Well I would tentatively say room move was ok. Bloody angelcare alarm went off at 1.30 cod he had wiggled off the mat. Then had to go in at 4.30 and 5 to put dummy back in but then he went back to sleep till 7.30. I need to make sure he has a decent feed before bed I think. Not sure how to change the dummy thing, guess once he finds thumb properly or can pick dummy up and put it in himself?

Hope you have all had good nights

FATEdestiny · 03/01/2015 10:27

Bouncy chair is definitely my best-tip under-rated bit of baby equipment. I'd almost call it essential.

But then as a daytime sleep tool, many swear by a sling. I can't get on with 'baby wearing' though. I like my personal space too much.

Bigger three on sleepover with grandparents today. DH, baby an I got a blissful lie-in. I didn't get up until 9am.

Holls - Once he's properly sleeping though and doesn't wake at all, the dummy falling out won't matter. Long term mine only have the dummy in their mouth for 10-30 minutes when first going to sleep, until they drop off. Once asleep, they shouldn't need it.

Having said that all of my sleeping bags (from birth right up to 36 months) have a ribbon sewn onto the chest with a press stud sewn at the end - ready to attach the dummy to. That makes for finding the dummy in the night much easier and also stops then from lying on their dummy when it falls out and so being uncomfortable and waking up.

holls2000 · 03/01/2015 12:13

fate wow. you mean one day he will sleep THROUGH like properly.?????? I can't wait. he spits his dummy out once he falls asleep. when I went in at 5 he was wide awake but just left him and he went back to sleep!

FATEdestiny · 03/01/2015 13:06

At some point it'll definitely happen. Here's hoping for sooner rather than later. Grin

RedToothBrush · 03/01/2015 14:37

Fate I think I agree with you on the bouncer. We weren't going to get one but Aldi did a one off offer before DS was born with them for £15. So we just got one as we couldn't argue with the price. He used it so much before, but now refuses to sleep in it unfortunately. Baby sling has been the thing that has been the one waste of money as he hates being restricted. And I don't know what I'd do without Ewan.

He still can't roll, but his favourite thing now, is being held whilst he stands up. ALL DAY. well it feels like it according to my arms. Obviously rolling isn't exciting enough.

As for feeding. Someone is now being difficult with the bottle as he's now preferring direct from source so it really is looking like we have come full circle.

I obviously have a son who seems to like doing things backward.

Oh no, are red cheeks, dribbling and cramming everything they can find into their mouths definitely teething signs? I've been telling myself it's too soon... Bf with teeth sounds scary!

RedToothBrush · 03/01/2015 15:58

Certainly are Inbl00m...

DH went out to recycle tree. He has returned with a door bouncer.

DS loves it, maybe a little too much... he's just been sick with excitement.

red barney has rolled 3 times. however he much prefers standing up. jumperoo time soon I think.

however. he has started putting his head forwards when in car seat. I don't understand why. or know how to stop it.

FATEdestiny · 03/01/2015 17:59

Felicity's favourite thing at the moment is playing at pretending to be the hands of a clock. I put her down and her head stays more-or-less in the same place but one moment she is pointing to, say, 12 o'clock then next time I look she's pointing to 3 o'clock, then she's spun all the way around to 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock... and so on. Around and around she goes.

She does it at night too - often being across ways in the cot.

Great news on the feeding Red. Which are you finding you prefer?

Eatscones · 03/01/2015 18:57

My lil one has all the signs of teething too inbl00m...but my dd1 did that around 3 months and didn't actually cut a tooth until 9 month ....so I'm hoping her little brother will be the same!

Anyone know of a bug spray that can be used on babies under 6 months?

FATEdestiny · 03/01/2015 19:18

Bug spray like an insect repellent? Not sure I'm afraid, maybe a pharmacist would be able to help?

TeamEponine · 03/01/2015 19:51

Tea tree oil is great as an inset repellant. That might be ok for little ones?

