Happy Birthday for yesterday Beasty Wine cake] Flowers

Utopian how are you and O?

Stacks i use to check by looking in her mouth when she yawned, however now its too far back to do that so i check when shes asleep with my finger. I am loving the tinfoil idea btw.

Pidj and Willyou for the last 3 weeks H has been either refusing sleep till 2am or going to sleep at 10:30ish waking at 11:30ish and refusing to go back to sleep till 2am.

Willyou, i am glad your DP is being reasonable regarding access.

Nutella, i am glad your house move went well.

Me and DP are going to view a few houses this week, i am excited.

Barbeasty · 13/04/2014 16:44

Thanks all. It's actually my birthday today, it's just that with swimming and things there wasn't time to do anything for me today!

DH's colleagues are disappointed. I was pleased with his present of a washin with sections for whites and darks. They were calling it the world's biggest gift voucher and told him to keep the receipt.

Exciting Hales. I hope you find something you like.

I can normally feel A's teeth with the toothbrush.

It was famous last words saying A was in a pattern of waking once a night- last night was 5 times. I hope it's teeth!

Dp's in a strop because I asked him to clean ds up after his dinner. Apparently I never let him get that dirty when I have to clean him up (six days a week). I said he wouldn't know as he's never fucking here Blush

utopian99 · 13/04/2014 18:02

Cheeky of your dp spotty!

Thanks for the enquiries about O - he's a lot better today but after 3 dreadful nights we are both destroyed. No idea how we're going to cope with the new small. I feltawful yesterday for shouting at him when he'd been pinching my boob/nipple for an hour, but I just couldn't take it and it took almost 4 hours to get him back to sleep.

I love him so much but then after that I worry dh will think I'm.an abusive parent.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/04/2014 18:23

For shouting utopian? We all shout sometimes even my super duper attachment parenting fanatic sister.

Barbeasty · 13/04/2014 19:17

Utopian just remember that the time between now and when the new one comes along makes a massive difference to how J will be. And although you won't have slept, you won't have that awful pregnancy tiredness- there really is my anything like that especially with a toddler!

I look back now and think how could I have thought it was hard with one, but you just get on with it to be honest. Chocolate and the TV are your friends....

Both in bed now. Time to relax and let my birthday begin!

And hope you've had a lovely proper first full day in the new house Nutella, and sorry to anyone else I've missed!

Hope you're enjoying the new place Nutella :)

Happy birthday to Beasty :)

Utopian I met my friend today with her 3 mth old and 18 mth old and she's doing absolutely fine. And she had washed her hair and put make up on whereas I looked like I had been dug up thanks to DS waking at 4:30am!!!

My DP in a strop because the golf is on and DS won't go to sleep. Because he's doing it deliberately, honest!! Why do they get so emotional about sport?! Sigh.

Barbeasty · 13/04/2014 20:23

A is still reading and talking to himself. Loudly.

I'm lucky that DH is only interested in F1, and has given up on that due to being busy with the children.

PurplePidjin · 13/04/2014 20:49

Utopian and other pg bunnies, just look at how different R still is from the youngest December babies. Those 6 weeks are a huge percentage of their little lives. R walks everywhere and is starting to talk reliably and tantrum when he can't communicate He will happily walk over a mile just holding my hand for reassurance now, whereas 6 weeks ago he'd get about 100 yards! By the Autumn when iirc you're due they'll be whole new little independent toddlers with even more amazing skills than they have now Thanks

Hour and a half of screaming cot refusal now dealt with. I have much-needed Wine

Maryland2013 · 13/04/2014 21:03

Wow Pidj R's walking is really impressive!!

It's true though- DS was very late to walking but within a month he went from 1/2 steps to stomping all over the house :)
I love how much they pick up so quickly :)

PurplePidjin · 13/04/2014 21:34

I think because I don't bother with the buggy much ever he either gets carried in the sling or walks. It's much easier to give him the choice as I always have both hands free to help him, and conversely can just cuddle him when he's tired albeit tied in fabric on my back! Wrangling a toddler with one hand while pushing a pram with the other then attempting to carry shopping just looks hard to me Hmm

PurplePidjin · 13/04/2014 21:36

Although it does explain why I see so many 3 and 4 year olds in buggies at the park. I do try to think they might have SEN of some kind, but it's hard when they're clearly socialising well with the other children and enjoying all that the climbing frame has to offer then get strapped in for the walk back to the car HmmSad

ISpyPlumPie · 13/04/2014 21:54

Belated happy birthday Beasty

Enjoy the new house Nutella

Got a feeling we might be getting back molars too Pidge - lots of hand chewing, dribble and clinging, and there the only ones he's got left to come through. DS1 got his round about now too. Not much fun but as others have said at least it's all over then.

