Dropped off the fred; DS2 is 5 months old now Shock

I'd join a private group/add you all as friends on facebook.

Lucky, would love to know what those who say 'just throw a coat on them and get outdoors' are saying about today! Awful weather here.
Sorry to hear about your blocked milk duct, well done on persevering.

Re; DTD. Two natural births later and things feel weird down there, everything is 'normal' still but in certain positions 'feeling' DH is a bit hit and miss (and he's not small so clearly it's like throwing a hotdog down a tunnel)..doing pelvic floors until the cows come home & it's helping!

Janie, I'd leave him to sleep if he's gaining weight well!
Like Pink, we're far more 'romantic' since having the DS's so just a lovely text saying you appreciate the other or buying someone they like (eg. nice cake and posh coffee) has helped us (inbetween thinking up new & interesting ways to insult each other) Grin

GardenWorm · 30/12/2013 17:27

So jealous of your sleeping baby Janie, DS won't go down during the day unless he's in the car or being held and only does 2hrs between feeds at night (although he does at least usually sleep after the feed unless he's all snuffly). There isn't enough snot for the sink plunger tool!
Boba lol....frantically doing my pelvic floor exercises!
Blackholes have you picked a name now?
Those that said yay to fbook I've pm'd my details...I think I need at least one person as a friend (sob) in order to set up the group Smile. If there's anyone else let me know.

IBelieveInPink · 30/12/2013 18:28

Garden - I'm in for Facebook, although how does the group thing work? Is it private? I'm a bit wary of what goes on Facebook is all - and I don't understand the settings!
Although- this is going to confuse me with who is who!!!

OP posts:
JanieLovesLuckySocks · 30/12/2013 22:02

maybe we'll go for the epic lie in tomorrow then :) although i am meeting people at 11 so that means i'll probably be best to get up at about 6am so that i'm not late!

leo's going to be 4 weeks on wednesday, blackholes! how did that happen? the health visitor was out this morning and he's now a whopping 7lb12oz so he's put on 10oz in a week. phew! does your little lovely have a name as yet?

yes dh and i definitely aren't good at appreciating each other. if he's in anyway complementary i think he's joking or pissed! maybe rectifying that will be a new yrs resolution.

pink - dh shocked me today saying that we should totally have another one really soon, and he'd love there to be only about a year between the, hahahaaaaaa. oh how i laughed. i reminded him that that means i'd have to get pregnant again in 2 months time. secretly i was jumping for joy inside as we never really discussed how many etc! score!

lucky ouch on the boob ache. ouch. hope its on the mend, same for mini luckys bum :(

pink it's a closed group so only people invited can join...garden i think you need to make it a secret group? boba i just realised it's you on there! i'd make a pretty shit detective!!

shellsocks · 30/12/2013 22:26

Hey garden I'm up for Facebook too, thanks for setting it up Smile

Sorry again for not being more active here, I am reading your posts just struggling to post myself...things are looking a bit more hopeful but it's still quite tough Hmm

Hope you all had a good Xmas, we have had a fab time and it's really lifted my spirits, it's been so nice celebrating as a little family Smile

DTD Shock I've told DH I'm never having sex again Wink And defo no more kids for us, we ideally wanted 3 but I am so grateful after the MCs to have two healthy gorgeous children I can't complain Smile

I'd defo leave a baby to sleep at night .... I have a routine in the day as I need to feed Noah when DS1 is occupied with snack times/naps etc so we start the day with a feed at 7 (DS1 gets up at 8) and do 3 hourly till 7pm (DS1 snacks at 10 and 4 and is asleep at 1) then I feed him at 10pm or when I go to bed if he sleeps past 10...DH then gives him a bottle for the next feed and hopefully he won't want another one till 7 again tho this is hit and miss Confused

What a rubbish Xmas lucky that sounds horrible Hmm hope you're ok now x

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 30/12/2013 23:12

Hy she'll so glad you enjoyed Christmas. I've been thinking of you and hoping you were ok. And great news that things are hopefully looking better for you. Got everything crossed for you that things are on the up xx

