After looking after a retired consultant recently, I would argue that drs make pretty dreadful patients too VQ. The impatient sort of patient! Barking orders for how to manage their ailments I will totally do this too when I'm old and hospitalised

ValiumQueen · 21/03/2014 21:20

BP I do hope your friend has a miracle Thanks

AF is Aunt Flo you would think a doctor would know this!

ValiumQueen · 21/03/2014 21:21

My Great Aunt was a Matron. She was a nightmare to look after! She gave me her buckle when I graduated, and it is very precious.

ValiumQueen · 21/03/2014 21:23

J was a nightmare to settle tonight. I think we gave his piriton a bit early as he came over like a drunkard and couldn't walk straight. I think it unsettled him and he gulped his bottle down, resulting in wind and hiccups.

Donnadoon · 21/03/2014 21:25

Hi y'all
VQ get it logged...DH had accident 12 months ago and didn't go docs ...he still suffers with back pain now
Kyz love your epic posting
Stunt Flowers for your gran
Glad to here of some fixed babies :)
Glad chasing is chirpier
Gosh this is hard remembering everyone's news, how does kyz do it?
alls good here, hard work though, my 7 week old is a Velcro baby, screams blue murder if she is not at boob or in my arms, I have a sling
Darcey is such a placid little thing and always has been, such a contrast, I have to snatch every spare second that I have to spend time cuddling and fussing her so that she doesn't feel left out
We read lots of books whilst I'm feeding etc, it's a juggling act for sure.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/03/2014 21:30

bp that is totally awful i too hope for a miracle. Thanks

O has been a terror this afternoon, some kind of damage to the tv aerial, standing on the pouffe, pulling DS1s hair, and at bathtime when i told him off for filling a cup of water and emptying it onto the floor of the bathroom he stood up in the bath dipped his hands in The water and then kept shaking them out of the bath onto the floor. [grr emoticon] hence my frazzeledness at wine o'clock and clinking in The wrong damn place.

I am now chilled and have the whole day to self tomorrow at a womens conference.

BigPigLittlePig · 21/03/2014 21:53

Donna I am as ever amazed by the super mum powers of mums of more than 1, at the fact that you cope. I'm certain I would be a total mess! Sling is definitely your friend though, saved my bacon!

Thanks for clarifying AF VQ, wasn't one od the abbreviations they taught us on. LOL (little old lady) and NFB (normal for ) spring more readily to mind Grin

I appear to have jinxed piggies sleep. Teeth, cold, something is bothering her tonight, so am cuddled up on her floor for a piggy sleepover, complete with snory piggy sounds.

ValiumQueen · 21/03/2014 22:09

So BP what do you sleep on when you are in with piglet? I do worry about you.

My 'injury' is logged. I will know in the next 48 hours if it is proper hurt and I will get if looked at if needs be I promise.

Elizadoesdolittle · 21/03/2014 22:15

bp So sorry to hear of your friend. I will have everything crossed for a miracle.

chasing So pleased work went well and future dates sounds fun.

stunt I don't think I've ever had goose. I'm finding that quite unbelievable as I have eaten most things within reason, not guniea pig Grin and my mum has cooked it. Enjoy.

I too hate grandpa in my pocket not as much as I hate Granny Murray though Grin

Tomorrow we have a 4th birthday party in the morning, then I will help DH build the trampoline. Sunday DH is golfing and I have a friend over. DH is playing golf with her DH so I will do an late lunch/early dinner when they're back. Hoping for nice weather but not looking great.

I had to collect DD1 early from nursery today. She hasn't been herself for a couple of days. Think she was trying it on a bit though as she still wanted to go to dance class I refused to take her and she ran around like her usual nutty self at the inlaws. E has been the same as she was yesterday. Fine in the morning, bit clingy but nothing unusual there. But once she wakes from her afternoon nap she becomes grizzly and cries if I put her down. I'm sure she has a tummy pain but not really sure what I can do for her. Hmmm.

BigPigLittlePig · 21/03/2014 22:40

Spare toddler bed mattress VQ. It's surprisingly comfy. Although not v roomy.

Night all xx

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/03/2014 22:49

Night night chums. Xx

StuntNun · 21/03/2014 23:06

Eliza goose is quite like duck but you have to pour off the fat as you roast it or the pan can overflow. Done well it has lovely crispy skin that everyone will fight over. The leftover goose fat makes the best roast potatoes.

Lovely chums

Super fast check in

bp I am so very sorry to hear about your friend. I have all of me crossed for her

That guy sounds like a tosser vq. You have heard it re neck already . . . Glad the little man seems better too.

stunt what a wonderful legacy! I hope you are ok and that j continues his sleeping and wellness and you can spend some moments remembering your gran .

