant anymore!

2countries1bump · 17/07/2019 18:59

@Ksjourney @Blondcat @Kimbishop86 Lovely to see you all! @Kimbishop86 sorry to hear your little one having some hurdles, hope it all gets fixed up soon. I have been on the wonder weeks app but then also read an article saying the 'leaps' theory had been discredited so not sure what to make of it! DD is a nightmare around 6 each evening but then calms down eventually.

KoalasAteMyHomework · 21/07/2019 09:26

@2countries1bump @kimbishop86 I have the wonder weeks app but forgot to check it until DS2 was very clingy and unsettled and low and behold he was in a leap. I have read somewhere about it being discredited but I have always found it with DS1, and now with the first leap with DS2, to be accurate. And it doesn't do any harm to follow it so I do. And I have noticed since the leap that he is now more alert and looking around more. It's just theory at the end of the day. Obviously if your baby is showing signs of being ill then don't ignore it but I found it helpful to have a bit of a heads up that baby might need a few more cuddles than normal.

6pm is what a lot of my mum friends call the witching hour! It's the same here too and I remember with DS1 he used to basically scream 5.30pm to half 7 each night for no apparent reason. I'd be on the phone to my mum sobbing that he wouldn't stop crying then all of a sudden he would. I never figured it out. DS2 is now pretty unsettled around 6pm now too, though luckily no crying (yet).

Anyone else awake? Haby been away 2 hours and won’t go off. He’s kicking, pinching and fussing and I’m so tired and done

KoalasAteMyHomework · 22/07/2019 04:50

Sorry I didn't hear the phone notification. Hope he's finally given up and gone to sleep so you can rest!

BuddysMama · 22/07/2019 05:36

Hiya!!! My baby girl was born on 17th June, a little premature as wasn't due til 19th July ! So she's a little dot, but doing really well...deffo think we're up for the day now though 😴 hope everyone managed some sleep last night xx

Napssavelives · 22/07/2019 08:16

He did in the end. I’m fine with night feeds it’s when they are just awake for no reason for hours. It’s awful especially when I know my big ones will get me up at 6

2countries1bump · 23/07/2019 13:11

Any one finding breastfeeding difficult in the heat? Breast feel emptier and she's feeding more. Any tips?

Blondcat · 23/07/2019 13:58

Yes same, keep drinking plenty yourself not sure if it helps but anything is worth a try!

Napssavelives · 23/07/2019 16:07

Yes, it’s just so hot and sweaty!

2countries1bump · 23/07/2019 18:52

@Napssavelives SO sweaty. Am considering feeding in the bath to cool me while keeping her going.

Does anyone else with older ones feel like they miss them? I know it’s a bit different as I’m on my own all of the time but I feel like baby is always on me and there is always stuff to do and I miss cuddling my bigger boys. Evening would normally be snuggled up and now baby just feeds and there is no one to hand him too. I know it’s just a phase but I miss them.
