Apparently the other thread is closed. How're nappy explosions going?
Baby bought up a little bit, but I thinks it's because she had a total of 9oz in an hour.

Just think of what is best for your children. although you think you can accept the harsh words and behaviour; it's not just you. Your kids are witnessing this behaviour too.
Hope you're able to get some help and talk it over with someone who can really help.

Worriedaboutwee · 17/05/2015 00:56

Bigfam I am new to this thread so I hope you don't mind me commenting on your situation as a stranger, but i just wanted to say that from personal experience, the emotional scars from the name calling and manipulation lasted much, much longer than the physical ones. I'm not saying any type of abuse is worse than the other but please don't let your life be ruined, by someone who thinks it's okay to treat you like that.

bigfam I really don't know what to say other than no one deserves to go through what you are. Keep talking Flowers

bigfam · 17/05/2015 06:38

I might have to ask for my posts to be removed, they're quite revealing. Thanks for the support though guys.

I can't report my posts, maybe it's because I'm not on the desktop site. Can someone report them so they're removed, I'm dreading someone I know is going to come across them, please let me know when any of you do, much appreciated x

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/05/2015 08:23

I've reported them. I'm on a mobile app and I can do it so you should be able to? This there a big arrow on the bottom of your post? That's how I did it. Anyway I've never reported a post before so hope I've done it right. They may contact you before removing to make sure you want them taken down. Hope you are ok x

bigfam · 17/05/2015 09:58

Thanks Eliza, I've emailed them anyway and they're going to remove them. I just really needed a rant, and couldn't in rl. X

Just discovered a red mark on the tip of dd's tongue
Looks like she's bitten herself- but she doesn't have any teeth!

Elizadoesdolittle · 18/05/2015 11:28

Oh dear pesto

Took DS to get his last jabs this morning but he didn't have them as he had a bit of a temp so back home for snuggles and calpol instead. I mentioned he was a bit out of sorts yesterday and his eyes were so gunky. They were stuck together this morning. So she made him a gp appt for tomorrow. Probably just a cold but best to get it checked. His just his eyes that I worry about.

Pesto11 · 18/05/2015 21:29

Hope he's ok tomorrow and the eye is less gunky!
Will be such a relief when jabs are all out of the way

bigfam · 18/05/2015 22:08

Aww Eliza hope Lil one is better soon. Dd2 has jabs at the end of may, she's old enough to know exactly what they are and she is dreading it. I know she's not going to let anyone near her with a needle! The baby has lost nearly of her hair now, so it's just a waiting game as to whether her locks turn out like both of her sisters!

Hope your ds is better soon eliza. Sticky eyes are horrible. Ds had them as newborn. I just used cooled booked water.

Ds is covered in a rash. It's quite bad on his face. Took him to out of hours gp at weekend and he said it's either viral or eczema. He gave him some stuff for the bath and some cream but it's got a lot worse today so it's back to the drs in the morning if it hasn't gone away over night.

I think my nipple thrush is back again. I'm in agony with it and I'm wondering if the rash he has is anything to do with it.

Has anyone seen a rash like this before?

Cooled booked water? I meant boiled!

Elizadoesdolittle · 18/05/2015 22:57

Thanks ladies. He seemed fairly happy this evening so hopefully it's a short lived thing. He seems to get gunky eyes fairly regularly and I use cooled boiled water thanks littlepink

I'm afraid I'm on my phone so I can't see the pic littlepink but I hope the rash is nothing.

Worriedaboutwee · 18/05/2015 23:26

Think we have got to the bottom of the sleep issues. Ds2 diagnosed with silent reflux today and prescribed infant gaviscon. I know it can be hit or miss with the gaviscon but does anyone have any idea is long it can take to start to work?

September60b · 19/05/2015 07:54

I think a few of the ladies have used gaviscon worried, at least your ds has been diagnosed now.

Eliza my dd had a gunky eye when she was a few weeks old, and the midwife suggested I bathed it in expressed breastmilk. It cleared it up right away strangely enough! Can't remember if you are bf or ff so it might not be an option for you. We used some cooled boiled water too.

