nicand2 - what a bombshell for your hv to drop. Definitely best to wait for an expert's opinion, and try not to worry about something that may not be a reality in the meantime (easier said than done).

Bendy - Are you a Chelsea supporter? I live 5mins walk from Stamford Bridge. Yesterday I went to Sainsbury's at Fulham Broadway and had to fight my way through the football supporters on their way to the game. Weird to think I might have walked right by you!

Had my longest stretch away from dd today - 6 hours! Went with my Mum for some retail theraphy and a glorious massage. Bliss. Left dh and dad with bub and a couple of bottles of expressed milk. Came home to dh watching the football on telly and bouncing dd in her chair with his foot. Quality father daughter time then

catgirl · 15/01/2007 08:52

pmore - very sad about your Gran.

Marthahm - glad you have made a decision you are happy with. I use Avent bottles too (have 6) and SMA Gold formula - re choosing formula I would see what is stocked in your local shop as that will be where you run to when you run out in the middle of the night! That was how we choose and it worked with both ds1 and ds2. I prepare the bottle with water then just leave them standing on the side (not in the fridge) and add formula as needed (have two of those formula pots), so ds2 has his milk at room temperature. Also have a small carton of ready made up stuff 'just in case', and until that is opened it can be kept at room temp. Hope that helps.

Gingeme - have seen that durex do latex free condoms - worth a look, if you are allergic to latex?

nicand2 - glad your move went well. As others have said, seek professional advice - does your surgery have speech therapist? Sounds similar to what happened to my friend's ds and he was diagnosed with verbal dyspraxia (not sure of spelling), which is sorted with speech therapy. Start hassling as the sooner you start the sooner you will see the benefits. By the way, my friend's ds is now 4 and just started reception with no problems. As she already has a dd, people were telling her that boys are lazy at speaking, etc etc, don't be fobbed off.

Emzickle - hope you have told your dh how you are feeling and that you are getting some support/rest. Difficult with a lo I know.

everyone else - morning! Going to rush and tidy the house now...

Gingeme · 15/01/2007 11:29

Wow thanks catgirl. As my darling sister pointed out(WHO IS 41 AND IS SLEEPING WITH A 20 YEAR OLD[SHOCK])am I having sex enough to get a coil fitted? Cheers love. Nothing like rubbing it in is there.
Lo was a real pain in the bum last night. He had a bottle at 8 as usual. Went to bed lovely woke at 2.30. Lovely. Then continued to wake on and off till about 6.15! Once hed fallen asleep ds3 woke at 7 on the dot demanding 'brek'. Needless to say Im knackered this morning. Ho hum. And ofcourse lo's asleep in his chair now looking very angelic.
Oh marthahm dont forget once lo starts on formula his pooh will differ in colour and constancy from nappy to nappy. You have to wind him atleast twice with each bottle and its up to you how you start. Some ladies do it one feed at a time where as I went cold turkey and had extremelt gorged boobs for about 5 days then they started to become softer ans less painful. After about another week to 10 days they should be ok. Though I was still producing milk till I had my period last week. Good luck. xx

pmoore · 15/01/2007 13:38

Gingeme- I too am allergic to latex condoms and am back on the pill but I keep forgetting to take it. I need to think of another option as not quite ready for pregnancy yet. Not having the injection as my friend is now having trouble concieving. Maybe the latex free condoms as catgirl suggests.

As for my grandma- my dad, uncle and grandad all sat with her for 14 hours they slept by her bedside. She woke up at 3am this morning and asked for a cup of tea and wanted to know why they were all there! poor thing- obviously she is just not ready to go.

BENDYB · 15/01/2007 14:58

youngmum-yeah spoke 2 the nurse when i took kai 4his jabs, she said its prob coz i'm still a bit anemic, were u anemic when u were pregnant? or after the birth?
has jasmine had her jabs yet?

mellin-yeah am a chelsea supporter, go 2 quite a lot of games, yeah i wonder if i walked past u!!!? weird!!

i use avent bottles aswell, & just make 2 or 3 at a time then put in fridge & heat up in a jug of hot water, did start doin them in microwave(every1 i know does this, like gingeme said if u give it a good shake it should be fine) but he wouldn't drink it! fussy eh? so had 2 change back 2 doin them in the jug, takes ages! when we're out i take the bottles in a cool bag & use 1 of them thermos flask things 2 warm them up.

sorry its long, hope every1s ok, oh still havent got round 2 doin 1 of them montage things like pmoores! any1 else done 1? i wanna c every1 elses los!

