Congratulations, Jam! He is gorgeous. Well done!

Vagolajahoolitobejolly · 29/12/2013 11:50

Mmmm chips.

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 12:37

mmmm my left over sprouts, chestnuts & pancetta

RTjoke · 29/12/2013 15:32

I not sure "mmmm" and "leftover sprouts" belong in the same sentence Rubes (sorry ZJ!).

I'm sitting feeding DS listening to DD1 belting out 'Hreece Is The Word' while doing the slowest poo in history. DD2 is singing Sleigh Bells Ring equally tunelessly while on another loo.

Indith · 29/12/2013 16:21

I ate my 3 sprouts as I do every year. No more sprouts than that will ever pass my lips no matter how many left overs there are. And we have a whole pack in the fridge because MIL decided to bring sprouts from her greengrocer because ours wouldn't be as good as hers Grin.

Time to scour ebay for party bag fillers for ds1.

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 16:31

I love sprouts - especially with bacon and chestnuts. I bought two huge trees of them. We ate one Xmas day / boxing day and then I have had the other myself yesterday and today. I eat loads of veg and so far no consequences with the toilet, but you never know Grin

Indith · 29/12/2013 16:59

Right, party bags and party bag crap ordered and upon googling for cakes I found a blog that used wonder melt things that people use to coat cake pops to make lego men and lego bricks using silicone moulds like the ones I got off ebay a while back with ds1 in mind so I've ordered a load of those in different colours.

I may be crap at completing my assignments but I do procrastinate beautifully.

Vagolajahoolitobejolly · 29/12/2013 17:46

Poo I lost a post. Ok let's just say I like sprouts, they are delish in fondue and Austria has good sprouts.

ZuleikaJambiere · 29/12/2013 19:16

If the sprouts were from Booths, Morrisons or Aldi, then yes, they would be superior. Otherwise, just another sprout by just another grower ...

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 19:45

Sprouts were from the farm shop it was a shit fight as I went their busiest day and their card payment computers broke down! Yummy though Grin

RTjoke · 29/12/2013 20:06

Back in hospital with DS and croup. Not a great end to the year.

ZuleikaJambiere · 29/12/2013 20:18

Oh RT, poor DS, I hope it passes quickly and you are back home soon Thanks

Mckayz · 29/12/2013 20:27

Poor DS and you RT. I hope you get home very quickly.

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 20:38

Oh no Arti. He on the ward then? Gosh all these babies under the weather. My two escaped this sort of stuff although dd did have croup once but guess wasn't bad enough to go in. Hope he's well soon. Dh is there all weekend if he can be of help.

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 20:41

All weekend? Crikey Just realized its sun night. Anyway he's been there since sat morn and will be until tmrw afternoon.

RTjoke · 29/12/2013 20:54

Not on ward, still in A&E waiting to see how he reacts to steroids. Really hoping we can avoid admission.

Indith · 29/12/2013 23:01

fingers crossed arti.

JustRubes · 29/12/2013 23:08

Hopefully no admittance & you'll be home soon x

JamInMyWellies · 30/12/2013 00:07

Oh Arti. What a nightmare. Fingers crossed lovey.

My nipples are on fire. DS3 has been on them non stop since 7.30. Midwife today at his peads check up commented on his strong suck and were my nipples tender. Hell yes!

Boys are very happy with their new brother. But DS2 is struggling a bit he is what they say round here totes emot. Hoping that eases.

Right I figure if he has been non stop for hrs I can get a good 3hrs before he goes again. Fingers crossed.

JamInMyWellies · 30/12/2013 07:00

Arti how is DS this morning?

I can't get DS3 to latch properly. I have inverted nipples and he is struggling to get on as my milk is on its way and so nipples more inverted than normal.

Any tips!

ZuleikaJambiere · 30/12/2013 08:50

Jam could you hand express a little bit of milk off your boob, just so it's not so full? Would that help the nips? Does DS3s head smell beautiful? I just want a sniff and a squeeze!!

How is DS today RT? Did the steroids do the trick?

Indith · 30/12/2013 09:07

Oh jammy being in pain is no fun. As zj said you can try hand expressing a little just to soften the areola do he can latch. Remember though that although your nipples are inverted he is breast feeding not nipple feeding. He needs a good mouthful of breast including most or all of the areola in his mouth, then the nipple should end up in the right place in his mouth.

Are they true inverted or do they come out at all? If they come out gig could try drawing them out before a feed but tbh it won't change anything.

anyhoo you've done this before, you know all this stuff really it has just been a while! Have confidence and you'll get there.

sybilfaulty · 30/12/2013 09:14

How are the nips now, Jammy? I remember finding feeding m quite tricky though I'd fed both the girls. Can you put some lansinoh on your nips to help them feel less sore? Huge hugs to you.

Arti, I hope DS is feeling a bit better and you are safely at home now.

Lady was it today you were off with FIL for his appointment ? Thinking of you all.

Lots of jobs to do today. And car on blink. Drive home from Guildford with different parts of the electrics failing. Super scaty( and probably illegal but we got home in one piece without a police escort). Now ringing the garage to see if they can sort.

RTjoke · 30/12/2013 09:50

We are home but DS still very poorly: wheezing, fever spiking at 40, conjunctivitis. he is so sad. We haven't slept a wink all night. It's DH's birthday tonight and we are meant to be going out with 8 other couples, there is no way I can leave DS like this but I feel v bad for DH.

Hope the latch is sorting itself Jam. Maybe google Kellymom site as its often got great BF advice. Did you successfully BF before? I found DD2 latched much worse than DD1 or DS, it's so weird how they all differ.

Lady I hope your FiL's appt brings better news than expected. Are you his only living family now or does he have other support?

sybilfaulty · 30/12/2013 09:58

Oh Arti, I can't bear to think of a sad baby! Poor him and poor you. Dh will have other birthdays of course though. Could he go alone for a drink for an hour if it is local? Thinking of you all.

Can't get through to garage. Bum.