LuckySocks13 · 31/12/2013 00:06

My poorly Nips still not right Shell but am feeling so much better than last week. I'm obviously not a natural brrast feeder!
Charlotte is just over 5 weeks old now and the last few days her face / head is covered in red pimple spots some with white heads. Anyone else's bubba had this? Any ideas what it is? Doesn't look like a rash as DS had had tons of those!
Do people have plans for the new year. Il prob be chilling in front of a film with a Marks and Sparks Indian dine in! Rock and roll me!
2014 is hopefully going to a good year for us all enjoying out new additions. We will never forget what we have been through but it certainly makes me appreciate what I have so much more and I plan to savour every precious moment. An feeling a bit sad that after DS my 1st baby I had postnatal depression and I feel I missed out on so much. Feel sad for DS that I didn't enjoy him straight away. So glad to feel better now :)

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 31/12/2013 00:24

Lucky my little guy has exactly what Charlotte has. All pimply on his face, forehead spotty and dry and his cheeks are covered and also his chest. Health visitor was out today and it's totally normal, it's a hormonal thing and will normally pass within a week or two. She said there's not anything that will make it go away but time. I have been just washing the are in warm water with a cotton ball. Apparently the wee spots don't bother the wee mites as much as they bother us.

I don't have any plans tomorrow. I would like to have a really nice dinner but not sure whether to cook something nice, get an m&s deal or get takeaway. Either way I'm opening the bottle of Bollinger that's been waiting for me since Leo was born :) (pls don't ring social services...I'll probably only manage one glass!)

GardenWorm · 31/12/2013 02:56

Aaaaaargh! Have I really just spent the last 2 hrs inwardly sobbing because whilst DS was sleeping I had to get up a zillion times to DD who is now in our bed after a midnight feast....

We had spotty baby too, they went after about a week and touch wood haven't returned.

Lovely to hear from you Shell Smile

Right I have made the fbook group secret, Shell or pink as you aren't part of the group yet can you search for Babies Babies Babies and confirm you can't see anything? I'm feeling like an old person trying to set it up and not really knowing what's going on! I will pm you my details x

DP is working NY Eve I will therefore be mostly pulling my hair out and failing at being supermum Wink

LuckySocks13 · 31/12/2013 03:46

Thanks for the advice on the spots Janie. I'm seeing my Health Visitor on Thursday. Been a gap due to Christmas. I was just worried it was linked to the thrush cream for her bum or something. Poor babies.
She only managed 2 hours between feeds tonight. Yawn. I feel your tiredness Garden. Always the way isn't it. I do beloved my older DS has woken up Charlotte more than the other way around! Thanks for the FB group

IBelieveInPink · 31/12/2013 05:25

I searched and couldn't see anything. Only thing that came up was lots if babies r us pages :)

Thank you for the comments on spotty ness. Imogen has had a bit of this- tend to come and go, I thought it was heat rash, but sounds exactly like what you all talking about. I love this group, helps keep me sane!!

So, it's happened, expressing us starting to fail and my supply is dropping off. Not sure how to do more than I already am, expressing 5 times a day for over half hour each time. But just doesn't seem to be sticking. We are doing one formula bottle a day now, she will still get the benefits of boob milk right?
She does seem to have just dropped another feed though. Down to 5 a day now, and going 4-5 hours in between feeds. Starting to feel like we are getting a routine together (although now I've said this it's all going to go wrong isn't it!!

OP posts:
shellsocks · 31/12/2013 10:20

Thanks everyone, I might be brave enough to explain more on a private face book group Smile

lucky snap with Noah, covered in zits and all flaky Hmm DS1 did the same and it didn't last long Smile

Ha ha garden I feel your pain..Noah slept for 5.5 hours the other night and I was up with DS1 ConfusedGrin

Sorry your supply seems to be falling pink if it's not one thing it's another with BF I find! Noah has one bottle of formula a day to help me get rest so I'm wondering if (when!) my supply will be effected too.

