And again Jodie, hope it all goes well today. I am very about the hair, dont know when I'll get mine done next although It desperately needs something doing with it soon. Its just hard knowing whether to take them with you or not at this age. Oh well.

Had to wake the poor little guy up this morning at 7 to feed and get out for school. Ten hours last night YIPPEE !!! and my boobs were like rocks this morning!

Sorry laughalot Feel terrible about the swaddle me. R loves hers and so did L, but guess they arent for everyone.

2happy. Appt was for L so he was rushing me really. When I said that I used washable nappies, he said he would write prescription for two tubes of cream and to use it on R too . Didnt as it is pretty strong stuff and she has showed no signs. Wouldnt it be in both sides if it was thrush though? Might go back and see my doctor as it was a locum (sp?) I saw.

Jodie- Enjoy your hair appt. Those drops are hideous so sympathies for your dd (and you!)

Not much going on here. L has woken up whingy with a temp (oh joy!) so he is sat in front of the tv til I have finished feeding R then off for a nap. Might actually get some jobs done then!

HI all! Just had a skim through all the posts from the last few days, but will have to catch up properly later on.

Did see your dsis had given birth 2Happy so many congrats to her! Sounded perfect!!

Well we all made it to Hong Kong safely! Freddie was brilliant on the plane and slept almost the whole way. We fed him in the airport and then he went 11 hours until the next one which was wonderful. So we just need to buy a plane and he'd be sleeping though easy....

I've got a horrible cold and didn't get to sleep much on the plane at all (I'm sure they're making seats in economy smaller.. it couldn't possibily be that my arse is just getting bigger!?!) but have been napping on and off all day today and Freddie has lots of new faces to entertain him here

Right, going to go back and read what you've all been up to now. My parents have got MSN here so hope to catch you all at some point... just have to work out the time difference! What?? you thought just cos i'm on holiday i'd abandon you all? Absolutely not.

Sorry to not be writing uptodate posts, but just re read through this thread.
UD - A £500 surestart maternity grant?!?!? WTF. Is everyone eligible for one of those? I am off to look it up now.

I am in a bad mood this morning, just as I get used to my little angel baby sleeping through till 6am every morning, the F**KING fire alarm goes off at 4.30am this morning. I am soooo tierd now! I was yawning all the way through Baby Boogie this morning. (Ok ya, darling!)

Took Dylan to baby massage on Monday. Its so funny meeting other mothers with babies the same age, you can really distinguish, pushy mother, hippy mother, competitive mother, trendy mother & winging it mother.

What stereotype does everyone reckon they are? I bet no one owns up to being a competitive pushy mother!

Hello all - so sorry to have deserted MN - I tried to catch up on the old threads but you girls can talk!! Hope you are all well - is there any big news I need to know - anyone pregnant yet?!

I have had to replace my love of MN for rightmove.co.uk & findaproperty! Yes - we are on our third attempt to buy a house since Sept! On the last attempt some old boot pulled out on us in early Jan when we ready to exchange - . If this attempt fails I will buy a house in Nottingham (home turf) and make my dh commute to London for work as I am sick of it!

Jemima doing well and she really is rather adorable - started to wake up in the night though but you can't have everything!

Hi folks. Just come back from a trip to town and am pleased to report the bus drivers were most helpful and lowered the bus for me.

PCF - to no Jan 08 babino. Aim for Feb 29th 2008 instead.

Nice to hear from you Galmum. House hunting what a mare!

Shimmer - glad you got to HK ok. PMSL at your message 'all I have to do is buy a plane'

Lizz - I am definitely a competitive mother. To prove it I've just added a photo of how great Pippa is at lifting herself up during 'tummy time' just to compete with Wilkie....maybe not, huh... She is so weedy she uses her tongue to try and lift herself up!

Report
RGee · 18/04/2007 14:25

BTW that photo truly is the extent of how far she can lift her head up when face down. She hates it so much. Any ideas?

Report
JodieG1 · 18/04/2007 14:46

Rgee - lovely pics She will get better with her head the stronger her muscles get, there's no rush so I woulnd't stress her out with longer time on her tummy than she wants. They all get there in the end Ethan holds his head a bit higher but he doens't like being on his tummy either so I limit the time, he will get better as time goes on.

