Shockwhat are you saying Nutella?! Of course I go in the cupboard with the iron and Hoover in regularly Wink

Maryland2013 · 02/06/2014 13:14

Yes Nutella there is a sleep fairy! Someone posted this

sleepfairyparentrescue.co.uk/blog/2014/02/23/fixing-early-rising-in-1-3-year-olds/

And I found it very useful! I have considered contacting her for other bedtime related issues!

halestone · 02/06/2014 15:35

Spotty at least he remembered to buy you one. My DP will only buy if he has precise instructions.

Willyou i hope you get some rest today i always find the day after a particularily hard night the worst.

Nutella maybe DS can smell breast milk on you again and thats why he is settling for DH better.

Utopian, how was the big move?

I have started buying things for mine DP's and H's new home. I am so so excited Grin

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 02/06/2014 19:32

Hales he chose it all by himself with no hints Smile

Maryland2013 · 02/06/2014 19:50

Spotty if I don't give DH ideas I just get shit presents. Or they all come from Tesco. He can't be trusted ;)

Hales when do you move? Have you got lots to buy?

halestone · 02/06/2014 20:49

we have to buy nearly everything apart from the cooker and fridge freezer they're in built. And we have H's chest of drawers and cot bed and our bed and DP's tv. Other than that we need everythingConfused

We havn't got a date yet but i think its going to end up in the next 2 weeks. This is a sad fact i know but its going to be the 1st time ever i've lived without my parents.

MrsNutella · 02/06/2014 21:03

Hales I'm so excited for you! Sadly you'll be spending the next forever buying "bits" for your new house (DH and I thought we had loads of stuff and we still need some bits like curtains etc) and probably an incredible amount of hours in Ikea (or similar) and building the bloomin furniture... But you'll have a wonderful home eventually. Smile

spotty if you're offended that I would suggest such a scandalous thing then noooooo of course I didn't mean to imply that at all Smile

maryland thank you! I'm pretty sure the morning nap needs to be shorter... I'm going to fiddle with it the next few days and see how we he goes.

I just had a magnum Marc de champagne ice cream. Delicious! (And it was silver so it looked really cool too) Grin
Now I think it's bed time. DH and I seem to be really tired at the mo.

Maryland2013 · 02/06/2014 21:12

Nutella when I read the article I just thought 'durr' because it seemed so obvious- less daytime sleep = DS will actually be tired at night. How did I not realise this? I think because I also enjoyed a 2 hour daily nap when not at work

Hales Nutella is right you will be in ikea all the time and arguing all the way round like most people
We've got lots of storage things from there they're great.
I can put together a malm set of drawers in about 20mins. Electric screwdriver/ drill things are ace. I'm so middle aged.

There will be sales soon. I got all the Next stuff I wanted for our spare room for half price in the sale last year- bedding, curtains, throw, photo frames plus a million cushions that DH despises
Debenhams have a good sale too we got our dining room table 70% off.

You could ask your family for vouchers if they want to get you house warming pressies :)
How exciting moving out for the first time- you will love it!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/06/2014 21:18

Ikea furniture is my favourite thing to do when heavily pregnant. It's how I nested Grin dp always got cross with me!

It's a really lovely watch dp has got me I can't wait to open it and act all surprised!

halestone · 02/06/2014 23:32

I've seen the wardrobes and chest of drawers on the ikea website already Grin Spotty I also made H's chest of drawers amd cotbed at 39 weeks pregnant haha.

Maryland I have just been on the next and debenhams websites, Thank you Thanks

oh I completely forgot to ask then. Do any of your babies sweat to the point their bedding is soaking whilst they sleep?

OP posts:
WillYouDoTheFandango · 02/06/2014 23:52

No Hales but my friend's baby does. She stuck a picture on Facebook today with him drenched in sweat. Consensus was that some babies are just sweaty. But if it's only started recently maybe it's a viral infection?

halestone · 03/06/2014 04:18

Its been happening quite a while now Willyou and i kept forgetting to ask.

I have just had to give H her inhaler in her sleep. She was breating very fast and very loud and was moving all ovee the bed as though she was struggling to get comfy. Shes still loud but finally still and not as fast.

OP posts:
WLmum · 03/06/2014 07:57

hales I used to babysit for a little boy that would be soaked every night. It's was normal for him (and his dad was a dr).
Happy birthday spotty!
We're off to butlins for the day - if you can go in term time (mine have an inset day) it's a mega bargain - £31 for the 5 of us and includes the swimming complex, softplay, rides, shows. I'm told its great so here goes!

MrsNutella · 03/06/2014 08:30

I've heard some babies do sweat hales. But I don't know any. Sorry.

Don't forget when you go to IKEA however much you want to spend and how ever long you think it will take, double it! And don't forget how big/long your car is Smile

spotty happy birthday! Hope you have a lovely day.

