Fingers crossed. Its remarkable how different I feel now baby is 10 days old. Felt like recovery from labour would never happen! Hopefully this is one of those things that passes too :)

firsttimemum15 · 07/02/2016 18:43

Glad you're feeling better....

Lots of wet nappies. Fewer dirtier but when she fills them she fills them. Maybe om. Worried unnecessarily

cheeseandcrackers · 07/02/2016 19:16

Anyone know who to contact for advice on blood loss once midwives have discharged you? Mine seems to be getting heavier and bright red again after 3.5 weeks with big clot too (sorry if tmi...). Don't really want to go to gp if it's normal and would take a while to get an appointment but not sure who else to contact.

firsttimemum15 · 07/02/2016 19:36

Contact triage from the hospital where you had baby should answer 247. I wouldn't wait to ring

Hope you're ok

vickyors · 07/02/2016 22:33

Hope you're ok cheese..

weird question..
* Has anyone else been getting night sweats? I'm having to change the sheets most days.. Sorry tmi.. Confused

Elvi1 · 08/02/2016 00:55

Vickyors - me. Came on all of a sudden in last couple of days. I read that it's normal - it's you body get rid of excess water from pregnancy. Or something like that!

Phizpop · 08/02/2016 13:02

Ah is that what it is? I've been sweating buckets, but I can now see my ankles in their natural form and my wedding ring fits again!

firsttimemum15 · 08/02/2016 20:01

How is everyone.

I feel we've regressed. No sleep . No naps really.

I'm exhausted.

LibertyBelles · 08/02/2016 20:45

Feeding is going better but it is almost constant - trying not to stress about getting her into a routine! She's 1 week!! Finally did first non mec poo today - first poi since Friday which was awesome and makes me feel much better. Going to register the birth tomorrow and then midwife for next weigh in on Wednesday! Really hoping she will have started to gain on Wednesday xxx

vickyors · 08/02/2016 22:11

We had a visit from the health visitor today and they mean to be so supportive, but it feels like they're judging you.. I've had an awesome midwife.. So it was always going to be hard..

We've regressed a bit with sleep etc.. I think DS2 may be going through a growth spurt as she fed for ages and wouldn't settle between 5 and 7, and has been unsettled since.. So I'm a bit knackered now.. Just hoping that if she's tired she'll have a longer patch of sleep later.. Maybe..

cheeseandcrackers · 09/02/2016 02:22

All fine thanks vicky and first

I thought all was actually going really well here, ds2 was settling into a pattern of feeding every 3 -4 hours at night and every couple of hours during the day with naps in between when I could put him down (I couldn't put ds1 down for naps until he was 6 months, always on me, in buggy or car before then so I could never get anything done). But... he's only put on an ounce in a week so I have to feed him more...

Hoping everyone else is sound asleep...

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 04:58

Thay sounds good cheese

Looking for some advice or reassurance myself now.

It feels like baby hardly slept yesterday and day before and also for two nights BUT I'm aware it also seems worse than it is when you're sleep deprived l.

I've been advised to let her go no longer than 4 hours without a feed but ideally no longer than 3.

Last night she fed lots in the early afternoon and evening then had a bath and fed from after thst until we both went to sleep. I was so tired I Coslept so I could cat nap whilst she fed. We've all done it right? I'm not for mig bad habits am I?

My main concern is that she went from that time u til no wish (so definitely a good 4.5 hours possibly, maybe longer, I didn't look at clock properly when I went to sleep)
Without a feed.

Is this ok? Keeping in mind my supply issues. I've been told to feed regularly and to feed at least twice overnight sue to hormone levels being higher at night.

BUT I know sleep is important for her too (and me).

I feel like I csnt do right for doing wrong. I was exhausted yesterday but now I feel bad for having lots of sleep.

Can anyone advise.

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 05:04

Bab is a little older than yours I think. Almost 6 weeks

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 05:09

Oh and have been told to feed 3 hours from start of a feed or 2 hours from the end. Problem being though feeds haven't had clear start and ends so I've been struggling with this and living entirely by thst rule would mean it's always time for feeding some days or that a feed would need starting as one ends.

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 07:06

PS Vicky good luck with the growth spurt.

LibertyBelles · 09/02/2016 08:44

We had a 4 hour sleep last night - is this going to mess up my supply at 1 week old ?

vickyors · 09/02/2016 09:41

My midwife said that once they're over 7lbs and gaining weight, 3-4 hours at night is fine.. I would think they'd wake if hungry..

And last night after an epic feed from. 10-1, Little one slept till 4.30.. So feel vaguely human today.. Plus, if anything, when she woke at 4.30 she fed really well and went back to sleep.. It seemed to settle her tbh..

Two weeks down.. Four more to go until (hopefully) we're out of the 6 week crazy patch..!!

LibertyBelles · 09/02/2016 09:58

Good stuff vickyors

Nousername2015 · 09/02/2016 12:15

That's great vicky! And liberty that kind of stretch wouldn't mess up your supply. Hope you didn't wake up with rock hard boobs though!

DS is 4 weeks old today, no idea where the time has gone. After a very difficult few weeks he is a bit easier to settle at night now and we get a few good nights. He's just starting to be awake a bit more now too although never manages 2 hours between feeds in the day. Still learning but starting to enjoy it now!

Didn't mean to worry you liberty it was jusy what I was told but largely due to the issues I was having.

In general feeding is a supply and demand process. Speak to a specialist to find out more. I don't want to panic you giving the odd bottle here and there should be fine.

LibertyBelles · 09/02/2016 18:10

firsttimemum huh? I haven't been giving any bottles?

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 18:50

I didn't meant that sorry sleep deprivation. You asked about the sleep stretches didn't you? Sorry....

LibertyBelles · 09/02/2016 19:04

No worries firsttimemum - yeah she is still feeding well, that was the first night of sleeping a bit longer

firsttimemum15 · 09/02/2016 21:22

It's great isn't it? We haven't had many and when she does I think oh no should she have fed more

LibertyBelles · 09/02/2016 21:36

Yeah that's exactly what I thought panicked this morning!! Think she might be having a growth spurt - she's been feeding all day!