Galmum - helloooooo! So good to hear from you; we've been looking for you! Glad dd is doing well, about the moving house thing, hope you get a good one (eventually!)
RGee - love the glasses pic! ds2 doesn't like being on his tummy either and can't lift his head up, but is pretty strong when he is held sitting/upright.
PCF - sorry , but keep trying, if only to keep us all amused, lol!
DH - if he suspects thrush he should give you a tube of thrush cream and lo a tube of mouth gel. I think I'm right in saying you can get it on both sides, but also on one side only, so it is a possiblity. Any white stuff on your nip/in her mouth?
Jodie - at the hair appt, really need mine doing. How did the appt go?
Shimmer - am v impressed at posting from HK! Hope you are having fun
Lizzz - by winging it mother do you mean making it up as you go along, generally getting it wrong, being late all the time, totally disorganised, clinging on to sanity by the skin of your teeth? If so, put me down for that!

Had a fantastic day, went to a local farm trail and ds1 did the whole thing without a single tantrum, even being told to put the tractor toys back on the shelf, he went and did it straightaway . It'll never last... ds2 slept through the lot...that'll never last either, lol! Now I'm just finding ways to avoid filling in my tax form. MN seems the perfect excuse!

Rgee - cute photos! LOL at the one in the glasses. I noticed you've taken her swimming. How did that go? I am too much of a wuss, even though I live opposite a swimming pool and opposite the sea (yeah right - like THAT is gonna happen!). Was she ok or did she scream like a banshee? & did you go with your DP? x

Just got back about half an hour ago from the hospital. Caitlin had to have the eye drops took 20 mins to work and then we went back in. Her op is booked for 26th May but it's going to be confirmed in writing as it depends whether the consultant can get childcare for that day as it's a Saturday. Her eyes have got slightly worse as she now as astimatism as well as bad eyesight and the squint She wears her glasses all the time as well. She was really good and let her put all the drops in and was very co-operative with the eye tests. We popped into Morrisons on the way home and let her choose a magazine. She'll need her eyes checking again just before the operation and if that's all ok then we'll go ahead with it.

I'll try and upload some pics later of my hair. It's nice now, really like it short again. It was a nice relaxing 40 mins

2happy- Not in her mouth, as I keep checking and have looked at some pics of nipples with thrush on the LLL website and mine dont look like that. It is getting better again and I have been using some nipple cream so mabe it is just me being lazy latching her on. Fingers crossed that is all it is! Thanks for the advise though. Glad you had a nice day.

Galmum- Good to hear from you again.

Rgee- love the glasses pic too. L took ages to lift his head up and hated to be on his tummy too. Wouldnt worry about it but I have found that putting R in a bumbo chair has helped her neck muscles. Have you got one? She can only stay in it for afew minutes at a time but it has helped.

Jodie- How did lo's eye appt go?

Lizz- Winging it mother with my techniques but kind of competative mother when it comes to what L and R can do! Spend the toddler group comparing [bad mother emocicon]

Luke has been poorly today. Felt really sorry for him in the morning when I was putting the washing out, I had put him in his coat to go out and he just stood by the back door. Napped most of the afternoon and had to wake him to give him lunch then he spent the rest of the afternoon with his head on the sofa (most unlike him! Usually cant sit still for 5 mins). Even lifting it was an effort. Poor boy. He is in bed with a dose of medinol! Hope it isnt a tummy bug. I am no good with sick!

Jodie glad you had relaxing time at hairdressers and you have a date for the op

Dragonhart poor Luke , I thought Hattie was playing us up last night but it appears shes poorly as she has been in a foul mood all day either asleep or screaming (she really doesnt cry that often so I know theres something wrong) shes had a few smelly nappies so maybe bit of a bug, her temperature was 38.7 so phoned Drs but they said dose her up on calpol its finally gone down but now its 35 degrees and all the books say 36-37 normal so now worrying about it going so low. She was a nightmare to settle tonight only just gone down and screamed in her gro bag so shes in the cot in a vest cotton sleepsuit and blanket but seems happier and staying asleep (I hope)

Rgee hello we've been wondering where a few of you had gone, good luck with house search (no sign of katierocket/vino/jessdibs/loubie)

Rgee cutey pics of ruth both of mine have hated tummy time and only this week or two has she really been getting good moving her head around when sitting up.

Lizz sounds like a busy day in your house, Ellie loved swimming Chris has taken her since she was 16 weeks althoug they go alot more now as she only used to like the water for 15-20mins before. Hattie still hates the bath so no point trying swimming yet

Cant remember who else has posted today but
