Oh gosh I am finding DD2 hard at the moment. She makes massive fusses about everything: who is walking her to school, who will pick her up, what she will eat etc. Her fusses involve huge whining and crying and can last for literally hours. When not fussing she is either hyper and naughty, or aggressive and hurting her sister. If not around her siblings then she is a joy so I know there is a reasonable, interesting and thoughful girl in there but that just makes it more frustrating that I rarely see that side.

I repeatedly handle her all wrong. I tell her off, and threaten punishments despite knowing she just gets worse if backed into a corner. Tonight she has gone to bed probably feeling hated and left out by me and I now feel awful but she has been totally impossible since the moment she got up.

Urgh. Sorry. Just had to get that off my chest. I'm mainly cross with myself. Maybe I need a parenting course or something.

beans37 · 04/10/2013 20:25

Oh Arti, horrid. I find DD2 more annoying than DD1 at the mo. I think it's because she's constantly attention seeking and yet, I know, like you, that she is really a good, charming little girl who is probably feeling neglected as she's no longer the baby. It hurts my heart when I tell her off so much. Three children is definitely a guilt inducer!

DeidreBarlow · 04/10/2013 21:14

Kayz glad DS2 is okay!

Arti I think it's DD2s age. I remember when my DD started Reception and posting on one of our threads that she was such hard work and no fun to be around. She will get better. But generally I find girls much more hard work than boys!

Rubes your DH should start charging for all these consultations Wink. Excellent news on the run, gives me hopeSmile

I walk DCs to school on non work days. And drive the other 3. But we can use the car park at the leisure centre behind the school so parking isn't too problematic.

Ah deids prob more hindrance than help. He's constantly saying "too hard without seeing myself" understandable, but I do like to help if poss. The foot will get better and it'll be a small blip in the grand scheme. I rested at the end recently forced just due to work plus no childcare option to go out and exercise and it's felt really good quite fast.
Article, prob just a combo of new baby plus her age. It'll pass. Stay strong. Dd is difficult at moment even with a tiny bit of sleep lacking. Think it's just her bro getting all the new school boy attention. That's without a new sibling on the scene. She'll be fine. Just give her some one to one time if poss
Urgh... need to open a work manual. Dull.

Boo! Found you!
Hello Grin. Has the Christmas table runner chat started yet?
Sorry I've been away so long, I'm still struggling to deal with the full time working lark and because kids up at 5.30 every day, by the time I get a second to myself before going to bed, I'm knackered. Can't believe I missed the mini Beans birth though #fail.

T seems to have taken ok to school (won't tell me a dicky bird about it but seems happy enough) and B is now settling into his two mornings a week at preschool. I do feel very far removed from it though - I don't do any drop off or pick up, so it's a bit of a foreign concept.

B had another endoscopy the other day - he was very brave. Results inconclusive but he's been off the omeprazole for a week since the scope and not as bad side effects as I'd thought. I'd so love him to be drug free.

Need a bit of fun to look forward to. And a plan so I can make loads of money self-employed again. i just need an idea and I'll be the first on Dragon's Den. Anyone got an invention? Baby stuff always seems to do well. Who's with me?

DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 08:24

Yo Spot! Good to see you. No table runner talk yet, although personally I do need to sort out where I'm having Christmas lunch and if I'm cooking I am in need if a new runner Grin. I reckon anytime after Halloween is fair game...

How is the job itself (aside from the juggling act)? Also glad the boys are settled. DS tells me everyday he's done nothing but play. But when we have a bedtime story it takes an age as he stops me to point out various letters and sing the associated phonics rhyme (sorry ladyGrin). So I guess he's learning something. Great news on B too being off the meds too. Long may he continue to improve

Gah DH at work all weekend, DCs driving me potty already and the weather looks a bit dubiousHmm. I may have to locate soft play and take book:iPod and drown out the shrieking!!

Oh one other thing DD often. plays on Moshi Monsters website. Last night she was on for quite a while and was in the chat room with her school friend. I admit I freaked a little, demanded to know which friend and promptly gave her mum a quick ring. It was her!! It was all silly chat but I suddenly felt quite alarmed that it could have been anyone chatting to her! I know she's only 7 but in a few years it'll be MSN messenger or whatever and it does scare me.

Deids in dreading those days to come. I typically freak out, over-react then calm down later with most things. Never did before having kids

Rubena · 05/10/2013 14:49

Oh and am suppose to be reading about emergency evacuations but instead looking at the Next catalogue for Xmas table runners Grin

Nolda · 05/10/2013 15:13

Much more important, Rubes! Let me know if you find any good ones. I'll need one for the new house, naturally.

Beans, I'm not surprised you didn't manage to do your teeth, sounds like a busy day. Well done for getting through it.

Nolda · 05/10/2013 15:22

Hi, Spot. Nice to see you.

JamInMyWellies · 05/10/2013 15:22

I too was looking in the next catalogue at Christmas shizzle earlier.

Mckayz · 05/10/2013 17:19

I love the Next Christmas stuff.

Will I be kicked out of the thread if I admit to not owning a table runner? Grin maybe I should buy one.

beans37 · 05/10/2013 18:23

I don't have one either, Kayz!

DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 18:35

Everyone needs a Christmas table runner, it should be thread law!!!Grin

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 05/10/2013 18:45

Neither do I have a runner but I do love a bit of shizzle

DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 18:50

When can we discuss colour themes for the trees?

OP posts:
DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 18:51

Christmas ones obviously...not the ones in the park that would just be weird!!Grin

OP posts:
Mckayz · 05/10/2013 18:56

I will buy one as we always have my Mum etc round for dinner on Xmas Eve.

Deids, now!!! I absolutely love Christmas. I am hoping DH doesn't get delayed too much at the end of this trip so we can get everything up early.

It's only 11.5 weeks to go!

DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 18:58

Fab!! I bought purple & blue last year for the tree. My mum was horrified said it wasn't Christmassy enough! Looked beaut though.

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 05/10/2013 19:26

ssshhh about 11.5wks away. That means 10.5 wks until this baby is due. [scared]

I have a fairly traditional colour to my tree and decs warm white lights and lots of lovely deep reds greens and naturals. In fact when we redecorated the lounge I choose the colour scheme so I knew it would fit in with my Christmas stuff. We also have stuff entwined up the stairs.Plus you cant forget my baby jesus nativity scene on the dresser in the kitchen. Grin

Oooh I lurve christmas!!!!

Mckayz · 05/10/2013 19:32

I had pink and silver last year.

DeidreBarlow · 05/10/2013 19:34

I've been after a good nativity scene for a while, I quite like those all in one jobs that have little LED Lights in them.

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 05/10/2013 19:39
