We have quite a range of ages and they each develop at their own rates... so what can your toddler do?

I'm going to a restaurant today. We got invited by a couple with a similar aged child. First for O in Hungary.

PurplePidjin · 06/03/2014 11:40

Overtired upset baby is absolutely howling. He's actually calmer if I'm not there but still upset Sad I feel like shit, from a bad (not as bad as many but nappy changes at 1 and 6) night, no rest after donating, no one came to music class and now he's shouting at me. I've given water, calpol and another clean nappy - he always gets a clean one for naps - and I can't face putting him in the sling or buggy or even a drive Sad

Shit Mum award goes to Pidj today Sad

Lily311 · 06/03/2014 12:13

You are not a shit mum. O has been whining for over an hour now, she can whine another 30 min before I take her out of cot.

PurplePidjin · 06/03/2014 12:40

Thanks lily Thanks he conked out at 11:50 after I'd opened his window a smudge so it might have just been a bit stuffy in there. He's still asleep thankfully. If he's whining it doesn't bother me so much, but he was properly upset which is unusual for R he's normally a cheerful little dude.

Passmethecrisps · 06/03/2014 13:29

I am mummay.

DH is daaaadddddeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Aging pussy is meow

applepieinthesky · 06/03/2014 13:38

(((pidj))) you are not a shit mum

C calls me mumum and DP is dada or sometimes baba (dad in Farsi). We try to stick to the one parent one language rule. Occasionally DP speaks to him in English without thinking or to make it easier for me which I discourage.

FIL's op was a success and he is home already but in a lot of pain.

GTbaby · 06/03/2014 14:34

We were going to do one parent one language. But fh is crap at talking to him in punjabi even tho he speaks it better them me. So I'm trying to speak it as much as poss. However I guess we are luck (Shock)with pil as they only speak to him In punjabi.

H calls me mum at the moment. However I like the idea of him calling me mother. Might start pushing that. Lol

Hmmm what to do what to do. Vq was it you who was collecting various sized shoes? How did you work out sizing.

2MORE DAYS. Spent yesterday shopping. Today they are out. And Saturday we are busy with a family celebration. So not long as all.

Right sleeping baby in my lap needs to be moved as my arm hurts n I have washing in the line. Ciao.

I have made a resolution for Lent. Starting tomorrow I'm going to do the level one shred workout 5 days a week. Tomorrow because I wanted to watch it first and finish my maltesers.

I need to tone and strengthen up and keep the weight I lost off. I'd also like to reduce my boobs without going down the surgery route.

Am I mad? I'm not completely unfit. I just watched the workout and it looks vaguely doable. I used to do aerobics and yoga so don't think I'll injure myself. That plus my usual dogwalks and more regular meals should be enough to get me back into shape right? I've lost most of the weight I want to but I don't feel happy with my shape and really need to strengthen my abs and back. This'll do it, right? Anyone got any experience?

StuntNun · 06/03/2014 15:29

I started the shred last Monday PR and it wasn't too bad. The middle aerobic section of level 1 is the worst part, once you get past that it's okay. I did level 1 for six days then I was ready for level 2 which is TOUGH! IMO the best thing about the 30 day shred is that you can follow Anita on the exercises you find difficult and still get the benefit of the workout.
Some of the level 2 exercises are solid if you were trying to follow Natalie but Anita's versions are doable. Also Natalie and Anita are obviously superfit (in both senses of the word) and you can see how hard Natalie is working on level 2 so it must be really good for us normal folk. If anyone else wants to give the shred a try both level 1 and level 2 are on YouTube.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/03/2014 15:33

I'm not even going to think about level two until I find level one comfortable. I think that'll take a few months weeks. I'm going to do it from youtube. I don't have weights so will have to substitute with shampoo bottles or something. I'll be following Anita definitely to start with.

fruitpastilles · 06/03/2014 16:07

I tried the 30 day shred and it I thought it was haaaaarrrrddd! However I am 3 stone overweight and very very unfit. I have given it to my cousin now who is trying to lose weight for her wedding and she doesn't think it's as bad as I made out.

ChasingDaisy · 06/03/2014 16:52

I have all of Davina's exercise DVDs - I think they're great. Might try and fit them in in the evening again actually. I just want to tone up again.

ChasingDaisy · 06/03/2014 17:00

And put on weight. Might try protein drinks.

StuntNun · 06/03/2014 17:25

I didn't think the shred was all that bad because it's three minutes of strength exercises which can be difficult but don't get you out of breath, then two minutes of cardio which is pretty intense but it's only two minutes at a time. If you get really out of breath then just pause the DVD for a few seconds. The one minute of abs is probably the most difficult bit but also the most beneficial for me as it's my tummy that needs toning so I really go for that bit. I found that after level 1 I wasn't particularly sweaty although I did feel it the next day, but I didn't feel that I was working hard enough. Level 2 is not like that, halfway through I was lying on the floor calling Gillian a bitch! But I actually can't wait to do it again tonight because even after a week I can see a slight improvement in my lower abdomen and I've gone down a notch on my belt. Afaik there's a diet to go along with the shred but I haven't looked into it.

FatimaLovesBread · 06/03/2014 18:32

Oooh I'd just been thinking about asking about exercise a. I've got the shred and thought about starting that again.

M calls me mummmeeee and DH daddeeee.
My mum and dad manma and dandad. My sister Rachie, and my niece detty or betbet (Bethany) and is v good at saying my bro-in-law and nephews names.
She's can also say her grandmas two dogs names, the childminders dog's name and the childminder's son's name. She's quite good with names really.

Just got back from the doctors and I've been referred for my painful coccyx. She also had a look at my bits to reassure me about my tear and baggy fanny Grin

Off to pick the new car up tomorrow. Does anyone bother with extended warranties? Are they worth it?

Lily311 · 06/03/2014 18:42

I think level 2 is better than 1. I liked it more. I got my treadmill back and have been running. I'm crap and need to build it up again.

YellowWellies · 06/03/2014 18:43

I'll not be doing the Shred for a wee while! Grin Though I've actually lost four pounds so far this pregnancy as I'm just meh about food. By this time with J I was an eating machine who'd put on half a stone! So different. Muuuuuuuch easier second time round (so far)

Passmethecrisps · 06/03/2014 19:13

I just need to atop availing myself of the school canteen. The other day I bought a roll, a tub of egg mayonnaise and a cake and was cheerfully presented with another cake as my reward for spending over £2! As it was I already had soup and fruit in my office so it was all completely unnecessary!

PetiteRaleuse · 06/03/2014 20:12

They give free cakes if you spend over £2? Please tell me that's just for teachers!

I got LO's first piece of tat artwork back from nursery this week, not sure if I mentioned it. She just started the middle group in January and only in the last week or so they have started sitting her up at the desks for crafts - she's been observing and generally dossing about up until now (which is fine!). Anyway she has started showing an interest in sitting with her peers so is joining them for the structured sit down activities now as well as the free play and structured physical activities. And so I have her very first masterpiece to coo over. It will go in her memory box.

BigPigLittlePig · 06/03/2014 20:16

Pidj Thanks

Ever closer GT!

Can't remember anything else, sorry Blush

F slept 12hrs last night then did 3.5hrs at nursery Shock She has NEVER done that before!

Passmethecrisps · 06/03/2014 21:15

Unlikely. The thing is though that my collegue didn't get a cake even though he spent £3:50!! Blatant favouritism Grin

ValiumQueen · 06/03/2014 21:27

PR we too have a first masterpiece. Handprints and footprints smears It is up in the kitchen, framed even Grin

Applied for another job tonight. Feels good Smile