Right off to join the Facebook group and meet you all properly Grin

LuckySocks13 · 31/12/2013 12:00

Thanks for checking for the group pink. I think that little Pink will still get the benefits from any expressed milk you give. You have done so well with the expressing to get this far! F
Felt like Charlotte was feeding every hour and half last night.

Pentagon · 31/12/2013 14:15

hi ladies, I hope you all had a good Xmas! We travelled to my in laws' on the 18th and then to my SIL's on Christmas Eve - back to London on the 27th. We had a lovely time but I found all the packing and unpacking tiring and stessful. Elsie has started settling between 23:30 and 00:30 (which is so much better than 2am) and only waking up a couple of times during the night. She also sleeps quite a bit during the day...I still can't believe how different she is from DD1 in terms of feeding and sleeping

I'm sorry to hear about all the hospitals, GPs, colds and unsupportive DHs/DPs! Glad everyone is better now! DD1 was unwell the day after we returned home and Elsie has been snuffly the last couple of days. It never ends!

I'm also on FB, so garden please invite me if you don't mind. I'll be nice to meet you all properly

We're "partying" with our neighbours tonight - they have 2 teenage daughters whom DD1 loves so I'm hoping she'll have lots of distraction and entertainment. We're sharing the cooking and I'll probably have a couple of glasses of wine/prosecco. Anyone doing anything fun?

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and thank you for your support these past few months - I don't know how I would have got through my pregnancy without you (and all the lovely ladies on the other thread)

Bodicea · 31/12/2013 15:47

Hello, gosh so much to catch up on.

How do I join this fb group? I am of two minds whether to join!

I am still hanging in there with bf by skin of teeth. Developed a blood blister on my nipple. Was getting to point of quitting but remembered I had bought some nipple shields and they have helped me through the night. I also had the motivation that I have just purchased two seraphine tops in the sale and want to get some use out of them - my go bf clothes are expensive.

My sleeping situation is similar to lucky - dh is In the spare room , he is a light sleeper - but it has it's benefits- dh let me sleep in till 11 this morning after I was up twice in the night with James. It was bliss. However woke up and felt like boobs were going to explode!!!
Janie's I am jealous of your baby sleeping through!!!

I have a rashy cradle cappuccino baby at mo. I think he may have a wool allergy. We were given a lovely hand knitted sleeping bag for the pram but James was lying on it and I noticed he went more red. So gonna try and keep wool away for a while and see how he fairs .

LuckySocks13 · 31/12/2013 17:52

Enjoy your New Year's Eve ladies. It's a curry and a film for is here!

Bod - garden needs to add you to the Facebook group. She pm me her details. I'm sure she will be along here soon. Charlotte has been wearing knitted cardigans this week. Is it common to have a reaction to will as her poor little fave and head are covered in this spotty rash thingy.
I so needed some nipple sheilds. Where can I get some. My blisters were white last week. They still not right now but hopefully on the mend! Am petrified of it happening again. The pain was on a par with child birth and was constant for Christmas and Boxing Day and worse when feeding. I did resort to crying and a few little shrieks here and there! Not sure why it happened either.
Poor charlottes bottom is no better. Any cream recommendations please. Thanks

shellsocks · 31/12/2013 20:27

Happy new year everyone Smile

lucky I used them with DS1 and got them from mothercare....I still used the lanisoh after each feed and waited till they were completely healed before stopping using them and was fine afterwards...get some asap I know how excruciating the pain is, I used to cry every feed Confused the relief is immediate Smile

jmf294 · 31/12/2013 20:44

Happy new year to you all!
We are celebrating with pizza in front of the tv. What a lovely end to the year having had 5 weeks of the new baby with us.

Sorry I have not been around much- I do read it on my phone, but it's hard to post on my phone.
I have been struggling with doing my MBA work- I got an essay and an assessed presentation done bit it really took it out of me and I am feeling exhausted.

