Well this hasn't happened in a while DD having a late afternoon nap. She had an hour early this morning and an hour and a half at 12:30. Both naps were an hour earlier than usual so I guess she's making up. I'm glad coz I didn't think she would last from 2 til 6:30! No without getting her cranky pants on.

Carolann8584 · 01/10/2017 16:13

I was told area weaning talk I went to that from 6 months they can have diary so they can have cows milk for their cereal.

Carolann8584 · 01/10/2017 16:13

*AT A not area

NameChange30 · 01/10/2017 16:26

Babies should have breast milk or formula milk until they are 1 year old, and they can have regular cow's milk (full fat) from 1 year old:
www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/drinks-and-cups-children.aspx

But I think it's fine for them to have regular milk as an ingredient in food from 6 months, just not as a drink by itself until they are 1.

Carolann8584 · 01/10/2017 16:50

Yeah I forgot add that line. As part of a meal but not to replace formula/breast milk Grin

Temps 37 now so ok Grin

purpleviolet1 · 01/10/2017 19:27

Sounds great Hugh. Is it mat Pilates you do? And do you just repeat the exercises at home or follow a video? Sorry for the questions! You sound like the inspiration I need Grin

Does anyone know if a GP would check for and diagnose diastitis recti? I've tried checking myself but can't find any gaps but I strongly suspect I have it. It's what making me apprehensive of starting any core work

Is anyone using Ashton parsons? Are you giving it morning and night or just as required?

Ds had a cranky last couple of hours. He woke at 7.30 today too though and generally seemed more tired. He was up during the night for more than an hour in total though so probably having an impact.

I've just parked up and about to go for a 2h massage Grin first one since ds and I definitely need it!

OMG purple enjoy your massage! I had a short one the other day and it was heaven, too short though!

I've been giving DS Ashton & Parsons for ages, just the recommended dose (one sachet in the morning and one in the evening). We use teething gel if needed throughout the day but it's a natural one with no lidocaine or anything so I don't worry about using too much. Then paracetamol or ibuprofen if needed.

Just been replying briefly today but will try and catch up with everyone's updates tomorrow.

I'm getting an early night, we made some progress last night but it's slow going, fingers crossed for more progress tonight 🤞

Carolann8584 · 01/10/2017 19:40

We use Ashton Parsons, give morning and nighy but still only half each time. I really notice the difference when we don't use it.

Just thought maybe we should up it to the 6 month dose given how DD has been this weekend

Carolann8584 · 01/10/2017 19:42

Enjoy your early night name and massage purple Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2017 20:06

Massage sounds heaven

Just about to go for a hot wallow

Dd slept 1-2 and woke happy. Thank god. Played and then slept 4/5. Tea. Play. Bottle. Bed

I still use formula as she has the remains of the wake up bottle to kid with porridge

My LO has turned it a little monkey, if she's not grabbing the bars of her cot to chew on she's lying on her side and "walking" along the rungs in her sleeping bag! Getting her to settle herself has been a nightmare the past 2 days for both bed and nap times.

coupester · 01/10/2017 20:26

Ooh Pilates sounds good! I've found someone on Facebook who does Pilates for new mums where you can bring baby but I think it's only until they're 7 months.

Hope your massage was fab @purpleviolet1 also, my gp told me I had diastasis recto at my 8 week check so a gp should definitely be able to tell you.

@100yearsdotcom yes, I already miss the pre weaning poos! DH thinks he prefers these new poos so maybe he'll deal with these every now and then (unlike previously when he'd run out of the room retching)...

@NameChange30 enjoy your early night, I hope you get to catch up on some sleep. You're doing brilliantly, I hope the progress continues.

DS was not happy this evening, kept putting his fingers in his mouth on his new tooth. Tried to give him some puréed cabbage and i got the impression his tooth hurt at one point when he clamped down on the spoon which obv made him cry. He then fell asleep on his bottle so put him in bed and he cried and cried - took a long time to settle bless him.

We've got baby massage tomorrow, it says to use cold pressed, organic veg oil. I've got 'pure veg oil' from Aldi, do we think that'll be ok?!

Abacha · 02/10/2017 07:24

I am so happy, the twins slept through the night. Ds didnt stir at all until 4.30, dd cried a couple of times, first time was 11pm, I gave her a pacifier and she stopped immediately, 2nd time was around 3am, pacifier had fallen out . She went back to sleep immediately.

Of course I didn't sleep a I was used to them waking up and I was clock watching. Thank you so much everyone for your tips, the support here is amazing. I know its only one night but at least I know its possible.

They are still sleeping, I've just finished expressing, will take a shower then wake them up.

Carolann8584 · 02/10/2017 07:59

Congrats abacha 😁

DD had 4oz of her DF at midnight then woke at 3:30 but managed to get her back to sleep. She still woke at 5 so I put her dummy back in and she went back to sleep for 30 mins and woke again so put dummy in again she woke up at 6

purpleviolet1 · 02/10/2017 08:26

That's great abacha! Isn't it amazing how the twins pretty much do the same?

Massage was amazing really really good 😊

Reformer Pilates Hugh wow Grin right I'm going to at least start following a YouTube video until I can find a class

We had a good night until 03:20 stirred, but fell back asleep. Then 04:40-06:20 he was pretty much awake, offered the water but the teat is too fast and I had forgotten to change it so he had barely an oz. he seemed happy and stopped to chat etc but after I put him down he couldn't nod off. Then he was crying until I went in and when I tried to leave he was hysterical. I think he might've been feeling cold, and scared with the heavy wind and rain. Eventually at 6 I offered him the milk and he took it. He was also really blocked up , his cold doesn't seem to be shifting.

I was half way asleep throughout it all and didn't take proper note of what he was doing. Tonight I need a plan - water until a certain time and then milk from x time I think. And slowly push that time forward.

I let him wake up naturally anyway and he woke at 07:40.

Thanks for sharing, it's good to know you are in the same position with planning to move your DD from the Snuzpod to her own room soon. What have you been doing to get her ready, and what makes you think she is ready?

coupester
Sorry, yes an Ergobaby is a baby carrier. We have used it to get DS to sleep when we've gone out to lunch, I just found the quietest spot in the restaurant and walked/swayed until he fell asleep, then carefully transferred him into the pushchair so I could sit and eat. Takes a bit of time but it's worth it so you don't have the stress of trying to eat lunch out with a tired and grumpy baby!
I would have been annoyed about DH staying out late without taking a key too - make sure he takes it if there's a next time!
Has the tooth come through completely now?

purple
Glad you enjoyed your massage! Smile
When I was giving DS his granules this morning I noticed that you can actually give them as needed, up to 6 sachets in 24 hours. So I might give him more than 2 a day when his teething is bad.

Hugh
Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your date Smile
DH and I have only left DS once and that was to go out for dinner on our wedding anniversary... the service was a bit too efficient for our liking! We dragged it out as long as we could Grin

Abacha
Congratulations, that's brilliant! Hope it continues.