KitKat1985 · 03/01/2015 19:54

Thank you for your nice wishes for DH. He's a bit brighter today, but it's still hard. As soon as Jessica is asleep (which hasn't been much today) I've been helping DH to wash / dress or make him some food etc, so it's a bit relentless. Hopefully things get better soon.

Oh, and we have signs of teething too. Sometimes I think I can see a hint of white under her gumline but it's hard to tell as she doesn't really like me looking!

Eatscones · 03/01/2015 22:29

Thanks, and yes I was asking about insect repellent...I talked to a pharmacist tonight and they mentioned pure citronella oil, so I'll have to do some research and find out where I can get it.

holls2000 · 03/01/2015 22:33

kitkat I try to do the look for white and b just takes it as permission to munch my finger with either a gummy smile or a shriek depending on level of ouch.

had to.give calpol tonight he got v upset and drooly and redcheeked and fist munchy.poor boy. being a baby is hard work.

cookielove · 04/01/2015 03:36

holls Eli pulls himself forward in his car seat I don't like it but there is nothing I can do to stop him.

We can see a little bit of white in his gums and he is definitely teething so much drool and hand munching and he is particular to one side. He is also quite unsettled :(

It is such a tease when he sleeps through the night. And then doesn't for another few days. Hmm

We had got a really good routine gping bed at 7.00 slept till 9.30 bottle then either sleep through or sleep till 3-4 quick snack on a bottle and back to sleep till the am. But the last couple of nights he has gone down at 7.00 and woken less than an hr later and struggled to go back off. Not sure why? Or what to do? Any ideas?

KitKat1985 · 04/01/2015 09:17

Cookie does he appear hungry? Just wondering if maybe a growth spurt?

Just to say I've found a couple of minutes this morning to weigh myself (I've had a diet break over Christmas) and am aiming to get back on shifting my pregnancy weight. I thought since maybe it's the season of New Years resolutions I might try and revive the September Mummas weight loss thread if anyone would care to join me? Link here:

TeamEponine · 04/01/2015 09:22

Sounds like a good idea kitkat! I was on that thread, but it went all quiet. I shall get back on it for some motivation Grin

In other news, DD rolled over onto her front this morning for the first time! She looked very confused a promptly cried as she hates tummy time. She's not made huge signs of rolling before, so we were a bit surprised too!

holls2000 · 04/01/2015 10:31

I shall join weight loss thread. mil told me how fat I was so needs sorting.

fate you are a genius b slept till 7. admittedly he was sponsored by 2.5ml of calpol but still Grin

KitKat1985 · 04/01/2015 10:37

Holls: Shock at your MIL. I hope you told her to .... ... I'm sure you can fill in the blanks!

holls2000 · 04/01/2015 14:25

wasn't quite as bad as I make it sound. more a you need to lose weight I worry you moght get diabetes. my hormonal mind didn't deal well with it. Grin

Nazly · 04/01/2015 16:41

Holls !!! To your mil! Imho mils are not allowed to make those sort of comments in one way or another!

So ds normally sleeps from 8pm till 3-4am, then wakes for a feed, sleeps till 5-6am and then another couple of hours till 8-9
Last night he woke at 12:30, 2:30, 4, 5:30 and was awake from 6:30! Turned on white noise and he slept from 7 to 8:30 which was my best sleep
What's going ?!?
He is well, no sickness, no crying, nothing... I cancelled our plans to go out as I was shattered...

Nazly · 04/01/2015 17:27

I was eating an apple and put it on ds tongue for a second so he can test it; I have been doing this with different things last couple of weeks and he always pulled faces and looked at me surprised; this time he grabbed my hand so I can not take it away and started trying to eat it with such greed and pleasure it was funny to watch :)

I feel most of the developments have been more sudden than gradual here at least that's how they seemed to me, could this be the start of getting greedy for food? I eventually had to trick him and hide the apple as he didn't want to let it go and would nag if I moved it even slightly away
