oh and Deids, how is the foot? Did you have a nice time?
PD hope you get DS seen soon. Also hope to see you again soon!

DeidreBarlow · 01/11/2013 12:36

The foot is definitely on the mend rubes. But I can still feel it after a few long walksHmm. I may try a small run nx fri once the kids are back in school. I guess until I try to run I have no idea of how it will hold up!

PD my nephew is a different kettle of fish to your DS but was ultimately diagnosed ASD but high functioning so he goes to a normal high school etc. but does have a TA with him in most lessons. I just meant to highlight that my sis Paed referral took an age, in fact I think she may have gone private. He had a range of symptoms (no tics though) from being tiny when we think back now.

Only noon, and I've had stern words with the GP receptionist, and an argument at the service station. Not loving today so far.

Rubena · 01/11/2013 12:40

crossed deids. Good news. yes I actually said to dh last night - I can feel kind of tightness where my leg was sore but wouldn't call it pain. Apparently normal to feel something for some time. Still doing as much as I can bare before dying of boredom on the cross trainer, but it's helping strengthen the muscle again and then am warmed up to use treadmill. Not often enough though.

Honsandrevels · 01/11/2013 18:28

Arti Yes it would mean my transplanted liver doesn't fill up with the protein. It is doing that already but very slowly. It took 24 years for it to collapse last time so with these new treatments clearing the protein it should function normally. That's the plan but the drug is still being trialed.

oh dear Rubes, that doesn't sound too good.

PD tics and ocd type behaviours are fairly common and are most often grown out of but you are right to push for a referral. Did this come on suddenly? From what you said about the teacher she isn't handling the situation well and creating more stress and worries.

Vagolajahooli · 02/11/2013 07:44

Good morning all. I'm up and at the pool again being a swimming club mom. Got my thermos of coffee and had a lovely ride down so I'm happy. We cycle past a BP service station that has an M&S food. It is the only one in NL. There is an M&S in Amsterdam and one being built in the Hague but this is the only one we have close. So am looking forward to a little shop there on the way home. They have been out of crumpets the last few times so hopefully they will have them today. But at the very least I can get the boys some proper bacon and some muffins. I want to see if they have the rhubarb yoghurt I used to love. It's the little things

Hey Nolda how was the move? Have you found a spot where the Thermomix would look good. You know as a house warming you could get a thermomix rep to come and give you a little demo.

Vagolajahooli · 02/11/2013 07:46

Omg hilariouso the mum next to me is reading a romance novel in dutch. It's not a nurse doctor one but it's making me giggle.

Arrtttiiieee · 02/11/2013 08:32

Is it a dirrrtttyyyy novel Veg? Why would you read that at a swim meet?

That new treatment sounds promising Hons. I really hope it works for you.

Being ill has broken DS. He was never one of life's great sleepers but at least he self settled in the cot at bedtime and slept until around 1am before the waking started. Now we have no self settling and wakes every 1-2 hours. If I feed him back to sleep he wakes the second a remove my breast from his mouth and if u don't feed him he won't settle. Urgh.

JamInMyWellies · 02/11/2013 09:43

Ooh Arti you poor thing.

Hons that sounds really interesting.

Vag we are at footie this morning. Wet muddy field. Lovely.

Nolda · 02/11/2013 10:03

Arti, oh dear, I really hope he'll settle back to his old self very soon.

Vag, how can she read that kind of thing in public.

I have just ordered a roomba with my first pay packet, so I daren't mention the Thermomix!

Vagolajahooli · 02/11/2013 12:57

Oh roomba is a good choice Nolda. Our floors would never get vacuumed if it wasn't for Roomba. How is the house Nolda?

Sorry about the sleep mess up Arti. Don't forget that while he is better from a not needing to be in hospital perspective, he will take some time to fully recover. Think about how you feel when you have a cold, you still need paracetamol up to a few days afterwards. Well BFING as well as being a meal is also his 'antibiotic' source (in that you have made the antibodies to kill this virus/bug) & it is also a pain reliever. So he'll be popping on for other reasons at the mo. Also, he is still feeling crap enough to mess up his sleep. Hopefully once he feels better he will get back to it. Then you'll have another growth spurt or teething to look forward to.

Jam how's the mud. I must say after the long ride down I do love sitting in the warm pool area. Especially as it is stadium seating so I get a good view without needingto be too close to the action.

Rubena · 02/11/2013 13:23

Likewise with Roomba Nolda. I love him. You will never look back! I want scuba now too Grin
Back from ds swimming lesson. Quick stop for some bathroom scales and kids are mental again. Those of you that have experience with school age, is this what happens after they've experienced school they become nightmarish in the school hols? Have fortunately sorted play date with ds best buddy tmrw. Dh went off to work this morn and won't be back until Monday afternoon. Early bedtime tonight for them and a night of wine and trash tv Grin

Arti I'm sure ds will settle down again soon. Poor little fella.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 15:35

Oh arti, tough. How are you getting through to the day today?

DH has taken the big girls to Cumbria and I had 5 of my best friends to stay last night. Was just magic. we had a take away and nattered til 10.30 -my latest night for months! did a dream feed for DD3. she slept til 3, then was up 3-5.30!!! aaagh! but have just had a 1.5hr snooze and I feel so much better. nor something I cam do when big girls are here. tonight strictly, xfactor, then bed. bliss.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 15:54

is it too early to light the fire?

Rubena · 02/11/2013 17:05

Not at all Beans. Wish we still had one - but putting one in for next Winter.
Will be joining you for Strictly and XFactor. Kids have been fed, Wine has been opened, and bedtime is being brought forward Grin

JamInMyWellies · 02/11/2013 17:51

Wish we were doing that. Stupidly taking the boys to a fireworks display.

Rubena · 02/11/2013 18:04

Isn't the weather awful for that Jam? Might do that on Mon or Tues. Def not taking them solo. Rather stick pins in my eyes.

I'm putting them to bed. Winding clock Forward temporarily.

Rubena · 02/11/2013 18:17

Result. They're in bed.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 19:33

fire was lit at 4. am now boiling, but happy. DD3 fast asleep finally. what did I do with my time when I only had one baby??? About to cook a delicious supper of chicken with mushrooms and bacon and cream cheese sauce and pasta. deeeeelicious!

loving the noise of fireworks. but more loving that I'm snuggled up inside.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 19:34

Rubes, genius getting the kids in bed so early. Loving your work

Rubena · 02/11/2013 19:45

I'm Loving my work too beans! Grin Seems easier when dh not here as they don't get distracted. Loving your supper making skills. Also happy to be inside hearing the fireworks. Raining heavily. How are they still going? Dog a bit Hmm about them.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 20:37

I am going to bed any moment. In a quandary about the late feed. do I set my alarm to do it, or just let the beast sleep on and just feed her when she wakes. Suspect the latter.

man, Xfactor so boring this year.

Rubena · 02/11/2013 20:57

Alarm setting? Struth do people do that? I never did. I waited for the cry, begged for it to stop then dragged myself in.
X factor not thrilling me either. Waiting for prison worker Sam. Love her.

Rubena · 02/11/2013 21:02

Beans just realised you're only referring to the late feed. Never had that issue as I never went to bed before 11 most nights so fed then.

beans37 · 02/11/2013 21:02

I'll do as you did, Rubes. I love Sam the prison officer too. no one else really cuts it this year.

how about strictly? I like Suzannah and Natalie.
