doli where are you? We want details. What made poas? Does dh know? Congratulations.

BettyOff · 06/06/2014 20:50

Aaaagh that's amazing news Doli! What happened to all that it'll never happen malarkey?!! Grin How far along are you? How are you feeling about it?

Brew and Thanks

StormyBrid · 06/06/2014 21:08

I'm not in a pub yet. I'm in the back yard having a naughty smoke, grinning hugely at doli's news. It's actually kind of hard to smoke when your face is doing this: Grin

Shatteredmamma1 · 06/06/2014 21:15

doli !!!!!!!!! Grin you're the first!!!! Well done!!!! Thanks are you feeling ok??? Grin

dolicapax · 06/06/2014 21:45

Aw guys, you're the absolute best. Thanks Thanks

Right, details scmeetails... I'm 41, I have PCOS, and a 5cm cyst, so I decided to decide that it wouldn't happen, because then I wouldn't spend every month counting days and obsessing...

.... but today's the grocery shopping day, and given I was late, my boobs felt weird, my stomach felt weird and I nearly puked my lunch I decided to buy a test. Which I peed on. And it was a positive. At which point I nearly passed out!

So I guess that makes me 4 weeks.

DH is sitting in corner coming down from a massive adrenalin high. He spent the day doing a very high level presentation on a venture capital deal. He came home to be handed a peed on stick. He doesn't quite know which way is up right now Grin

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 06/06/2014 21:52

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 06/06/2014 21:52

(That's my excited scream)

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 06/06/2014 22:19

Don't leave us for the February 2015 antenatal group will you Doli? I was just wondering the other day who would be first. Come on then girls, who's next?!?

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 06/06/2014 22:23

I've just taught myself to crochet too. So expect some terribly executed crocheted items to come your way.

I also can't stop smiling. Imagine, a dolilet (that
Might need work, looks like toilet... Capaxlet? Hmm, looks like a brand of antibiotics. Saucelet?)

I'm doing the thing where you're so excited you can't stop talking. Sorry about that.

dolicapax · 06/06/2014 22:46

Gerry you are brilliant Grin

Eco so sorry, I completely forgot to say, yes, more than happy to run an eye over the survey if a third party opinion would help. I'll PM my email address.

Well, I for one am off to bed. It's been a weird (but good) day.

Plonkysaurus · 06/06/2014 23:00

Doli you sly devil! Congratulations Smile

WottaMess · 07/06/2014 08:00

Just looking back at eco's cross post and Grin at doli's lovely and exciting project! Smile

My friend got engaged yesterday which had me all Grin so to find your post too was just great.

And great news re dh retiring. You'll be glad of the extra help Wink. All so exciting... But I agree with whoever it was who wanted to make sure you don't abandon us for a newer, younger, more pregnant model of a Fred Shock.

dolicapax · 07/06/2014 08:06

Thanks again everyone. I keep looking at the stick and thinking wtf????!!! Plus the toddle has just done a 12.5hour stretch and isn't awake yet?????!!! I'm not generally one for astrology, but today I'm kind of thinking that whatever the planets are doing up there, they seem to be aligning themselves really quite favourably from my perspective.

Schedule for the day 1. buy a digital test, 2. buy some vitamins. Last month was a 35 day cycle, which was long even for me, and AF was short, so given I have form for having no clue I reckon I ought to check before swanning off to the doctor pretending to be an adult.

Someone else post news, about anything, I need distraction!

Stormy how was your toddle free night? How's the hangover WinkGrin

dolicapax · 07/06/2014 08:08

Wotta I'm going nowhere. You guys are family now Smile.

yummychocolate · 07/06/2014 08:30

doli nothing can beat your good news. Don't forget to take your folic acid. Please don't leave us for another thread. You are needed here. How are you feeling this morning?

We had a really bad night. From midnight until 4am ds woke and wouldn't settle. He has diarrohea again.grrr.

stormy how was your night without fartypants?

I have yet to experience a toddle free night. In a way i think i don't want to i will only end up worrying and not enjoy myself.

StormyBrid · 07/06/2014 10:00

No hangover at all! Didn't seem worth it, wasting the one full day off on a hangover. Drinking tonight instead. It was a bit weird going to bed, I could just feel that there was no one in the house but me and the cats. Slept like a log, though that may have been the amitriptyline. Remember how we all wake up in the night, like babies, we just roll over and go back to sleep and don't remember it? I always do remember those wake ups, because my crappy pelvic floor means I feel the urge to pee much sooner than I used to. Amitriptyline means no half waking up, so no awareness of bladder, so sleeping right through (and not wetting the bed, which I was slightly worried about). Dunno what to do today though, it's pissing down.

StormyBrid · 07/06/2014 10:20

Oh, and I think it might be quite nice if doli joined a new fred, so long as she doesn't leave us. They're likely mostly first timers, think how handy her wisdom and experience could be.

Plonkysaurus · 07/06/2014 11:25

Nah I reckon more of us will join Doli in second pregnancies at somestage, no need for her to go cheating on usWink

I'm in a day spa covered in essential oils, smelling on frangipani flowers and waiting for my mum and sister to appear from their treatments before we have an early lunch. Eco this is what I meant by pampered! I could live here...in fact I think I may just stay.

Oh dear yummy! Hope he feels better soon.

Doli what's the work situation with dh? When it rains it pours eh? I'm smiling so much thinking of your news.

OP posts:
StormyBrid · 07/06/2014 13:00

I wish I was joining doli already. But! I have a seven month supply of the pill, and then no more, so hopefully this time next year I'll be looking forward to finding out the gender.

I hear it's a bit soggy down your way, Plonk. Fartypants has Bern taken to Meadowhall. Could be fun, as big shops make her scream. FIL has bought her a tablet. She's fifteen months old, ffs!

somethingbeginningwith · 07/06/2014 14:31

Yes stormy, it's bloody horrible here. Thunder and lightning at 8am this morning. In June. Good luck to Fartypants at Meadowhell on a Saturday. I couldn't even hack it.

I'd like to join you doli...in about 3 years Grin in the meantime, I shall live vicariously through you and enjoy hearing every tiny pregnancy detail!

We're all eating tuna sandwiches in front of Thomas the Tank Engine movie before heading out to see 8 month old twinnies. If I get as broody as I think, I'll have to stop myself from joining the second-baby club sooner!

Happy sexy Saturday everyone! Wine but decaf Brew for doli Wink

StormyBrid · 07/06/2014 15:09

I used to love June thunderstorms, way back when I were a nipper and we had proper seasons. A good storm with torrential yet brief downpour made a lovely refreshing break from the blazing sunshine. When the gaps between thunderstorms are filled with damp and drizzle the effect isn't quite the same.

rainbowtoddle · 07/06/2014 17:28

Congratulations doli! So so pleased for your wonderful surprise!

yummychocolate · 07/06/2014 19:51

The sun came out in the afternoon in London. Spent the day relaxing and cleaning. I am a bad mummy for sticking ds in a high chair with not so healthy snack. Period pains are draining me.

Are you feeling refreshed after your pamper day plonky?

something i agree with you, i would rather live my baby excitement through you doli. I am too excited that one of us marchers are preggers again. doliyou would hate me if i lived closer to you i would be those annoying people wanting a feel of the bump.

stormy i am a bit disappointed by todays storm. I love a good storm IF i am safely at home.