DS has for some reason been set to "Whinge, LOUD" today. He is driving me nuts! He keeps asking for "yummy yummy" and signing food; but most things I offer are smacked out of my hand and he shakes his head. Of course he now wants the burning hot porridge fingers I've made and he does not understand why he cannot have them now Confused

AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!

Barbeasty · 03/06/2014 12:08

Arggh. My brother is being a pain today. He sent a text late yesterday asking if I still have tomorrow off work, which I didn't get because the signal at home is rubbish. Then another 4 and 2 missed calls, getting ruder and ruder because I hadn't answered while I was in a meeting.
He wants to arrange to do something with dad because the wedding would have been tomorrow. We have the info session with D's school and have managed to arrange to see the preschool that we probably have to move Anthony to. Aside from the fact that I'm not sure dad would want to go for a day of forced pleasantries when he's actually busy sorting out the aftermath of his fiancé's death.
Then my brother started saying he hoped we weren't sending DD to a Catholic school, which we are, so I told him it's none of his business. And now he's sent through more texts telling me I'm selfish for being busy. Apparently telling him to f off wasn't nice.

DH already dislikes him, so I can't rant to him, so I'm afraid the rant is here!!

On nicer news A has learnt how to raid the fridge. We have 2 under the counter fridges, which he can open. And yesterday he helped himself to a yoghurt, separated the pots and took the lid off. He can't reach the cutlery draw, so he got a spoon from DD's tea set and fed himself!!
He can also open the clip - top air tight containers- I found him eating cheerios.

Hales enjoy moving in. And there will be so many things you didn't realise were essential!

A doesn't really sweat, but when I took his temperature the other morning it was 34.4!!

MrsNutella · 03/06/2014 12:30

beasty that all sounds unnecessarily painful with your brother. My middle brother can be like that. Fortunately he has a fantastic girlfriend at the moment who seems to be able to bring out the nice person inside instead of the raving "mememememe" child that he can lean towards.
You have my sympathies!

I'm so glad we don't have short / undercounter fridges DS would be in them allllll the time.

We went to town and he was strapped into his buggy the whole time. He actually behaved rather well and ate lots of snacks. He got a bit bored on the way home but then he promptly fell asleep, which was nice.
So we're home now. I'm relaxing and he is sleeping. And I've had lunch in peace. Ahhhhhhhh

PurplePidjin · 03/06/2014 13:01

beasty, I think Eff Off was quite restrained under the circumstances!

R slept 5:30-6:30. Then I pretended it was the middle of the night and changed him, thinking I might get another hour with the monitor off while he played. We got up at half past nine Shock

Barbeasty · 03/06/2014 13:22

Nice Pidj

Normally I'd let my brother carry on and at some point tell Dad that he needs to have a word with him. Obviously I'd rather not do that this time, so I seem to have nipped it in the bud. I don't think ensuring DD gets settled into school is particularly selfish! Heaven help us all when Dad dies- I suspect there might be a few fallings out. Can you tell he's the one of the 3 of us who doesn't have children....

We should know better with the fridges- around the same age DD wandered in biting chunks off a huge lump of salami. Saves me making the effort though.....

SpottyTeacakes · 03/06/2014 14:35

It's not my birthday for a while but thanks anyway Grin

Maryland2013 · 03/06/2014 16:53

Beasty your children are so funny. I love that A is so clever with the yoghurts! If the fridge is open DS goes straight for them too. Or the milk. Which he struggles to hold but still insists on hauling in and out of the fridge!

He's also taken up emptying the cat food drawer and taking the food into the utility room where the cat plates are- it's very cute actually- the stuff they pick up without you explicitly teaching them!!

I would have told your brother to F off too. What's the problem with the catholic school?!

Pidj I am so jealous of your lie in!

Barbeasty · 03/06/2014 17:36

My family are all staunch atheists, my DH is Catholic. But the rest of them can be polite! I meant it when I said that was none of his business, and after having to persuade my boss not to put my leaving date back I was ready to tell DB where to go.

It's just all stress none of us needs.

halestone · 03/06/2014 19:38

Beasty, i hope he apologises for the stress he caused.

Pidj i am delibrately ignoring your well sleeping R i am so Envy haha

I have just made some chocolate crispy cakes because i wanted to lick the bowl

OP posts:
WLmum · 03/06/2014 20:57

Wow pidj that is unreal! T doesn't sleep that much in 24 hours! She's late to bed tonight as she had a late sleep in the car and I had a meeting about dd1 moving up to junior school from 7-8. I feel quite overwhelmed and emotional. It all sounds great though. beasty making sure dd is settled in her new school is hugely important. Db is bu. it's nice that he's thinking of your dad but he has to understand that you have other commitments. Can't just he do something nice with your dad? As for your school choice, it is indeed none of his business. Clever little A! I noticed in the pool today that T is looking really quite lean - not eating will do that I guess.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/06/2014 21:02

Don't worry WL ds' new clothes are aged 6-9 months and he eats loads Hmm

Just watched the documentary on itv about quads Shock I couldn't do it!
