Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Poor DD, taken her to GP this morning as she seems to have been suffering a cold for the last 4 weeks. Now we have antibiotics as she has a throat infection. Doesn't seem to have affected her smiles though.

rumpel- LO seems to have rosy cheeks all the time and stuffing her whole fist in her mouth to chew, then wonders why she chokes herself!

swizzler- my LO slept lots better in her cot I even find her laying width ways in the morning- don't know how she gets there when she is in a grobag.

Lots of housework to do- but MN is much more interesting.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/01/2007 17:01

hiya Bendy and youngmum!!! lo is fine thanks, 11 weeks and was 11lb6 at last wiegh-in. how about you two? things are generally fine here, although im sure that the baby has started to teeth...

Emzickle - sorry to hear about the bad time your having x

Emzickle · 18/01/2007 17:03

when can one realisticaly begin giving baby rice, LO has gone from sleeping through religously since 7 weeks, from 8 pm til 8 am, now wakes at 5.30 am very hungry, having whole bottle and going back to sleep til 9am, want to stop this as it is slowly killing me, last 3 days ive been walking round like a zombie, in the first few weeks i got used to it, but i dont want to go back there!!

youngmum21 · 18/01/2007 17:13

we are good thanks jasmine nearly 10 weeks and weighs 11lb 5oz!!

Cant believe how fast she growing up doesnt seem like 5 mins ago she was born!!!

youngmum21 · 18/01/2007 17:15

emzickle- i think it 4 months but my friend started giving it to her baby when he was 3months she use to mix it with his milk so if he has 7oz she wud do 6 scoops of powder and one scoop of baby rice if your breast feeding not sure how you cud do it!!

wuzzlefraggle · 18/01/2007 17:17

glad to hear that you are both well youngmum

yeah it is all going fast isnt it?

so, is anybodies LO showing any signs of teething??

pmoore · 18/01/2007 17:18

emzickle- I want to ask that baby rice question too. I keep thinking if LO was born on time then she would now be 17 weeks and officially allowed! You've probably read about my 'big' baby! Does your LO drink 8oz all day? My LO has 7 for first 4 then 8oz at night. I never thought of the no power problem.

Has anyone gone back on the pill and have bleeding in between-instead of the 7 days break?

youngmum21 · 18/01/2007 17:19

well jasmine is slobering alot and chewing her hands(but think they chew them anyway) but nothing apart from that!!

youngmum21 · 18/01/2007 17:21

pmoore- i went back on the pill and didnt stop bleeding am now on norethistrone to stop it seems like alot of us are having fun with our periods!!

BENDYB · 18/01/2007 17:31

we r fine 2 wuzz, kai will b 11 wks on fri, he weighs just over 13lb! he's a lil fatty! Have u seen the montages? U should do 1!
he has been dribbling loads & chewing his fists a lot the last few days, also got red cheeks so could b teething!

I wanna start giving kai baby rice soon aswell, dont think i should yet though, i dunno, its all 2 confusing for me at the mo, some people say 4 months some say 6, but i know people who have given it at 3months, like u said youngmum. i dunno! he has 7oz at the mo, 5-6 bottles a day & still seems hungry after some of them, think i might put some of them up to 8oz.

pmoore-i'm back on the pill & woz bleeding for nearly the whole 3 weeks of taking it! Guess it must take a few months 2 get back to normal.

BENDYB · 18/01/2007 17:34

emzickle- what bout putting bottle in a jug of hot water? (out the tap) would prob take a while 2 heat up though but at least would b a bit warm.x

Gingeme · 18/01/2007 17:54

Welcome back wuzzlefraggle. Glad to hear your doing well with motherhood.
Oh Emzickle poor you. Hope you can claim on
your insurance.
I still say you ladies who have lo's who sleep through are so lucky. My lo wakes twice though I got him back to sleep at one time with his dummylast night.Thats a good indication though that if your baby usualy sleeps through then starts to wake then its time for baby rice. I was looking at my ds3 red book and he started on baby rice at 14 weeks and we never looked back though it isnt a garuantee it will help them sleep through again iyswim?
Dont like the idea of putting it in the bottle though. Should realy give it with a spoon and bowl.
Realy looking forward to the meet up.
Thanks Rumple. I told my son about you on the phone yesterday.
Well better make some dinner now. xx

wuzzlefraggle · 18/01/2007 17:54

bendy, glad you are both well
ive been wondering about the teething thing for a while now (have stated a thread on it too) Anna is chewing and sucking on her hands all the time, dribbles like mad, can be grizzly as the day goes on etc and has a bit of stubourn (sp?) nappy rash (no matter what i do), which is apparently another sign.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/01/2007 17:57

thanks gingeme my lo still wakes in the night, normally every 4 - 5 hours ish, so im envious too lol

majormoo · 18/01/2007 19:12

emzickle-at least you are ok though shame about your car

pmoore-ds was 16lbs 7oz when weighed at 11 weeks, and HV didn't think anything of it at all, so I would't worry about it all all.

I remember DD slept through for a while, then at 16 weeks started waking a lot, which coincided with her noticing food etc. Think we hung on til about 5 months to introduce solids. However, this time, DS doesn't sleep through anyway. We have cracked getting him to bed in the evenings about 7.30, but the downside is he wakes at 10,30pm, about 2am and 5am. Oh well-at least we have our evenings back.

I am so annoyed I am having to take antibiotics-it is making DS poo ALL THE TIME. I bled for ages after the birth so had swab taken at 6 week check. Lazy doctors surgery did not chase my results and at last on Monday got the anti-biotics for the infection-Strep g. So I have had it for 13 weeks before getting anything for it. grrr. post-natal care is RUBBISH down here. Anyway rant over.

Justers · 18/01/2007 20:01

Hi everyone not posted for ages. I'm also jealous of all your lo's sleeping right through as mine never has and he's 12 weeks! Loving all the montages of you wee ones but I'm definately not broody as still traumatised by birth - i think my lo will be an only child! Have you been watching big brother-unbelievable isn't it.Getting lo's pictures taken tomorrow at local mothercare store so that should be fun.

marthahm · 18/01/2007 20:38

welcome back wuzz. my dd is 12 weeks and seems to have been teething for at least 2 weeks. drooling, fist in mouth, aunt sally cheeks and grizzling.

Gingeme · 18/01/2007 21:50

Marthahm how is your lo getting on with the formula? Are you going cold turkey or one feed at a time? What milk have you decided on? Has your dh fed yet? Sorry so many questions but I was thinking of you just now while I was having my shower. Ooher that sounds a bit funny doesnt it.
Ah justers never say never......
