Afternoon everyone

Well ds seems to be getting in a bit of a routine. He wakes around 4am for a feed, then between 7 and 8, then every 3 hours til his last feed at around 7-8. Then he'll sleep anytime from 7-10 til his 4am feed. Not finding this too bad til dd decides she must get up at 6. This isn't normal but is doing it a lot more recently, she never used to wake til at least 7.30. I'm sure ds will do something different tonight now i've written that down!!!

We've finally painted our hallway, ok so it's only the undercoat of white but it's better than the crapp scrapped wallpaper look. So what colour do we paint it it is a big area with no windows so needs to be light. DD wants pink but dh isn't keen

My diet stopped after the first week. Just cannot be bothered. Also with dd being the most talkative child ever i NEED my chocolate fix Trying to eat less of the bad things in a vain atempt to get into some of my clothes I may well put my maternity stuff on the for sale board then i have no excuse and i am not buying new non pg clothes so i will have to diet

DD has only been at preschool since January but OMG do they have lots of holidays I vote for schools 52 weeks of the year!! When i said there was no school she said 'if you tell me there's no school i will be very sad, but if you say there is school i will be very happy'!!!! Long may this enthusiasm continue

DD will be 3 on 10th June, cannot believe she will be 3. Asked her what she wants, 'Barbie make up, Barbie make up bag, Barbie make up brushes', anything else, 'No'3 ????? More like 23

Right, all gone quiet, ds is asleep coz i can see him, what is dd up to off to investigate

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 15:37

Gosh Ooogs I don't know how you manage. My EG has been a moody cow today too...it's not nice cos she's usually so content. I think she got a bit spoilt last week with loads of people playing with her and talking to her so she's now crying for attention.

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 15:43

Hey Eddas, I'm with you on the diet! Mine consists of choccy digestives! As for your hall - I'd suggest an off white colour you know those ones that aren't quite white and usually have some fancy name!). I've also got quite a nice v pale grey on my living room (think it was called opulence from the dulux heritage range(?) )

Eddas · 31/05/2007 15:46

NG, know what you mean about the fancy names, went to Homebase with the 2 dc's(not fun!) and they have lots of the same looking colours but called different things. Got about 5 tester pots all of wich'll probably come out the same. Have bought the kinda browny ones, but very very light brown IYSWIM!

oooggs · 31/05/2007 15:55

Eddas I have a 3 year old ds who is going on 13, slamming doors & answering back etc...

Nutty - I don't cope and I am with you on choc biscuits, but then it is all I have time to eat!!!

We have nearly finished decorating the hall stairs & landing & downstairs loo, just a few more doors to gloss. Walls, carpet, laminate (in hall) all finished. We went with 'totally nutmeg' from Dulux naturals range and I am very pleased.

Ready to start next room, dh isn't I am so impatient. But next room is our bedroom and once that is decorated we can move out of dt's room. Not allowed to do anything until after dh's exams on 5th July

oooggs · 31/05/2007 15:55

blimey don't I twitter

Emmymummy · 31/05/2007 16:08

Hello, feels like long time no post for me. Not much going on here, pretty similar to you all really, i.e. not enough sleep, lots of time spent with a baby stuck on my boob, no routine, early mornings, trying to entertain older Dcs in the rain, chocolate biscuits . That just about sums up my life I think .

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 16:26

DH just got back from the docs. Got given the bloody sheet of back exerises I got 6 weeks ago and said I could up my dose of painkillers (the ones I'm not taking cos they cause constipation). He wouldn't refer me to a physio without examining me (err...you did that 6 weeks ago too). Am just so fed up. I mean, they haven't even suggested a ring cushion - DH went out and bought one the other week cos I was getting no help from the docs. They won't even give any stronger painkillers. . I haven't managed for more than 2 days on my own since she was born. DH has to keep taking days off work (I'm sure his bosses aren't too impressed). Just don't know what to do anymore....

Tili · 31/05/2007 17:01

hey everyone

Long time no see !!

I really dont seem to have time to popin that much anymore So I hope that you are all well. I have really missed coming on here. So what have I missed anything important?

All is well here.Alex is coming on really well he is 5 weeks today and is now weighing 10 lb 14 oz. Beth is starting to calm down around him now I think the novelty has worn off now and realisim is sinking in that yes he will always have a knack of screaming when your trying to watch something and yes if you try to cuddle him straight after a feed he may just be sick all over the sleeve of your best pink cardigan !!

Can I ask is anyone else still bleeding? I am it is really light but I thought it may have stopped by now just wondered if anyone else was the same?

Anyway better go feed beth before Alex wakes up.
Take care all xxx

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 17:05

Hi Tili - I stopped bleeding at about 5 weeks ish...but then I got my period about 5-6 days later.

Elkie - just seen your posts on the yorkshire meet up thread, fancy going for coffee while you're up here? Pinions and LesleyR are you guys up for it too?

Mossie · 31/05/2007 17:14

Hello April ladies!

Just wanted to pop in and see how you all were, it's been quite a while since I've been around, have mostly been complaining about bfing or dh, or posting very occasionally on March postnatal!