Think there might be a bit of developmental stuff going on too. We're getting a few more words (not as many as DS1 had at this point but keep telling self do not compare & do not panic!). He's becoming fascinated with animals - next door's cat, pet rabbit at nursery etc. He excitedly pulls you towards them pointing, watches for ages then says "bye bye" with a little wave Grin. He also adores being outside - will go and get his wellies and my shoes the dumps them at my feet in a non - too - subtle hint to go out. Just love seeing his little personality develop.

coffeeandcream · 14/04/2014 18:04

I can't believe how many teeth all the -not so- little ones have. My DS has his front four top ones and the two at the front on the bottom. It doesn't hold him back mind. Can chomp his way through most foods!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/04/2014 19:11

Coffee ds is the same!

Equimum · 14/04/2014 19:38

DS is another one without too many teeth - just the fronts so far.

My best friend had 17 months between he DDs and hasn't found it anywhere near as hard as she expected. She swore by having a sling for the baby and taking toddler to play group every morning, so she didn't have to entertain her all day.

Pidge what do you carry all your stuff in when you carry DS? I carry DS as much as possible, but when I go out for most if the day and need change stuff, lunch, sweater etc, I really struggle to carry it as I find the cabbage bag makes me really uncomfy. For shorter trips, I use a smallish cross-body bag. Was easier when I front carried more and could take backpack.

PurplePidjin · 14/04/2014 20:38

I have a fairly large cross-body bag (cheap wipe clean one from a local shop) that fits 4 (cloth) nappies, a sandwich bag of wet flannels wipes and a small wet bag. I put snacks in a small tub and his water gets shoved in too. TBH he only needs changing 1st thing, before nap and mid afternoon these days so I rarely take more than 3 nappies anywhere, more like 2. I buy lunch out (he loves tuna jacket spud) for us to share or take pouches because they take up less room. Wallet and keys in bag, phone in jeans pocket. Cardi that goes over both of us for warmth, plus lightweight coat for him. I travel light as I found out to my regret today when he vomited all over me, him and the Edinburgh Woollen Mill cafe Hmm

MrsNutella · 14/04/2014 21:16

We have a kitchen. But I think all my kitchen bits have done some sort of breeding and multiplying trick during the move. How do I have so much stuff to unpack?!

But DS seems to be settling into his new home. Hopefully by the weekend we will no longer be living out of boxes.

halestone · 14/04/2014 23:38

Wow Pidj H goes through about 7-8 nappies a day. That could be through me being over zealous though.

Nutella, I hope your boxes go quickly.

My birthday was a bit boring as we couldn't do anything due to the weather and we couldn't go to a soft play due to both girls having colds. We're hoping it's ok weather tomorrow as we want to take the girls to Southport.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/04/2014 05:37

Oops hales did I miss your birthday? Happy birthday Thanks sorry about the weather come down here it's been lovely Grin

Nutella hope you get settled quickly and find a lovely water table for your garden. Little tikes do a great pirate ship one, we couldn't afford that but got a spiral/water park one by them instead.

Ds goes through about four nappies in 24 hours!

PurplePidjin · 15/04/2014 07:40

that's a 3 hourly change with 1-2 overnight I'd be washing forever at 8 a day Shock

Stacks · 15/04/2014 13:07

DS has a nappy at about 8am, 12 and 3pm, and into his night nappy at 6:30 which lasts him till morning. I'll change more if he's dirty obviously, but he's not bad with his dirty nappies really. Usually just before bed :)

DS likes his new toys, though he's equally terrified and fascinated by the toy dinosaur that moves. He wants it on constantly, but then cowers in fear on my lap while it's running. As soon as it stops he's demanding it be turned on again, going so far as grabbing my hand and taking it to the button to make me push it. He's a complicated boy :)

Nutella, glad DS is settling into the new home. How are you finding it? We were looking to move this summer, but have decided to postpone to next summer. DH currently only has a 25min bike ride to work, so can be home by 4:30 most days. Where we want to move to will be a much longer train commute, and I want him around as much as possible when DC2 is born.

Sorry you didn't get a fun birthday hales. Did you get any nice presents, a lay in, or breakfast in bed at least? I hope so.

halestone · 15/04/2014 17:43

Yay we got nice weather today so we took the girls to Southport. We went for a walk down the pier, then onto the fair for a few rides. H was terrified on the baby rollercoaster (not sure of the spelling). Bless her she clung to me. Then we ate fish and chips and went on the beach. I made the mistake of thinking my DD who loves water would love paddling. she hated it she couldn't bear having wet dirty feet. Such a neat freak. Both girls fell asleep in the car and are asleep now so is DP, it's like a little bit of heaven in my house right now Smile

Stacks I got a new tablet and some perfumes and some money. My nan and grandad also brought me a tablet. So I was spoilt rotten, it was just being stuck in that made it boring today has more than made up for it though. I think it sounds like a good plan to stay put so that your DP can help out with baby number 2.

WL, I hope you and your family are having a lovely holiday.

Barbeasty · 15/04/2014 18:03

Hales happy late birthday. Glad you had a good day today instead.

Good luck to everyone waiting for school place news tomorrow. I hope we all get what we want.

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 15/04/2014 18:06

Stacks that's about what we get through, although the second one is more like 11-11:30 as that's when he sleeps :) are you in paper or cloth?