Alex is doing so well- very different to the other 2. He feeds quickly- takes around 15 mins, burps and then goes to sleep. I am using infacol as he was getting pain with the wind and the infacol works well.
It will be hard when the older 2 go back to school getting is out by 8 am but will have to find a way.

Lucky- hope you heal soon, use lanisoh cream, and you can get Avent nipple shields. I have always found the best bottom cream to be metanium- it stains but is brilliant.

Bod- hope you heal quickly too and hope James' rash goes fast.

Hope you are enjoying the party Pentagon and I hope you Garden are having a relaxing evening on the sofa.

Blackholes- you will find a way to manage with 3, i take hours to get us all ready to do anything but we get there.

Shell - glad things are a little better, thinking of you.

Pink- even a bit of greats milk is great, I mixed fed my first until he was 6 months and then stopped feeding. My daughter had bad spots that got infect and needed antibiotic cream bit her skin was really red and the spots crusty.

Hi to everyone else I have missed!!
I am on Facebook and would love to join, I think I am hidden though so no idea how to join. Can someone message me about how to join.

Love to you all, thank you for sharing this journey with me and for the support and advice along the way.

GardenWorm · 31/12/2013 22:32

Happy 2014 everyone! What a journey we've all had in 2013 resulting in our amazing babies. Beautiful.

Pentagon, Bod, and jmf I've pm'd you all my details, if you want to join send me a friend request and I'll do the rest.

lucky is it thrush that you have on nips and a Charlottes bum?

DP's working tonight so we are home alone, about to try and get some kip as I fear DD is going to be a pain in the arse again tonight.....Enjoy your evenings whatever you are doing Grin

IBelieveInPink · 31/12/2013 23:35

Lucky, we have thrush. Been to docs twice. Canisten didn't work on her bum so we have something else now- will have to check the name of it tomorrow. And doc said best barrier cream to use with thrush is sudocream. I am finally seeing a bit of improvement thank goodness!

Happy new year all. I was thinking back to last year earlier- new year last year I was pregnant and miscarried (for the second time) 4 days later. However, this year I have my beautiful Imogen, and all the pain and stress seems worth it. Happy new year to you and your families xx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/01/2014 07:50

Happy new year lovely ladies :) may 2014 be happy and worry free for you all. Big love and thanks for being great buddies xxxx

LuckySocks13 · 01/01/2014 20:29

Pink dr have me a thrush cream for charlottes bum but didn't help. He told me beat barrier cream is zinc caster! Never heard of it bit they obviously have different ideas!
I asked the dr several times if I had thrush on my nipples as Charlotte had it and I had the other sort when she was born, he said no. My right nipple is still not right and sort of blistered. Feeding is not at all enjoyable!
I've signed up to a postnatal Pilates class next week. I feel fat and disgusting. The healthy eating starts on Monday!!!

LuckySocks13 · 01/01/2014 20:30

Garden how would I know if it's thrush on nips? Maybe he health visitor will know?!

LuckySocks13 · 01/01/2014 20:31

Hi to everyone else. Thanks for the cream advice JMF
Sorry for the little posts am struggling on my phone.

IBelieveInPink · 01/01/2014 21:02

Lucky - the first doc I saw said couldn't be thrush on nips. Then health visitor said yes, sounds like it is. And second doc confirmed it and prescribed cream and tablet. Id go back to confirm if you still sore- I just wish id insisted sooner!

Well, we had a lovely new year, and Imogen slept through last night! Well, slept midnight to 7!! Couldn't believe it, I woke up panicking!
However, not expressing for that long caused havock with boobs. Woke up leaking everywhere and in agony. Urgh! Was in so much pain, cried all the way through expressing (combination of too full/thrush I think). DH has made the executive decision that he doesn't want me going through this any more. So, introducing one formula a day and starting to phase out expressing, more formula as needed. I have to say it's kind of a relief now the decision has been taken out of my hands. Although still feel pangs of guilt!