Can you believe our babies are nearly two months old?

It's good to hear some of your stories of your babies that don't exactly sleep through the night, I'm not the only one then!!

CaptainDippy, glad you got the vouchers, what a star Ellie is for setting it all up!

Maveta I just wanted to say, I am also having such a struggle bfing, I really am. No advice or anything like that, I just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.

Right off to pick up a wailing baby...

xxxx

oooggs · 31/05/2007 17:23

Oh nutty sorry you are in so much pain. is it worth taking the other painkillers & getting something like duolax for constipation? I was on codine & paracetamol which gives constipation then iron tablets as well. The stuff does work.

Or go to docs and throw a paddy my 3 year will teach you how

Hi Tili, hi Mossie - hope you both doing well

dt's are 9 weeks today arghhhhhhhhh

liath · 31/05/2007 18:09

Nutty, your GP sounds crap. Could you self-refer to a physio??

Maveta, have put a link on your BF thread to one on tongue tie that my sister had put some info on. Sorry BF is such a chore for you, not helped by in-laws putting their tuppence in when you're tired and fed up.

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 18:14

Hey Ooogs, thanks for the suggestion but no matter how many painkillers I take it doesn't seem to have any effect on it . The best thing I've found so far is heat rub stuff. I've seen a few threads about the pain and most people seem to suggest it needs a physio/chiro. I'm just pissed off cos he doesn't seem to comprehend that me doing some exercises every other day is not making a difference and that it's really getting me down cos I feel I can't look after Erin as well as I should be able to.

Anyone else not having a 6 week check? Doc said all they do is ask how I'm feeling so I'm not bothering. Also found out that I was meant to make the appointment and also make the appointment for Erins vaccinations (HV told me I'd get a letter saying when the appointment was).

nuttygirl · 31/05/2007 18:15

Self-refer....can I do that? I might try it, otherwise I think it's gonna be living on baked beans and paying for a chiro.

Thanks Liath, I'll try to find out if I can.

oooggs · 31/05/2007 18:28

I didn't have a 6 week check, they just asked me how I was when the dt's had their 8 week check & jabs. Great NHS ahhhh.

Well this is the bad part of the day, dh went to work at 3pm. DS1 ready for bed and dt's screaming for food!!!! Feed them and hope they stay quiet enough for me to do stories and bedtime routine with ds1. IF AND WHEN I get back on here later depends on how successful it has been, at least only tomorrow night then a week of days...hurray

Pesha · 31/05/2007 18:40

eddas im with you on the diet! Am feeling really crap about my huge flabby tummy but am just starving all the time, i think its being tired my body wants food for energy if that makes any sense. And im a comfort eater, i need to be feeling good and positive and energetic to diet and thats not really where i am at the mo! Not that i dont absolutely adore my little boy cos i do and i am loving it, mostly, but in a sleepy, overwhelmed kind of way!!

Nutty - sorry you're having such trouble with your back, sorry to be crap but ive missed so much, whats wrong with it?

Tili - d will be 6 weeks monday and my bleeding is just tailing off now. have to go back soon

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:11

Can't remember anything anyone said - typical!!

DD's all in bed & sleeping!! Feel like I have had a nice productive day today - so consequently feeling more & like my "normal" () self, makes a pleasant change!!

Will text Ellie & see what she is up to & report back .....

Hope you all get your DC's to bed at a reasonable time so you can do some nice stuff for "you"!!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:14

Oooooh, did manage to nip into Monsoon & have a quick look around this PM (only quick mind, as P was v.v.v.hungry & demanded we go into Costa & have a flake Mocha, Panini & jammy biscuit ) ...... Ooooh, there's sooo much lovely stuff - I have to admit, there was one dress I particularly liked - only I looked at the price tag & it was probably the most expensive item in the bloomin' shop - Typical!!!!

Bugmum · 31/05/2007 19:19

Another one for the stressed-out gang here. My usually content babe (apart from the odd bad night) has decided that he would like to scream for two days non-stop (please, please, please a blip and not a personality change). This is of course complicated by my DS1's reactions to the crying. And naturally, I have been on my own a lot more than usual. Tonight, I couldn't even manage DS1's bath because of G's crying, and poor DS1 was left disconsolately wailing, 'Barf? Barf?' I felt like the worse mother ever . Really have felt like I'm not coping today. Not helped by the weather not allowing my pram-in-garden (sod the stupid doctor) strategy.

Hope all you other stress-heads are having a better evening, and that everyone else is well and happy,
xx

Pesha · 31/05/2007 19:28

cd i know exactly what you mean about a productive day making you feel like yourself, ive managed a few of them and i do feel so much better for it

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:31

Yes, they are not frequent enough are they, Pesha -

{{{Hugs}}}} to you Bugmum sweetie - Deep breaths .... BIG glass of wine ....

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:33

Right - help me out a little guys.....

this is the dress I particularly liked, but @ the price tag!!

Also rather liked this little number, but not so sure it is my colour - LOVE the syle though....

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:35

Oooooh, this is rather lovely, but not really "me" -

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 31/05/2007 19:43

Ooooh, this is a bit lovely too!
