FriendofDorothy · 17/06/2014 10:33

This keeps dropping off my list because I hardly every post!

halestone · 17/06/2014 12:37

Beasty, hopefully he'll be completely fine with it.

Spotty, I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

H had a nag nail that was hurting her as she kept crying pointing at it and shouting sore. I tried to remove it and she was screaming so I left it and pulled it out when she was asleep last night, she even cried then. I felt so guilty.

FoD how long have you got left till your due date?

I broke the news by email! He's taking the 3 days off so that he can "cope and not get cross with them".

Bless......

A day working from home tomorrow so I can take DD for her 20 minute school visit.

A's speech has suddenly come on by miles. Lots of new words and a few 2 and 3 word phrases.

He escaped yesterday mid nappy change. I decided to try sitting him on a potty, but it seems to make a better hat. He only sat on it when I put it on the sofa.

FriendofDorothy · 17/06/2014 12:53

I am 31 weeks now. Due 18 of August. Feeling like a heffalump.

Does anyone have problems gettings their LO to sit in a highchair?

The Little Mister has taken to having a strop every breakfast time and I am finding it a bit wearing.

WLmum · 17/06/2014 13:55

Hello fod! Yep, I have up on the highchair months ago. T sometimes sits on her toddler chair, sometimes on my lap and sometimes on the floor! Will address table manners when she's older.
hales poor H, hang nails are so sore. I wouldn't pull it off as I find that can lead to infection so I use nail clippers to cut it off as low as possible. Germolene is great for little sore bits - it's antiseptic and anaesthetic.
I'm on the train home after my 2nd interview. Job sounded more promising this time but I still expect that it won't be worth it financially.

halestone · 17/06/2014 14:47

Fod i'm another who gave up along time ago on the highchair. She hated it she now sits at a childs table and i think shes doing a tiny bit better eating now.

WL, thank you for the germolene tip. To be honest i wasn't really sure if i should pull it out or leave it. At least i know for next time.

Beasty, Well done to A for his speechGrin and also yay to your husband being ok about looking after the DC.

Ds loves his highchair Confused but then again he loves food too Grin breakfast is usually in the sitting room tbh as I'm the only morning person in our house!

Just on the train back the baggage took over an hour Angry ds was sick again on the way home but then ate loads and was fine.

Hales poor h! It was best you got it off though

WLmum · 17/06/2014 19:33

Perhaps it was the motion spotty
T is such an outrageous flirt - we have the plumber here - she took her trousers and nappy off (already topless) and ran around starkers batting her eyes at him!

halestone · 18/06/2014 06:13

Eurgh i've been up all night vomitingSad Its DPs Birthday today so can't even have a nap. He and H are still in bed, when they get up i'll be taking us and DN out for the day.

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2014 06:34

No hales you need to go back to bed!

halestone · 18/06/2014 06:51

Wish i could spotty. I am lay on the couch with DN who is luckily happily relaxing watching frozen, whilst i await the other 2 awakening from their slumber.

OP posts:
WLmum · 18/06/2014 07:39

Oh no hales. If necessary you'll just have to postpone his birthday treat - then he can take the girls to the park while you vomit in peace rest.
Hope its nice to be back in your own bed spotty
Night 1 of no more boob was not a resounding success. T was absolutely distraught when I tried to get her to lay back down, so after 10-15 mins I calmed her with cuddles and singing. I got her back down but she was up again every 10 mins. After an hour or so I caved and fed her. She did sleep then til 5.30. Take 2 tonight.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/06/2014 08:10

No Hales, spotty and WL are right. Vomiting bug trumps birthday. He's a grown up and should understand if you say that you need to delay his birthday by a day or so. He needs to take the girls out while you sleep it off.

Oh no WL, well today is a new day, hopefully better than the last. Hope you hear from the job soon.

Glad you had a lovely time Spotty, how long to the wedding?

I've settled in at my mum n dad's although surprisingly it's my dad who's an interfering so and so. He keeps popping into J's room at bedtime as his clothes are in there. Then he wonders why J won't go to bloody sleep Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2014 10:07

WL hopefully it'll get easier!

WillYou it sounds very difficult for you all hopefully it won't be for too long. Weddings in November Smile

PurplePidjin · 18/06/2014 12:27
Brew
MrsNutella · 18/06/2014 13:44

WL could you swap nighttime boob for water or something? I found when I stopped feeding ds that it was the night feeds I missed. He was not interested in feeding during daytime hours because he was so busy; but night feeds were usually snugly and lovely.... Fx it all goes well for all of you.

hales I hope you've managed to get some rest. I'm sure DP would not insist or expect birthday treats when you're sick. You need to get better first.

fod I'm err 33 weeks I think... No I must be 34... Anyway, I'm really struggling with sleep. How are you feeling? Other than enormous - I'm sure my bump is more sticky out this time. And the baby is some kind of aerobics obsessive!
Ds fights the high chair mostly at breakfast but once he is eating he is fine. He likes to join us at the table but snacks and lunch I sometimes do with him at a smaller table where he can sit on his little chair.

MrsNutella · 18/06/2014 13:45

willyou I like the flag on your name! how did you do that... Has it always been there and am I just being a bit dim?

MrsNutella · 18/06/2014 15:24

I would just like to thank apple for my iPhone and You tube for making Pingu readily available.
Lastly well done DS on a truly GIANT poo

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/06/2014 16:34

Nutella it's for the World Cup. You have a difficult decision to make between England and Germany! Go to my mumsnet, my account (or maybe my profile) and select from the drop down box.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/06/2014 18:44

One night when we were away ds woke and was pointing at the single bed next to the cot. He nodded when I asked if he wanted to sleep in it so I put him in and he slept the rest of the night (with me balanced on the edge!). Tonight, whilst I was getting a book, he got into dd's bed and snuggled onto the pillow then cried and had a bit of a strop when I put him into his cot. He clearly wants to go into bed but I think the longer in a cot the better!

WLmum · 18/06/2014 22:39

nutella I think she'd be furious! She's very boobtastic, all the time. I know it will be fine in a week ish as she gets used to the idea, it's just a hard few nights to start with. She's quite clingy to me at the moment. I know she's got more teeth coming but I could be saying that for another 6 months and if don't get a decent sleep soon I might not survive another 6 months!
I've been thinking a lot about the job and better answers I could have given. I know part of that was because I was too tired to prep properly. Also too tired to run tonight - lack of sleep and running is not good for the stress levels.
spotty it does seem early to be moving to a bed but if he's insistent you might have to consider it!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 06:50

WL I'm hoping once he's in a bed dd will stop coming in with us and just get in with him GrinGrin

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 13:57

Dd has a grey hair!! Also I think she has headlice. I thought I saw one walking on her hair earlier can't see anything now but think I will treat just in case. More money Hmm

WLmum · 19/06/2014 15:38

spotty apparently you can just comb through with lots of ordinary conditioner and as you comb out come the eggs and lice, and if you leave it on for a while the lice can't breathe and die.
Looks like I'm getting a job offer! Stone me! Have said it depends on the package. Eek!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2014 15:58

Exciting WL! I know about the combing but if you saw/heard dd when we try brushing her hair with her tangle teaser you'd know why we want to avoid daily combing! She gets hysterical her hair is so thick Sad