Your roses were beautiful sophia. What a gorgeous remembrance

P seems very much better today. Clingy, which Isn't like her, but full of fun and giggles. Still a slight temp at tea time but gone by bed time. Phew

Feels like it has been a very big day for many. Wishing all of us warm beds, happy dreams and sunny mornings

PetiteRaleuse · 22/03/2014 06:58

Morning quiche.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/03/2014 07:17

Morning you two. I was here at 05:20 but my battery crashed along with my post.

Have got loads done and ready for a proper day off. Not one of those pretend days off where you spend the day laundering, mopping and cleaning those hard to reach when you have a toddler places. No an actual day for me at a women's conference. Lined up In the fridge I have morning snack, lunch and tea, lined up on the counter I have afternoon snack and any appropriate accessories. The sink is shiney, or as shiney as a black composite sink gets and the playroom has been warmed by an early morning fire.

My only small problem is a nappy crisis. I ordered 100 some in my internet shop and when I went back in to do an amendment it said they were no longer available. I thought I had clicked the replace button. Clearly not. I must have clicked remove. Shock I was at the end of my nappies. But this obviously didn't transpire till 4 pm when the shop arrived. I thought ok, when DH get home I will run to the one nappy selling shop in the village. They only had size 3. Luckily I scoured all my handbags and came up with enough for last night and a cleAn one this morning.

BigPigLittlePig · 22/03/2014 07:31

I am off to hospital to see poorly friend, then on to my parents for the rest of the day.

DSD has new school shoes. inside the shoe, they have a little cavity with a freaking doll inside, wtaf?! It is a matter of time before the dog/cat/toddler eat/hide them.

ValiumQueen · 22/03/2014 08:09

Yes, dolls in shoes. Biggest con out, and makes the shoe prone to collapsing as it has a bloody great void in it.

My neck and back are fine today. I promise to go if I have the slightest hint of a problem. Antibiotics are proving effective, and I slept fairly well as J only woke twice.

DH bought some paint for DD2 room a couple of weeks ago. I told him it was too dark. He is now painting and is worried that it is too dark. I love it though. Proper bubble gum pink Grin I am getting most things for DD2 in a gender neutral colour so it can be passed to J, so it is nice to have some pink again. I lived in a pink world for such a long time.

J is back to his usual self, throwing himself off sofas and chewing on daddy's insoles Grin

Donnadoon · 22/03/2014 08:42

Ooh glad to hear someone else is still chewing in-edible stuff, dd chews wet wipes, pens, rubbers etc what the older ones leave out and I give her the teethers which get thrown on the floor Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 22/03/2014 09:17

Morning.

Currently trying to ignore p climbing in and out of her pushchair. The girl is like a parkour super star.

And donna she will stick anything in her mouth given half a chance

Pikz · 22/03/2014 09:26

We have one of them pass. It's like he's decided that this shall be his specialism. Every 10 seconds I hear get down and turn round and he's triumphantly standing on something high up!

ValiumQueen · 22/03/2014 09:48

I am wondering if I should just let J climb, and fall if necessary. I have never had a climber before.

YellowWellies · 22/03/2014 10:22

Morning chums!

BP good luck to your pal (and you) - even as a doc that visit will be so hard xxxxx

We've a climber here. He got onto the worktop again yesterday and shouted for me so I could come in and see him applaud himself and his latest summit.

Another good night here now we've had over a week since my last dairy.

I'm now getting vair excited and DH is starting to panic over weaning and flying solo for a few days. Its the bedtime routine which will really change as we have been knocking him out with BM since day one. We're going to do a dummy run on Tuesday and then on Wednesday night woohoo I'm off to my sister's for a domino's pizza, cheese course, Easter egg and family size tray of tiramisu at teatime and will sleep over and then go shopping in Edinburgh the next day.

We're thinking bath as normal, into sleeping bag, then a story, some warm koko milk in a cup and cuddles with Daddy with his fave blanket, in the rocking chair as normal. DH reckons he's going to wear my fluffy dressing gown as Jonas always gets it off the hook for me to wear when I feed him down. It's v soft and he strokes it as he nods off. DH can settle him at night now and with a tommee tippee of water for night wakings I'm sure they'll be fine. DH reckons it's going to be hell. After doing every night feed for 17 months (he helps with settling) and coping with him regularly travelling for work I reckon he can handle a few solo days and nights. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

YellowWellies · 22/03/2014 10:27

Any weaning tips? I meant to ask - indeed it was the whole point of my last post......

Passmethecrisps · 22/03/2014 10:35

Sorry - no tips vq. All very exciting though!

That is my approach vq. P has fallen a few times but never very badly and generally I find she rarely makes the same mistake twice. I have some no nos - not on the table or out of the high chair. DH actually found her in our bedroom the other day dancing for the cat. He hadn't realised she was up the stairs
