aargh not sure what happened there. you can tell I don't do this a lot. stuck waiting for v late colleague. annoying

JamInMyWellies · 12/11/2013 11:15

Am losing the will to live. At cash and carry with chair of PTA. Trying to get stuff for disco and Christmas fair. Really the most irritating person ever.

DeidreBarlow · 12/11/2013 14:44

Are you ill rubes?

Jam hope you survived the Cash & carry!!

RTjoke · 12/11/2013 18:19

Living the dream, if the dream is a terrible nightmare. DD1 just copiously & violently commend all over packed tube train. Sick everywhere, on commuters, flowing down carriage floor etc. there are no words to describe it really. DD2 then had massive tantrum as she didn't want to get off tube.

RTjoke · 12/11/2013 18:20

For commend read vomited.

sybilfaulty · 12/11/2013 19:13

Oh arti, how dreadful for you. How are you both now? I know you don't like sick but you have done so well to manage your phobia. I remember Dd1 did a huge wee in a packed train when she was about 5. I didn't know one child could produce so much but it went everywhere. Lots of people looked sympathetic abs I decided I wouldn't recognise those who didn't so it didn't matter. Poor A. Hope super au pair helping and that Dh is home and helping you to deal. So sorry darling. Big hug xxxx

JamInMyWellies · 12/11/2013 19:17

Oh Arti god you poor thing. Well done for coping. How's DD2 now? I hope DH is on hand to help. Big hugs and a stiff drink needed.

DH now staying in US for another couple of days. He's flying to SF this evening. It means he will get to meet my 4wk old nephew before me. Now home on Saturday.

RTjoke · 12/11/2013 19:38

Oh Jam I can't believe they extended his stay. How many weeks exactly are you? How are you feeling?

I have to say that the au pair saved the day again today. She was on the tube with me and she wiped DD1 down and held her hand & stroked her hair as she continued to be sick.

sybilfaulty · 12/11/2013 19:44

Poor wee girl. How rotten for her. Glad au pair is proving worth her weight in gold.

Jam, there had better be diamonds in this or a handbag at the very least.

Rubena · 12/11/2013 21:30

Oh Arti hope dd feeling better. Well done AuPair again. Dd pissed in wine section if Waitrose once. Awful for all.
Jam how frustrating he gets to see the bub first! At least it's only 2 days extra not 2 weeks.
No deids it was for the coil fitting as I'd googled too much! Couldn't get any decent painkillers in the end. Anyway as Sybs said, it was completely fine - even with the faffing around the nurse did with her chair height and having to triple check the coil box for the right size / type one! No sense of urgency - while metal clamps and a tube are in my twot at all. Even her assistant not fetching the stuff very fast as too engaged telling me about her family house in the Philippines! (all fine there but family house has roof ripped off - Sad) Not saying it was a pleasant experience, but def not necessary for a local anaesthetic! Anyway will keep you posted if the devil leaves me on no hormones Grin

Very lovely report back from the patent teacher meeting tonight too so I think the boy deserves a trip to the waterslides!

JamInMyWellies · 13/11/2013 00:31

Am 35wks so still loads of time to play with. Actually feeling ok this wk apart from the usual tiredness and the pelvic pain reared its head again. But ok really. Weirdly I don't mind the extra couple of days he is there now what's a extra two days.

RT that au pair really has stepped up. Well done her box of chocolates her way. Hope your evening has got better.

Rubes had to laugh at the pudding in the wine aisle. Really wouldn't have been appropriate anywhere else. GrinGrinGrin

Just got back from a lovely night with some girlfriends. Far too late to be up on a school night but it was long overdue and fab

JamInMyWellies · 13/11/2013 00:32

Pudding??? Bloody iPhone. Pissing pissing in the wine aisle.

beans37 · 13/11/2013 05:53

I reckon 5.45am counts as DD3 sleeping through the night, doesn't it??? 8 weeks old today! Great girl. She may be a devil in the evenings, but that's brilliant!

RT, your au pair has turned out fab. Well done her and you for coping. Brave thing.

Jam, you are very stoic. Lunch next week to celebrate??

beans37 · 13/11/2013 05:54

PS Also love the weeing in Waitrose. She's clearly a Lidl girl at heart....

Rubena · 13/11/2013 07:34

Wow jam didn't realise you were even that far along. Exciting Grin
Nice work beanette 3. Long let it continue.

Rubena · 13/11/2013 07:36

She's prob more aldi girl Grin
Actually she thinks she's a princess so maybe Marks Grin it was some time ago back in TT time, so I forgave her and she was devastated!

