Well done WL.

Spotty is it grey or bleached in the sun? If you get it wet and put lots of conditioner on is it any better? DD is the same but doesn't mind if it's brushed after washing and using lots of conditioner.

Although what the neighbours made of my time saving combination yesterday, when I put warm water in the paddling pool and did bath time there....

DD's school visit was good, but sad that she's in a group with 5 people who are at nursery together. If only she wasn't so shy!

No such problems with A. Apparently he barged past the grown ups this morning because they dared get in the way of his breakfast at nursery.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 16:35

Nope no difference at all. It's def not bleached it's thick and wiry and at the back underneath!

Barbeasty · 19/06/2014 16:49

I had a friend who was grey in his late teens, but 4 sounds young!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 16:57

It's only one so hopefully it's a one off?! She's got loads of colours in her hair but this was quite obvious. My nan went grey at 14 Shock

WLmum · 19/06/2014 19:23

Let's hope it was just a random stray grey!

Had a quick run tonight, accompanied by dd1 on her bike which was good for the stress levels. I am of course now having a crisis of confidence - what if the offer is good and I'm rubbish!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 19:26

You'll be great WL! You obviously are or they wouldn't want to hire you. (That's if you decide to take it) and if not then it's a great boost Smile

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2014 21:51

well done wl nice to be in a position of powerGrin

nits hate tea tree. and argan oil tames the worst excesses of r's curls - i got it in home bargains cheap!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 21:53

Dd has pretty straight hair but it gets so knotty even when plaited (food, dribble, paint Grin). I'm not convinced she did have them, all I could see was glitter Hmm but I thought best to be safe. I hate the pesky beasts.

halestone · 19/06/2014 23:06

Well done WLThanks

Willyou, i hope things are going better at your parents.

Spotty, i have really long thick hair that knots easily my mum use to put it in a plait of a night. It helped but only a tiny bit.

DP was fortunately great about me being ill yesterday and even told me to go to bed whilst he looked after both girls.

H's sleep is once again a nightmare absolute refusal to sleep before 12:30 sometimes 1am we're all knackered.

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2014 23:18

hales you have my sympathy. R still goes down at 5:30 but is waking more at night for nappy changes. He seems to have learned bladder control a bit too well and goes mostly when asleep at the moment! Repeat after me: This Too Shall Pass

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/06/2014 00:45

I went out drinking to watch the football. Bad plan Fandango! What's worse is my mum n dad waited up for me like I'm 15! It was mega nostalgic, pretending not to be drunk!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/06/2014 06:26

GrinGrinGrin WillYou

Hope you've had some sleep hales and pidj. I've bed awake since 4:30 when dd wye the bed Hmm

Barbeasty · 20/06/2014 09:06

Must be something in the air Spotty DD did the same, although closer to 1 am. For ease we put her in the spare room for the rest of the night, but then A got upset when he woke and DD wasn't there. So DH ended up sleeping in their room.

So I'm very tired, and have lots of jelly making, cake icing and sausage cooking to do tonight for DD's party tomorrow.

WillYou hope you got some sleep. And that you don't get "the talk" this morning!!

I use a tip in found on Mumsnet for DD's hair at night- put it back in 3 hairbands. One putting the top section back, one tying the rest back and one half way down the resulting ponytail. I really works. And yes to food in bits of hair it should never reach!

WLmum · 20/06/2014 09:45

We had much to do trying to brush dd2s v long hair from which I had removed a squashed grape!

I had a rubbish nights sleep - T was good, night no boob is going well - she was up at 1.30 but quickly asked to go back to bed when she realised she was only getting a cuddle and no boob, then I did feed her at 5 and she went back til after 6. But I've got a slight cold which always interrupts my sleep and I'm thinking a lot about this job. Although the salary is probably as good as I can expect at re-entry after 6 years out, half time plus travel means it's probably not go

WLmum · 20/06/2014 09:49

Going to be worth it. It doesn't sound like there's much scope to extend the role and hours in the future so I think I'd always my eye out for the next role. Financially I think 4 days is more realistic.

WLmum · 20/06/2014 09:49

But will anyone else ever offer me a job!!

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2014 12:58

WillYou :o

Course they wil, WL you were awesome enough to be offered this one right? Is there any room for negotiation? You have nothing to lose by asking Wink

R has been a nap dodger the last couple of days. Really battling it. So I switched his All In One nappy for a fitted with wool this morning and he went straight off Shock Guess I'm not allowed to be lazy with the nappies then, will put him back in them tonight and see if he sleeps any better - while it's lovely having him sleep till 9:30am (very rarely but nice when it does happen), the 11pm and 5am nappy changes aren't so great, and it really screws up the day routine too

halestone · 20/06/2014 13:01

WL course, you'll get offered another job. You've had one interview so far and been offered the position, You've done amazing.

Beasty, i like that hair tip.

Willyou next time remember to take a pack of chewing gum to disguise your breath haha.

Pidj bless R. Hopefully he'll gain his night time bladder control soon.

ddas · 20/06/2014 16:41

Well done wlmum!!! If you we're good enough for this one your be good enough for the next job that comes along with a better salary. Guess you need to think how it compares to current job & future prospects.

Now weather better spotty & wlmum we should try & set a date for our wisley play date.

Dd finally slept well for a week so we though wohoo finally but we now appear to have been hit by the 18 month sleep regression :( I'm just so tired of always being tired.

PurplePidjin · 20/06/2014 18:00

ddas if it's any help, our 18m sleep regression was a few days long and has lead to better sleep (current blip is down to nappies and potty training I think, rather than an actualv developmental thing). Fingers crossed you're nearly there!

WillYou did you get a scolding? Wink

WLmum · 20/06/2014 19:26

Well they agreed to my salary and hours requests! It seems that I'd be a bit mad to say no. We should be quite a bit better off each month and I still get to do 3 days a week. It's different to what I had in mind but I guess no one knows what the future holds so I think I should probably just go for it. Have said I'll let them know in Monday.
ddas I was at wisley today with dd2&3 it was fab as ever. The arts fest a weekend looks amazing. Def up for a meet.
I totally know what you mean about being tired of being tired, that's why I'm addressing the nights again.
willyou I don't envy you that. Last time I got v drunk my mum was babysitting and it was v cringy.
hales glad you're feeling better and dp helped with dd and dn.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/06/2014 19:44

ThanksThanksWineWine Congratulations WL!! Did you say it's in London? I'm up for a meet up but only have weds and thurs off plus Saturdays dp is usually working.

Barbeasty · 20/06/2014 19:56

WL well done! I think my advice would be that if there isn't much else out there this weekend to apply for, and if it wouldn't definitely be better, then go for it. You can always keep an eye out and set a 6 month target to re - evaluate. And everyone says it's easier to find a job when you already have one. They must really want you!

ddas I think our sleep regression was brief too. And it's far, far worse when they sleep well for a few days and then don't. If sleep is poor but consistent I think you get used to it.

Hales I was amazed the first time we did DD's hair like that.

A was fearlessly going on the big slide at MIL's this afternoon. He was the only one not nervous!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/06/2014 20:22

Nope Pidj but my mum was a bit stroppy with me this morning Grin

Well done WL! That's great news.

We had the 18 month sleep regression; didn't last long. But he now needs a bit less sleep so he goes down at 8 not 7 and needs limiting to an hour ish in the day or he's up all night. I don't think the warm nights help.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/06/2014 20:27

We haven't had a regression, luckily (sorry!). My friend has a seven month old who only has two 20 min naps in the day and then sleeps 2-3 hours total overnight Shock
