I also have a lamaze spider, college bought it for me, said kids loved it. I have it in the car and when I pull it she settles. She's not grabbed it. The only thing shes grabbed it the knot and handles of the moses basket. She doesn't spend much time in there anymore, it's in the living room and she likes to sleep on her parents.

How's everyone getting on? My dd is saving up her poos for giant poos, often followed by a bath as she continues with her nappy off and it gets everywhere.

How's everyone doing. Dd had her jabs today. Yesterday she was generally restless and having an off day, slept well overnight, from 9-2 then straight back to sleep until 6am and been sleeping allot today. She was asleep in the doctors, cried during the injection then settled back to sleep as I stood up. Such a star. She enjoyed her calpol back home and settled down to a good feed. She tends to have sleepy days and wakey days/ half days.

DS has his yesterday as well; was sleepy until the evening when his temperature went up to 38.1 and he was generally moany (sad little noises rather than crying) and irritable. Broke my heart! He woke himself up every hour or so during the night but thankfully seems back to himself today with no temperatures, it's so nice to have my smiley boy back!

I'm trying to take him out every day even if it's just to the shops as I think the fresh air is good for him and looking forward to going to some groups when the children's centres start properly again when schools go back. Also looking forward to cooler weather as feel much more confident in dressing him in it!

DH and I are having a date night on Friday whilst PILs look after DS at ours (nervous, they're wonderful and will be fine but I've only left him with my mum or DH before!), is everyone else managing to get out and about?

I think getting out in the fresh air is important too, I think dd sleeps and feeds much better. That's how I was brought up. I hope tonight will be OK. Nurse giving the injections said to give calpol at 6 hour intervals. After her first dose her temp was normal, then after she'd calmed down with the second dose at 6pm she's dropped half a degree. She screemed and cried from 3-6, my sister was visiting and she cried the most on me it seemed then fell asleep on my sister. She mostly refused breastfeeding but did cry a bit into my boob and have small quantities. I think it soothed her throat.

We were going to go for a picnic by the river today but its pretty wet and rainy so will probably just stick to a dog walk. Having a dog is a good way to get out every day. He does get less walks and attention than before but has been super. Loved all the visitors when dd was newborn and hasn't grumbled or wined, even when he was attacked by another dog when dd was a few weeks old. He's a rescue from a family with 3 small children. Yesterday he looked very sad in the evening (hed been hiding from a screeming baby in the garden hoping for a walk.) my dh put Coldplay what if on and dd fell asleep. I started crying about the fact his first oweners had him for 3 years then gave him up and I told him I'd never decide to get rid of him just because I have a baby. I'm pretty sure he was angling for a walk but I was very emotional from soothing dd and not having as many doggy cuddles. Anyone else have pets?

@Embracethechaos aww your little pooch sounds lovely. I have 3 cats (1 lives with my mum, I had him from being 11 & an outdoor cat. Wasn't fair to take him with me when I moved out). One was a surprise from my OH because I was depressed about leaving my fur baby behind. He saved him from a family with an unruly 3 year old who used to pick the cat up by his tail etc. So he's a little timid, but not vicious at all. The other one is "my" cat, he's always favoured me to other people.

I always feel guilty that I don't give them as much love as I used to. I was so scared of the baby being allergic to animals or the cats turning on her but they've been great. "My" cat cuddles up with us and the timid one always comes running to us when she's crying and I'm trying to soothe her.

I've been away from home for a week so I'm missing them so much, I get to see them tonight though Grin