Gingeme · 15/01/2007 15:30

I had the depo injection pmoore. Totaly mucked up my system. Thats why I had acupuncture in 2005 and fell for Edward in 2006. It can take up to a year to clear from your system. Your grandma sounds like a fighter to me.
Who is coming to the meet up this time? Shall we say 11am to meet? Think the morning rush hour should be well and truly over by then. Oh what museum did we say?
No havnt attempted one of those montage thingys. I havnt got the brain capacity at the moment. Can just about type a few words on here.

majormoo · 15/01/2007 22:37

pmoore hope things go OK with your grandma. Sounds like she is a fighter! By the way Samantha is lovely.
nicand2-hope it all works out with your son. thanks for your comment on my health thread.
bendyb-dh and all his family are Chelsea fans -ds already has his kit!!
I am typing this with ER on in the background just in case it is too sad to watch properly. I spent the hour before shouting at the tv at the bullying on big brother, not that my life revolves around telly or anything.

Ds is 3 months tomorrow. The time is flying by.

youngmum21 · 16/01/2007 08:24

bendy- i went to see my doc and he has given me sum tabs to stop my bleeding then i can start retaking the pill and i shud be fine after that!!!
I was border line with the iron level so had to take the tabs anyway but this is myh 2nd period and the first one was normal even my doc thught it was odd xx

youngmum21 · 16/01/2007 08:25

clon · 16/01/2007 18:06

Hello long time no post, Em and Nic - sorry to hear about your situations, best wishes to you both.
DogMum great to hear from you and thanks for thinking of us gingeme,
I am just starting to engage in all the baby activities, baby massages classes started today, had some meet ups with my antenatal class mates and found out about lots of activities in the area so feel very energised after a couple of weeks feeling quite low for no real reason.
I would love to join the meet up but just waiting to hear if the builders are coming next week, if so I'm off to my sisters in Surrey for the week and won't be able to make it.
Megan making some noises now so best go

Gingeme · 16/01/2007 18:48

lovely montage gingeme. I love the bit with the two boys having a moment together.

Gotta go - its 5 past feeding time see ya

Rumpel · 16/01/2007 20:24

Hi All,

Haven't posted for a while as have been away and v busy.

Martha - bet you feel much better now. Was a weight off of my shoulders when I started ff too. I use NUK bottles, with number 2 medium flow teats, and NUK dummies. I've got flat nipples so they are the best so as not to cause nipple confusion, as I still bf too. I bf during night, if needed and first thing in morning and then both together during the day. I use Aptamil 2 milk - HV said it is more like the thin consistency of
breast milk. I just add powder when needed and microwave. I keep ready mixed cartons for when I am out and about. She is on about 7ozs now. You might find you Lo is a bit constipated for 1-2 days at first. Just add more water to the milk if so.

Gingeme - hope you DS' are settling in well. Weather is awful up here - pouring and blowing a gale.

Was away in Fife at the weekend visiting my bro's new LO. She is lovely - she seems so tiny now compared to our LO- even though she is actually bigger than A was when she was born. what a head of hair on her - a fine mop. Only thing is that it has thrown our routine out of the window and A has been awaking at 3am and 4.30am - am soooo tired just now. Last few weeks seem to have been so busy. Still trying v hard to lose weight and have been eating v healthily and toning up muscles.

pmoore - hope your gran is okay.

nic - sorry to hear about your troubles. One of my friends has Aspergers - we never knew as it wasn't even heard of when we were at school but one of my old clients has a autistic unit in her school and she used to tell me all about the different types and the specialist education - hope it goes well.

Well am off for a shower as am stinky and need sleep!!!XXX

Ginge - just checked out your montage - aww wee cutie. Looks like you. Have all you boys got red hair? Was sure Amber would have red hair - but it looks like it is going to be strawberry blonde - like me. Mine was your colour when I was born - I love that colour.

Gingeme · 16/01/2007 20:37

Thankyou Taffy1.Rumpel My boys rang me today. They also sent a post card with their house on it. It also has the back bit of ds3's school field. He starts school tomm and has to go back to junior school till hes 12 in August. My other son starts school next Monday. That will be a senior school.
lo has been all over the place with his feeds too. Hes got such a blocked up nose though I think hes uncomfortable when he feeds so he only has half a bottle and gets too tired to drink anymore so is hungrier quicker. Oh well hope it clears up soon and hes back to his 7 oz feeds.
Well take care ladies. Shame you wont be able to come to the meet up Clon .

Gingeme · 16/01/2007 20:58

No Rumpel my two older boys have mousy brown and very dark hair. My dh's Mum has ginger hair and obviously I have. Not sure what colour lo's hair is going to be yet though.

Hi all,

Montages are great- I love seeing other peoples lovely pictures. Think my LO has been genetically modified- the size of her! Hehe. Getting her weighed today so we shall see. She has been constipated for 4 days so am going to see HV.
Taffy can't see yours

Well my gran has been moved to a nursing home locally. And it is awful, dirty, smelly and the staff are rude. My uncle had to stay overnight with her as she wanted to go home. This is where is is supposed to spend her last few days/weeks! Sad, sad, sad. My mum and dad are a mission this morning to get her out.

The 24th is great for me. Where we meeting? And its my pay day.
