Aah so cute Clara!

Dd enjoys her bath now too :-) Sleep has gone to pot the past week (I obviously jinxed it by saying how well she was doing), I think mainly because she spends most of the night trying to ram both fists in her mouth. I've tried feeding her more when she wakes but she still only wants to feed once or twice and is just unsettled in between. She has fully discovered her hands and feet now and is trying to roll and getting cross when she can't. She's just not growing as quickly as average!

clumsypots · 10/05/2016 23:37

clara how lovely!

troika ds does the fists too, he is also dribbling lots and more unsettled, the hv thinks he is teething.

NorthernChinchilla · 11/05/2016 09:19

Soooo cute clara! I went to see my friend, trip put to the seaside, and her four week old. The size differential Shock Her DS is very sweet (daytime sleeper though, which is killing her) but it really brought home to both of us how much they change in two short months.

Troika it's so hard isn't it when you're going against the grain in some way- the whole pregnancy/ baby set up seems designed to guilt mothers.
I know you know, we all know, that the centiles are just one potential indicator, and that in themselves it doesn't matter if they go between centiles. However I doubt there's a one if us that wouldn't worry if our DC dropped a centile. You know your DD, and I'm sure she's thriving, and if she weren't you'd do something about it.

And don't say that clumsy!! DD has started dribbling and ramming her fist in her mouth and being unsettled, she's not allowed to teeth!

haquoi123 · 11/05/2016 10:23

Yup, another fist eater here! He rams it in his mouth so far he makes himself gag!! I agree with what the others say troika, it's all about how you feel the baby is doing. But fab that they're going to check for a posterior tongue tie, good luck with that.

Clara AWWWWWWWWWWW!

I poas yesterday as the change of weather has brought my ms memories flooding back. Never been so grateful to see a negative result!

chinchilla I saw a 6 week old yesterday who was tiny!! I couldn't believe that ds was ever that small but when I asked what baby weighed they were similar sizes! I felt a tad broody (nooooooooooo!)

clumsypots · 11/05/2016 10:47

northern that's what I thought! I don't fancy bf when teeth are involved although today I have officially been bfing longer than I did with dd!

haq hope you are feeling better today

clarabellski · 11/05/2016 20:42

Holy crap at POAS Haq, very brave! I can't even imagine another child at this point! I think DS is going to be a little emperor on his own.

Hung out in the glorious sunshine with my cousin and her little girl (8 months old) today. DS (who is 11 weeks) is the same length as her! We've created a monster!!!!!!! I shouldn't be surprised (I'm' 6ft) but it was still quite remarkable to see how big he is (or how teeny she is?!?!).

HandbagFan · 11/05/2016 21:20

Hello!

First night by ourselves tonight - DH is at a conference and not back til Saturday lunchtime. Scary! A few weeks back when he had problems with his shoulder I was doing all childcare but it's not the same as him not being here at all - even just to watch him while I go and do something. So far DS is being an absolute angel. Fingers crossed it continues!

Haquoi - Flowers for he negative POAS result. Sure there isn't a part of you that's disappointed? I can't even imagine the reality of having two babies in a year, but the idea of it's quite romantic.

Clara - DS was on 75th %ile last time he was measured. Surprising as I'm 5'8 and DH is only an inch taller. But I do have a 6'2 brother and Uncle so who knows? Glad you got to enjoy the sunshine.

Troika - Try not to worry about the small drop. DS goes up and down from day to day, week to week. He's usually around 25th%ile for weight but can go down to 21st. I always just remember it could be a big poo brewing (charming I know!) or that he's due a feed soon so tummy is running on empty. You're talking about grams of weight making a difference. As long as they're happy and getting through those nappies, they're OK!

We're missing a few of our regulars. Ladies, are you there in the shadows? It would be nice to hear from you!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/05/2016 04:21

Bah! DD has been magnificently out of routine the past few days (and by routine I mean it was sleep, eat and play in fairly predictable blocks).
She wanted to feed loads one day, has been randomly nodding off and/or staying awake longer, had utter screaming ab dabs this afternoon for no reason and is now awake next to me ConfusedAngry

I'm muttering growth spurt in my head as well as 'this too shall pass'...

haquoi123 · 12/05/2016 05:02

Hi chinchilla, 'waves', what a lovely time of day this is! Ds also out of sorts - more grumpy than usual and not sleeping very well either. And I've got a headache :( hope you get some sleep soon

handbag yeah the romanticised part of me thought it would be nice, but like clara says, ds is emperor of the family Kingdom and my body heat isn't ready. Also I've been pg at this time of year for the last two years - just want to enjoy the sun! :) Hope your alone time goes well, best of luck with it all (haven't had to do it myself yet, hats off to you!)

clumsy another one here not looking forward to bf with teeth. Confused

NorthernChinchilla · 12/05/2016 06:32

Hi haq, great isn't it? And if I wake in the middle of the night, I have to wait a cycle (so 3 hours) before I can drop off again. Have has breakfast and am going to give DD to OH so I can get another hour. Need to be up by 8 though to call the Doc; my right knee has swollen to the point it's restricting movement and I fear it's the return of a cyst.
Yay, more glamour!

