Will this do?

Margo, I studied part-time (evenings/weekends), worked full-time (7am to 7pm normal hours) and was a mother so anything is possible. Though you do lose the plot a bit ...

I feel so proud. I managed to mark out our veg plot into 1m squares this afternoon, rope some of them off for beans, incorporate bonemeal in others and sow tomatoes and peppers for the greenhouse. It's a small achievement, but it's made me happy! DD2 is still asleep outside in her pram and DD1 is playing in her playhouse. I LOVE SPRING

Indith · 28/03/2007 17:48

BP so I would love a veg garden! Can't wait to move in June, need to find a house with a garden and a landlord who doesn't mind me growing stuff!

Save your admiration til after exams people! Not entirely convinced that I do much work, by the time I gather my thoughts and know what needs to be wrtten ds either needs a feed or a nappy change or to be bounced around the flat!

Castles wow! when did you find the time to, you know, breathe? Eat? I'm guessing sleep didn't happen!

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 20:39

Hello Littlemiss

I tried to grow pumkins last year, was doing well got huge blooms - no pumpkins! DD has been in the garden all day collectiong ladybirds again! I am waiting for DH to finish 'designing' it. It has been work in progress for over a year. Was suposed to be finished by now so DS could go out on a blanket in the summer

Glassslipper - thanks for your kind post on my other thread - am getting so slated, but apparently lots of MNetters think it fine for children to climb loft ladders of a stairwell!! sorry wont bring my argement here.

most of DD pox are now scabbing over and still no spots on DS - not sure how long before I will be able to say he has'nt got it for definite. Took DD to shops today though - she needed to get out somewhere different to the garden and I just needed to get out. So nice to sit at the park and watch her play!

Gloria42 · 28/03/2007 21:18

LittleMissLate, if it's any help my DS uses the Tommy Tippee "nipple-like" teats and seems to go from breast to bottle with no probs. And he sleeps from about 9.30-10 until 7ish!!! Always one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I have been heard to wonder if anything is wrong.....

(Hello BTW, I mainly lurk on this thread except when I need advice from the lovely ladies )

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:21

BTW everyone - have removed my piccies because I cannot stop myself MIL bashing [bluch] and I rave about MN so much to her and SIL I am sure one day - if not already SIL will have a look.

I have contacted MNHQ to ask why no one I have made a mate can see them when I set it up for mates only though - will share when I hear back!

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:22

glassslipper · 28/03/2007 21:26

milkshake - your other thread reminded me why i hardly ever 'start threads' unless it is about something very dull. fwiw - i think that whole board is just an excuse have a go at people.

lucy5 · 28/03/2007 21:31

There is deffo a confrontational vibe buzzing around MN at the moment. Don't let it get you down Glassy

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:33

I just keep going back - . Besides MN is all about opinions! Sometimes I agree with what they have said, sometimes they make me see another angle. But the whole loft ladder thing is crazt IMO - but I think I have killed my own thread by saying that - which I take as I was right nah nha nah nah nah!

Dont let it get you down!

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:34

BTW GS - have been reading G&BOtters thread and am speechless at the attidue considering she opened the thread for advise.

At least mine was just for opinions!

lucy5 · 28/03/2007 21:36

Whoops meant milkshake!

margo1974 · 28/03/2007 21:50

Milkshake, I was going to add to your thread but couldn't think what to say....

I would be the same, someone said about how girls and boys are so different, usually boys want to tear around and play and it's normally the girls who want to chew the hind leg off a donkey!

DD1 is still a bit shy, so when I'm out with others she seems the best behaved. But she has her moments. I hope that both of my dds will behave in public. I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed

Have a read about my 30th birthday, that should put a smile on your face!

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:58

Hi Margo - just read your birthday thread before reading this - poor you!!

Is'nt it funny how you carry something like that with you forever.