Little I've never seen a rash like that before. Is it bothering him at all, has he got any other symptoms?

LittlePink · 19/05/2015 09:06

It's not bothering him. We deemed that if it was itchy he would be upset and fussing a lot but he's quite happy with no other symptoms. I want his beautiful face clear though. Can't bear it when they've got rashes and skin problems! Dh is doing shared learning with a paediatrician at the hospital he works at so he's going to show her the pics and see what she thinks. The Dr at the weekend said eczema but I'm not convinced.

Dec1314mummy · 19/05/2015 11:10

worried it took about a week really to start seeing signs of improvement but we have needed ranitidine both times as well to see a proper improvement.
little Ds has rashes all of the time. Some are linked to his allergies and he has ezcema, but the one your Ds has now looks just like the one Ds has at the moment and it's always when he's teething and so gets hot at night etc. obviously I have no idea of that's what it is for your Ds but it does look very similar.

LittlePink · 19/05/2015 12:42

Thanks dec. That's really helpful. If it's not one thing it's something else with these babies isn't it!

I went to a bfing clinic this morning and the lady advised me to do a trial run without the ranitidine and see how he goes. Dec do you know if you can just stop it or does it have to be weaned? She reckons his gut will have matured a bit now and might cope without it as the reflux doesn't bother him at all. He laughs when he's sick sometimes and never cries with it. I'm just nervous about stopping as eliza said about the acid in the sick doing damage to the oesophagus. I didn't get on well with gaviscon at all. With him not taking a bottle, as he refused it again after I thought we'd cracked it, I had to syringe it into him and it was a terrible faff and his sick just became lumpy like crystally lumps, it was horrible so I called it a day on that and have carried on the ranitidine as at least he's getting protection from that but it's how to know when he can come off it. The lady is going to speak to an infant feeding specialist and call me with a plan which is great but it is going against the gp really who said continue. Arghhh I don't know!

How are everyone's nights now? Ds is waking once which is a vast improvement on that God awful sleep regression he went through at 4 mths, he seems, touch wood, to be through the worst of that one!

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/05/2015 14:34

sept thanks. I remember someone else saying breastmilk is a miracle cure for all eye gunk. Very odd. I'm mix feeding so is an option for me.

littlepink personally I wouldn't just take him off it. If you feel that he no longer needs as much then calculate the minium dosage required for his weight then go from there. You can always increase his dose to the maximum allowed for his weight if you feel it doesn't work. It's true his gut may have matured and a lot of babies with reflux outgrow it at 6 months because of a mixture of being upright more and weaning. For what it's worth my DD2 was what they call a happy sicker. She never cried and would often just smile at me after.

September60b · 19/05/2015 18:17

Dd has settled a bit at night now, waking twice but going straight back to sleep after a quick feed. She's so much better to settle for naps now too. I still can't put her down in her basket in the daytime unless she's really sleepy but generally she's a lot happier.

She's coming to the end of her wonder week soon. This one has been the longest yet and it really feels like it!

Dec1314mummy · 20/05/2015 08:32

little it definitely has to be weaned. It can cause real issues if it's not. Sorry in a rush but will be back later to catch up properly!

bigfam · 20/05/2015 14:29

We've hit 17 weeks and the past few nights have been bliss, when she starts to get tired around 7pm I take her up, turn the white noise on, and she doesn't wake til half 5-6. Last night was a straight 12 hours! She babbles away now and blows bubbles, so sweet. Same here with the rashes little, am forever applying oilatum, but then when I over do it she gets spotty, phew it's hard work keeping these babies beautiful! Hope everyone's ok x

Wow bigfam how on earth have you managed that?! Dd is being a nightmare again for naps and last nights sleep was pretty rubbish again. I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong as both are terrible sleepers and I have done everything to try and help it! Arghhh! Ah well! Maybe they will sleep one day! My mums been around a lot lately and she has said they are just nightmare sleepers and that myself and my sister were great in comparison!
little I'm so glad that Ds's reflux seems to be improving. That's great news. sept I'm glad things are getting a little easier for you too.
Dd is 20 weeks today! Time has gone fast... I'm still waiting for the time in gets easier though!
