Did they think you were making progress Jam?

Hi PD, good to hear DS' tics are getting better. Why are they worried about his eyes?

FestiveRubes · 26/12/2013 17:23

PD nice to hear from you, and ditto what Arti asked!
Indith how sad about your neighbor. At least it wasn't too unexpected, but still, never nice and awful on Christmas day.
Kays how is dd? seemed better on FB?
I too have to re-think lego storage. Was looking at one of those Lego "head" storage things, but I think we need bigger.
my two have been utterly over the top spoilt this year. As you all know ds is quite the fan of ps3 racing car games, and got gran turismo 6 as well as a steering wheel and pedals Shock (I know) - no surprises who was driving that purchase (pardon the pun) anyway it wasn't good fit on the table they use in the play room so 2 hours later and dh has knocked up a bloody kiddie sized racing seat. DH Tells me it's going back in for a spray and stickers soon Hmm DS is obviously beside himself - pics are so funny! Dh has now done all the wiring to move it out of our living room to the other TV DH is now sitting there "coaching" him! I'd be worried about it all if he was not keen on school, but even when he finished his races today and it displays how many "Credits" he has, he writes down all the numbers in an attempt to work out how much more he needs to purchase a faster car Hmm He was #1 position on the www circuit by end of Christmas Day Grin
DD hasn't taken off her fairy outfit for 2 days and actually scooted along our road today in it. Complete with wings, a tiara plus a wand in one hand and her ballerina Barbie in the bag on the front. Frightening.

Right, I haven't stopped eating and drinking for 2 days. May as well carry on.

JamInMyWellies · 26/12/2013 18:20

Well painful sweep No.4 done. She said she could get her finger all the way round the membrane so thats good.

She also told me that she wants to wait before trying again. She also offered to break my waters but not keen on that as if nothing happens am back to having to be induced in hospital. Am booked in for another S&S on Sunday. If he has not made an appearance by Monday I have to have my care transferred to the hospital and not midwife led unit. Because at that point I will be 14days over. At which point I have to make the decision to go in for daily monitoring or induction. Also DH doesnt really get paternity leave as he is self employed which is why were were really hoping it would happen over the Christmas break as he has to take that time off. He is back to work on 2nd Jan.

Anyway enough about me and the never ending pregnancy.

PD lovely to hear form you. Glad to hear Ds' tics are getting better and that you had an app. Did they explain why speech therapist and opthamologist.

Back in a bit Dh demanding help in the kitchen. No chance to rest here!!!

Mckayz · 26/12/2013 18:37

DD is a bit better. The doctor thinks it's a big maybe that we will go home tomorrow. I really hope so. She's been off oxygen since 5pm. So she has to keep her oxygen levels up on her own for 12-24 hours.

XH said that he will have the boys tonight. So hopefully DH can stay again tonight as he wasn't asked to leave yesterday.

poisondwarf · 26/12/2013 19:45

Glad to hear DD is on the mend kayz.

Arti/Rubes/Jam it could have been optometrist rather than opthalmologist - just had a quick Google and this sounds like the kind of thing the doc described - basically to see if he has any visual information processing or visual/motor issues which might cause him difficulties with writing and stuff. The speech and language assessment would be a similar kind of thing I think but to look at his verbal processing. The doctor seemed to think the tests might show up some significant differences between his verbal processing and other areas. Hopefully this might help us and the school understand his strengths and weaknesses a bit better and avoid a return to the levels of anxiety he was experiencing. No idea if it's going to be useful or not but at least we're in the system in case it gets out of hand in the future.

Well it seems my family had a humdinger of a Christmas row yesterday. Nobody will tell me what it was about. One brother hasn't turned up today and my sis is waiting till my other brothers have gone home before she comes round. Looks like I missed a belter!

Oh I did mean to say in my earlier post a big fat happy birthday to all the Dec 08ers. Can you believe they're 5 already?

Vag you trying to do this Tardis

JamInMyWellies · 26/12/2013 20:56

Bloody hell I can't get it to work either

Indith · 26/12/2013 21:04

That's it, I admit defeat. even in Snape form the man is the embodiment of sex. I'm only on half blood Prince too. a whole load more Harry Potter to go. I've been recording them all as they've been on Grin .