My "baggage" is about MIL interefereing with our bestman choice 5 years ago (something I have moaned about on MN several times - so you see why my picies are removed) One day when she really pees me off I swear I will ram that down her throat

Anyway getting back to our babies and away from the nasty threads (and MIL) outside our nice little world here on the Dec 2006 thread....

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 21:58

Not that your thread was nasty Margo - there I go again foot in gob!

margo1974 · 28/03/2007 22:09

no offence taken milkshake!

I just reckon you're being contraversial !

LowFatMilkshake · 28/03/2007 22:11

just for you

Elibean · 28/03/2007 22:27

Oooo you chatterboxes can't possibly keep up.

I knew I was pregnant eight days after conceiving - thus the dubious benefits of assisted conception. In fact, an MNer sent me her leftover ACON strips (type of test) from her last IVF, wishing me luck - so maybe I can credit dd2 to MN

Still pretty much hourly feeds at night here...and dd is snotty and therefore breathing badly at night, that larynx is noisy again (though has been so much better recently, its just her cold making it bad again). Makes me jumpy.

But we're done with jabs - yeay - nothing till 12 months now!

Elibean · 28/03/2007 22:30

You pretty much all have my admiration...theses (thesises???); jobs; multiple children; controversial threads...

Me, I just scrabble through each day and fantasize about sleep. Am supposed to start writing one morning per week again after Easter and am bricking it about that, for goodness sake

Gloria42 · 28/03/2007 23:21

Can I ask if anyone else has issues with the Medela mini-electric pump? I've had to reorder the plastic funnel part twice due to hairline cracks

Olihan · 29/03/2007 04:53

Well, this is fun, never thought I'd be posting on a MN thread at ten to five in the morning. Ds2 has another chesty thing going on and has decided that sleeping is for wimps and he's not going to do it. Ended up losing the plot with him last night after an hour's broken sleep by 3am so gave up any kind of fight tonight and came downstairs with him. Have now been up since 2:30, after 2 hours of him fussing in bed with me and he's just dropped off in his chair so I'm going to try and get a bit of kip on the sofa.

Remind me why I really want to do this again? [wry]

LowFatMilkshake · 29/03/2007 09:27

Oli - as I write this I hope you are catching up on your sleep.

I dream fed DS at 5.45am and that would normally let me stay in bed or (get on with stuff on a pre-school morning) until 8am. However DD is waking at 6am (blardy daylight saving ) and then has a cuddle in my bed nipping my nose and covering me with her blanket - playing where's mummy. The decides she wants to dress up but can't get her vest off! Next thing I can hear is one of DS cot toys which DD has managed to switch on and then DS gurgling away happily. Shold'nt be cross raly as they seem to enjoy each others company so much - but oh for my bed!

Now DD is sat on the sofa complaiing she's tired And DS is whinging for a nap!

LowFatMilkshake · 29/03/2007 09:31

And if that's not enough she's just put Singin in the Rain on again for the millionth time this week! Glad to get her back to pre-school tomorrow - even if it is just for one day before end of term!

That reminds me we have to make a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star costume today!

babypowder · 29/03/2007 09:41

Hope you're napping, Oli!

Why oh why can't I get DD2 to settle in her cot after the first middle-of -the-night feed? Last night she went down to sleep at about 10:30, slept until 2:00 and then would not settle after a feed until I brought her into my bed at 3:15. At which point she had a quick slurp and fell asleep.

I really, really don't want to co-sleep anymore, even though I know DD2 and I get more sleep that way. It's not quality sleep for me, though, and I don't want to have to break the co-sleeping habit as late as we did with DD1

I do find, though that DD2's hands are absolutely freezing when I get her out of her cot to feed her, despite wearing a sleepsuit under her grobag. Do you think she might just be cold? The room is kept at a pretty constant (cool) 21C.

babypowder · 29/03/2007 09:43

LFM, you should send your DD to me - I adore Singing in the Rain and haven't seen it for years! I could swap you my DD who only wants to watch The Sound of Music