DeidreBarlow · 13/11/2013 08:24

Ah Rubes forgot about the coil. Glad it was okay(ish!). Peeing?! In Waitrose?! Hilarious. Although I imagine not so much at the time. DD once pooed in a swimming pool on holiday. She wasn't even 3, kept asking to go but DH and I were in the middle of a 'heated' chat. By the time one of us went to lift her...well not good!!Blush

Beans definitely classed as slept through. Clever girl.

Arti what a star your Au Pair is. I'm so glad she was with you. How is DD1 today? Hope it was a one off thing and not a bug.

JamInMyWellies · 13/11/2013 08:28

Beans totally slept through. Well done mini bean, and yes to lunch next wk. What days are you free again?

RTjoke · 13/11/2013 09:02

Wow Beans! DS has done 7-5.30 once in his whole life and he is six months. Go Beanette.

Glad you are sanguine about the extended trip Jam.

Can you feel the coil now it's in Rubes?

Where is Lady?

And "hi" to lurking Invis.

DD1 fine this morning. A friend's toddler was sick at our house on Sat and since then her whole family have fallen one by one so I am pretty sure we aren't out of the woods yet but I am surprisingly calm about it.

Vagolajahooli · 13/11/2013 09:37

Crikey RT, I'm not surprised you are calm about the prospect of more, you've coped with the unthinkable on the tube, could it really get any worse. You & AP had to deal with a truely horrifying scene. How did you clean up the other tube passengers. Did everyone exit at the next stop?

Jam poor you, will look forward to hearing what he gets you. I have a friend here and her DH is away in either the US or Singapore 2 weeks out of every month. He was complaining that on this last trip he was not in first class so hadn't slept and was jet lagged. His wife had just spent the last two weeks dealing with their 3 & 6 year old, both who had been unwell and not sleeping properly, plus she has a suspected hernia and ended up with an infection in a cut on her finger. As you can imagine he got no sympathy from us wifeys.

Hooray for a good report Rubes. DS2 has his first proper parent teacher meeting today, in a couple of hours actually. I'm sure it will be pretty straight forward. DS1 doesn't have one today as we have the special meetings with his teacher. Apparently he's done his special test and we'll meet with his teacher about the results soon. Part of me keeps hoping that they'll actually discover he is some sort of misunderstood genius. But I don't think so.

OP posts:
RTjoke · 13/11/2013 09:56

He will be a misunderstood genius in his own way Veg. He is such a lovely boy and so talented at sport, music and languages, he really is a sort of genius.

We didn't clean up the other passengers. I offered baby wipes but the whole Tube carriage just stared and stared. The sick was mainly on the floor but never have you seen one person expel so much so it was sloshing about. We exited at the next stop as DD1 was still retching and I couldn't begin to clean up that much sick armed only with a few wipes. Weirdly nobody else exited. I think they were all too stunned and didn't want to follow us. They were also kind of trapped by the sick. It was unspeakable really.

beans37 · 13/11/2013 10:15

RT please take heart, DD3 only slept from 10.30-5.45, not 7pm!!

Don't feel about the tube passengers... Imagine the story they've got to tell people now!

Rubena · 13/11/2013 13:23

Wow Arti you've certainly been copping a lot of spew (for VagWink)
No, I don't think you're ever supposed to feel the coil in?
Have been on mission to find dcs mittens / gloves that stay on after meltdown from dd over gloves not going on on school run. Bloody chilly today. Found done thermalite ski type ones with Velcro. Ds's look huge tho. Got dd a new coat too as she's had the same one for 2 winters and it's trashed. Dds swimming at 2.
Yes where is lady? We chatted a week ago about getting together but Lady, are you out there?
Right must get dd sorted.

Rubena · 13/11/2013 16:11

Bugger. Just missed a call from my brother when on school run. 1am his time. Then I text & asked all ok. He said yes but then he sent another I didn't get until later, asking me a good time to ring, so now he probably thinks I couldn't care less I think cause he followed up with "fine I get it, I'll only call if it's an emergency" I think he's gone to sleep now. Hopefully this is progress but given the time he called I'm sure it was wine talking. [sigh]

Got dd a gorgeous coat from Gap. Puffa style, long, with frills at the bottom. Even the hood is padded and sort if looks like a snood when not on as a good.

......... Ah he's just called back. All fine and normal. Still up as just back from Perth (they did ironman over there) I am so pleased. Only a 5 min call and nothing spoken about re that phone call situ but he said it was good to talk to me. I hope it's a sign he's drawn a line. Smile

Vagolajahooli · 13/11/2013 17:00

That's nice to hear, how did their ironman go? Lucky he wasn't drunk might have over done it and end up catching the porcelain bus to deposit a technicoloured yawn Wink.