PD are you just waiting for the gossip then?

Well, boxing day over. Back to the books for me. crabby children to get back into some form of routine. ds2 been feeding so much my new, smaller bras are getting tight.

Indith · 26/12/2013 21:06

I can't see vag's first tardis but the next one and jam's are there.

beans37 · 26/12/2013 22:30

Lady, I'm so sorry to hear about FIL. But I'm glad he had a jolly time with you all at Christmas.

I will catch up one day, but Kayz, hope DD gets better soon.

We had a lovely Xmas and I got a bread maker from DH, as I've been requesting. And a steam mop from Mum as requested. My life is so exciting. Honestly, I'm depressed by the mundanity of it all! But I am delighted with the presents!

Did I tell you all my romantic DH jewellery story? I probably did, but can't remember!

Jammy, any sign of contraptions???

beans37 · 27/12/2013 06:26

I am ill. Squits and am trying not to be sick into the bath. Rotten.

JamInMyWellies · 27/12/2013 07:49

Beans poor you. Is DH home today to have the girls?

Kayz how is DD this morning?

Nothing last night! Not even a twinge.

Indith · 27/12/2013 08:26

urgh jam, thinking lots of oxytocin thoughts your way.

beans hope you feel better soon.

kayz how is dd? Hope you can go gone today.

RTjoke · 27/12/2013 08:26

Sorry you are ill Beans. Are you still BFing? If so be extra careful about dehydration.

How were dD's oxygen levels overnight Kayz? DS' discharge was delayed as he couldn't maintain them when asleep. I think they needed to stay above 92 and he was fine when awake but every sleep they dipped into the 80s.

Jam, you know I was induced with DS, from waters being broken and first real contraction to birth was just over one
hour. I think induction with a third is a totally easier ball game than with a first.

RTjoke · 27/12/2013 08:30

PD, I meant to say that processing stuff makes sense. My friend's son has sensory processing disorder and he basically doesn't get the feedback from his senseslke we do. It effects him in veery unexpected ways but he is now statemented and has an support assistant in the classroom for a few hours a day and he is suddenly behaving (he was out of control) and free reading and all sorts.

Mckayz · 27/12/2013 09:06

She's fine this morning. Playing, running about, eating. She's not on the monitors. Her oxygen levels are always above 93 unless she coughs but they go straight back up within seconds.

I am hoping that because the doctor took her off the monitor we can go home later.

Nolda · 27/12/2013 09:33

That's great, Kayz. Fingers crossed the doctor lets you go home.

Hope you feel better soon, Beans.

Thank you to my secret santa. My house will smell lovely.

Mckayz · 27/12/2013 10:58

We might have to stay in again. Not bloody sure why as she's acting fine and normal. They aren't putting her back on the oxygen or monitor. So I'm not sure why we aren't going home today.

DeidreBarlow · 27/12/2013 11:48

Kayz I know it's frustrating but be patient. I expect they want to be sure she doesn't relapse, children can be fine one minute and then go down again the next. Hopefully if she stays stable all day they will let you go before tonight.

I have eaten and drunk way too much! Was all set to get the children out for a walk to blow away the cobwebs but it's wild out there!! I'm afraid we might have to dodge flying branches....

NewYearRubes · 27/12/2013 12:21

Same here Deids. I have a new PB for amount of calories consumed in a 48 hour period. Planned a run or bike riding as dh off, but it's horrendous outside here too. Thought about the gym, but am feeling the post Christmas anti climax Sad so have just got all possible visual entertainment for kids on in several rooms and am considering having a brandy & dry Grin

Hang in there Kayz.

Jam, for the love of God, how can you bare it? Poor you. I can't quite believe how long it seems! Clearly longer for you!

DeidreBarlow · 27/12/2013 12:29

Oh Rubes I hear you!! Too windy for a run, put shred DVD on, turned it off again watched 102 Dalmatians and had some pate on toast for brekkie!Shock I am a hog!!

Indith · 27/12/2013 12:43

Not been for a run in ages with assignment writing etc before Christmas. Have consumed so much food, so much chocolate still to eat and my jeans are a little on the tight side. I'll burn it all off feeding the baby before nap time won't I?
