As for poo Pinky, if you're worried I'd say speak to a gp. The worst that will happen is that they say 'don't worry, it's fine'. Or they will have tips or want to monitor or whatever. It might be worth keeping a poo diary never thought I'd say that to anyone! I know when ds had bouts of hunger strike and also when reflux was bad I could easily lose perspective of how frequently it was happening because the worry lasts longer than the relief that a meal was eaten/stayed down. If that makes sense?!?

cuphat · 25/05/2015 23:07

Aww thanks Mrs Smile . It is - in theory! Hospital has overbooked so I'll be very lucky if it actually happens tomorrow. They called and asked if I would change to when I'll be 39+6! I refused to volunteer for that so they've said I can go in and try my chances but that I might end up having to wait a couple of days extra anyway (they're also overbooked on Weds). I think I've been gradually losing my plug over a few days so I can see a possible EMCS situation happening...

Re poo, I think that the amount of water they drink makes a big difference too. DD's are usually non-solid and it's when she hasn't drank enough for some reason that they turn solid.

cuphat · 25/05/2015 23:10

And it's past my bedtime but if I'm going to starve myself for nothing tomorrow then I'm eating right up until midnight Grin .

SunnyL · 26/05/2015 07:54

Wow hadn't clocked that another one was coming so soon. Good luck Cup!

HungryHorace · 26/05/2015 08:02

Good luck, Cup! I wouldn't have wanted to wait that long so let's hope you get in today. :-)

Oh, and Pinky, have you tried lactulose? It's a stool softener, so may help.

DS gets given it after he's reacted to milk in food and it seems to help him. DD gets it when we've given her ice cream as a treat as her poo then suffers due to her remaining touch of lactose intolerance.

Good luck Cuphat - fingers crossed they get you in today...and get the baby out!

Pinkbear - welcome back! Regards pooping, I only know that in the past getting a bit of dried fruit down Joe has helped when he's constipated but other than that I'd second the lactulose tip. Or put dates in the banana smoothies? Dried dates are nice and sweet so she should like the taste.

We had been making slow but contented moves towards the idea of potty training but since I've been back on a work contract 3-4 days a week Joe is at his childminder's and so it's gone by the wayside a bit. As have my 4-weekly gym visits. So now I'm still fat AND Joe still pees his pants. Great.

He turns two on Friday and we had planned a zoo visit but like his birthday every year (from actual birth day to last year to this) it seems rain is likely. Uncool. I thought an upside of late Spring babies was supposed to be good weather!

Oops. Sorry bout the doubling up.

Sunbeam18 · 26/05/2015 11:00

Good luck, Cup!

Wow, the second birthdays are about to start. Meanwhile, we have had three nights of extreme yelling and crying (him, not us) at bedtime when he's put into his cot. Last night it lasted two hours... Is this a developmental thing??? He usually goes to bed like a lamb with barely a peep since we sleep trained in January.

AlohaMama · 26/05/2015 14:40

Pibkbear, hi, welcome back. I think banana doesn't help with constipation. Pear is much better, so focus on her eating that. Our paediatrician in the US used to suggest pear juice.

PeekABooPinky101 · 26/05/2015 21:53

She has lactulose already, I might step the dose up to the max the chemist told me.
Pears a big hit at the moment so hoping that helps. Fingers crossed it's another phase that passes! Thanks everyone.

Good luck cup, hope you are soon having cuddles!

SunnyL · 27/05/2015 07:29

Will she eat sweetcorn? Lily was a beast last night and chomped her way through 5 sweetcorn fritters for dinner. At least some of it made an appearance before bedtime Shock

PeekABooPinky101 · 27/05/2015 13:32

She loves sweet corn! And peas. Might try a few things with both of them in. Think her fussy phase of eating hadn't helped things.

It will pass.....

SunnyL · 27/05/2015 15:28

Cup baby????,

HungryHorace · 27/05/2015 19:59

Probably no signal in hospital. Boo!

SunnyL · 27/05/2015 20:47

Chuh. Typical. Since I'm not pregnant I have to rely on others to satisfy my broodiness with regular photos of cute babies.

Come on baby Cup!

HungryHorace · 27/05/2015 20:48

Just get pregnant!! :-)

Obviously that doesn't help right now.

SunnyL · 27/05/2015 21:00

I may have thrown the pill packet away........

Mrs81 · 27/05/2015 21:17

Ooooh. How exciting Sunny Smile Did your periods return to normal quickly last time?

I haven't gone back on the pill since ds was born. It does mean that our conversations/decisions of dc2 need to not be too spontaneous we decided to wait until I have clarity about work which should happen over the summer

SunnyL · 27/05/2015 21:35

Um I didn't even have a period last time. Took us exactly 2 weeks to get pregnant Blush.

Of course opportunities for baby making were more plentiful in those days. Having a shift worker for a partner and a errant toddler could make it a lot longer this time.

Mrs81 · 27/05/2015 21:43

That reminds me of a friend. She asked her gp about coming off the pill/fertility. GP said allow up to a year. Friend thought "eeeek, best get a wriggle on". Pregnant immediately Smile

Of course there's no guarantee that happens again... she and you were lucky Grin

BeanCalledPickle · 28/05/2015 01:49

Don't do it! They gang up on you and try and break you!!

HungryHorace · 28/05/2015 05:12

Exciting, Sunny!

I've no idea how people have a third as opportunities to even consider DTD are few and far between!

Bean, wait til Juno is up and at 'em...there's real ganging up then!! Our 2 are utter menaces.

Mrs81 · 28/05/2015 06:42

....and you wouldn't change it for the world??!?

DH is the youngest of 3. Despite sibling 1 & 2 only being a year apart, he's 3 yrs younger than middle sibling. I think that's your answer Hungry Grin