Hope your headache improves too.

By the way, I never had any issue bf when DS had teeth. I know people can have problems but I had nary a nibble Smile

HandbagFan · 12/05/2016 11:01

Well we seem to be surviving! We were both in bed at 11 last night. My alarm went off at 3.30 (pumping) and DS woke up during this. Luckily I'd already made up a bottle so once I'd finished he got fed and nappy changed and back down to sleep. He woke up again about 6 but went back off after a hand was out on his chest. He woke up for the day at 7.30am which was fantastic! Since then we've had nap time at 9, bottle at 10 and we're going out for lunch in a bit. He's dressed and clean, I'm showered and dressed and even have a bit of eyeliner on! Living the dream...

clarabellski · 12/05/2016 13:10

Eyeliner?? Now you're just showing off! Wink

Taking ds for his first swim this weekend!!

clumsypots · 12/05/2016 18:57

Check you out handbag woot woo!

Oh clara enjoy! Ds loves his baths j can't wait until my back is better so I can take him too.

How's the knee northern? What did the doc say?

LibertyBelles · 12/05/2016 20:33

clara took DD swimming for the first time today at 14 weeks. She loved it, took about 10 mins to get used to it but by the end she was smiling. Think it'll take a few more sessions till I'm brave enough to put her face under but we'll get there

clarabellski · 12/05/2016 21:29

Awesome liberty! Are you doing classes or diy?

LibertyBelles · 12/05/2016 22:15

DIY :) in

HandbagFan · 13/05/2016 11:17

Bad night last night, I think caused by over excitement at my brother being here yesterday evening - DS loves him and his beard! Got to bed just before 1am, up at 4am for an hour then up for the day at 6.50. DS currently dozing on his sleepyhead, me on the sofa watching This Morning.

DH is taking baby for swimming classes starting in a week or two. I'm pleased they'll have something to do together and it'll be nice to get an hour to rest or do my nails etc. Having a baby is pretty full on!

clumsypots · 13/05/2016 11:58

liberty that sounds awesome!

handbag it will be nice for you to get some free time, I painted my toenails for the first time this week as I didn't like flip flops with no colour on show.

It's my dd's birthday party tomorrow and she has asked for party bags, no one else seems to be doing party bags this year so I have no idea what to put in them Confused they are all 10 this year so I'm not sure the usual plastic crap will be as appreciated as it used to be. Going to have to dose up on painkillers to get through the bowling too, at least I have an excuse if I come last!

LibertyBelles · 13/05/2016 12:19

handbag! Yay for the hour off that sounds good! Yeah I stupidly didn't realise a baby is so all consuming!

LibertyBelles · 13/05/2016 12:20

clumsy yeh just did slow intro to the pool yesterday - so slowing lowering her in and then some swoshing around. Will try and build up to more splashing etc next time

Troika · 13/05/2016 12:41

Clumsy dd has done stuff like bath bombs or hot chocolate sticks in her party bags ( she's 10 this month too Smile)

Ds has a party at the leisure centre tomorrow and dd1 is swimming while he's there. Not sure whether to take dd2 in as well ( main issue is putting myself in swimming costume Blush)

Troika · 13/05/2016 12:45

Pil arriving shortly. They think I'm useless after my awful pregnancy. Thankfully dd has been an angel this morning so I've managed to get quite a bit done.

clarabellski · 13/05/2016 13:14

Thanks liberty. We're planning to DIY as well as we're both pretty happy swimmers. I also have a friend who used to be a swimming coach. She has a 2 year old and she has suggested we go swimming together on Fridays. Yes please!!!!!

I know the feeling Troika. I am milk-bottle white I might scare away kids who think I'm a ghost!

I also painted my toenails this week (shocking pink!). Just for the novelty of being able to reach them again! Grin

LibertyBelles · 14/05/2016 09:40

God DD was awake all night, she's so wiggly and won't lie still (this is in bed with us) don't know what to do at this point I'd be happy if she sleep even if she was attached all night HELP

clumsypots · 14/05/2016 09:58

Oh liberty Flowers is she having daytime naps? Apparently they sleep better at night if they sleep well during the day.

troika thanks for the ideas, found some small beanie babies for a couple of quid so they have those with some sweets and a cupcake each. May 2006 was obviously an awesome month too!
